How do you mount a isb storage like usb on the go to our HoX ?
sent from outer-space using HoX
On jb you simply plug it in. You can then access it in /mnt/usb
If it's formatted ntfs then you need an app like stickmount

It is simple with HOX on JB. Buy an OTG USB cable and connect your USB to HOX.
Remember to safety remove (Setting --> USB Storage) before remove your USB.

I thought the GS3 already supports otg without needing root. Are you hooking up to a portable harddrive or a usb flash drive (aka jump drive)? Also be sure the usb storage is mounted in Settings > Storage.

Hi,
I would just like to ask if there is a app that will enable the OTG NTFS flash drive? btw, my phone is not rooted and I'm wondering if there is an app for non-rooted device to enable OTG NTFS drives.
Thanks,
Doesn't OTG support NTFS by default? Or is it limited to FAT32? I read that NTFS drives can be recognized properly.
I tried last night my OTG cable connected to my HOX and my 32GB NTFS Flash disk and it's not detected. It says Blank USB.... So I wonder If I need an app or there is an app to support NTFS Flash Drives to connect to HOX via OTG cable?
Thanks
I use usb otg helper for my ntfs 2tb external hdd. I haven't tried it with a ntfs flash drive, I'd imagine it would work though.
edit: I don't recall it asking for root.

U have to be rooted.
so maybe there are no app that can make it without rooting. all of it needs root access.
An ext3 formated drive might work.

Does it mount as usbdisk? Are you on 442? Rooted?
Sure, it mounts as usb disk. I'm running the stock Motorola Rom 4.4.2, not rooted.
When you insert the stick through the micro usb port on the phone, it automatically mounts. Then I usually use ES file explorer to copy files in it.

I wonder why you, on 442 w/o my otg fix (if I presume), have otg support yet I did not?

its still working? cause i just bought one but my moto x no recognize the usb, i am on 4.4.3
I also have this device and it works great for me as well. The stick can be found going to storage/usbstorage in es or any file explorer. On Verizon running krypton rom with 4.4.3.
I just bought the Patriot 64gb OTG drive and it works fine on my stock, rooted Dev Edition on 4.4.3. Shows up in ES File Explorer, and works fine with Stickmount.
If you're rooted it should would fine if I'm not mistaking.
I just got this for my MOTO X XT1056. When I connect it, all I see in the notifications is this message: "Blank USB Storage. USB storage is blank or has unsupported file system" It the gives me the option to format the usb storage. I've done this twice and also formatted on my PC, but still same thing. Any help?
When I go to Settings, Storage and try to mount it does nothing and the message is still there.
I've tried a couple of USB Sticks via USB OTG, they're all working fine. No mounting problems or anything like that. I use the "File Explorer from NEXTAPP, INC" on my XT1052 Stock 4.4.2 KitKat no root.
What capacities and the format of USB do you all have used? Please reply. I've Moto X 2013 running 4.4.4 stock, no root. I tried sandisk dual usb 64 GB with ex-fat format and it didn't work. It doesn't show up in notification. It file explorer it shows as r/o (read only) device. Thanks
