Yup, but I'm on an Xperia Z3 so I can't root (not without unlocking the bootloader which has nasty side-effects). So I need a patched APK and not a Xposed/root solution.

Thanks so much!! it now end download, i cant wait for play in hearthstone on my XZ :3
Edit:
Works Awesome
Really thanks man!!: D

Hearthstone
Fire TV. Infinite load screens after logging in :crying:

Could work
This version works without root. Not sure weather it works on Fire TV but it does on my Note 2 and my Xperia Z2

Same thing is happening to me..... does anyone have a fix? I tried multiple builds that I found online but it's the same issue - infinite loading after signing in.

disk space
It seems you don't have enough disk space when loading it up. when it loads for the first time it seem to expand or download sound/grafx files. Does it passes the first progress bar or the second one?

Does this include the FireTV Stick? I'm at work until 8am est or I would check myself.
Thanks for any hope,

Same issue here. I get past the first loading screen (unpacking crates with the Blizzard sign). Stays forever at the main screen with the logo glowing.
Interestingly, I can play the tutorial if I delete cache/data and don't sign in. It's only when I sign in that it freezes.
I'm gonna try and see if I can find any log files via adb. I also may attempt to move it to an external drive...I am pretty low on space (500Mb free).

were you able to get it to work on the fire stick?

I spent an hour posting a reply and it must have timed out and lost my response. Nice.
Anyway, I side load the app and am still having trouble, it says it can't connect to the play store. Do I also have to side load the play store?
I downloaded Android Studio and SDK
I open a terminal.
cd ~/Library/Android/sdk/platform-tools/
./adb connect <fire tv IP>
./adb push "/Users/<username>/Downloads/patch.738702.com.blizzard.wtcg.hearthstone.obb" "/sdcard/Android/obb/com.blizzard.wtcg.hearthstone/patch.738702.com.blizzard.wtcg.hearthstone.obb"

./adb install /Users/<username>/Downloads/com.blizzard.wtcg.hearthstone.apk
Am I doing that right? Anything else special I need to do, permissions on those files or anything?
Thanks,
Eric

I haven't tried moving it to external. I tried installing it internally. I noticed that it required you to have free space as it uses it for cache. I will remove it and install it from zero to try to replicate the issues you are telling me about. As I had a lot of space on my internal card as I normally move them to an external hard drive. I also have it working on a Note 3, a Note 2 and a Moto G (2013 version). On mobile you can use an xposed module (app settings) and enable xlarge resolution.

I see tha tyou are manually installing it from terminal and are missing the extensions in the push commands.
adb push "/Users/<username>/Downloads/main.738702.com.blizzard.wtcg.hearthstone.obb" "/sdcard/Android/obb/com.blizzard.wtcg.hearthstone/main.738702.com.blizzard.wtcg.hearthstone.obb"

You can also use Amazon Fire TV Utility app to Sideload all the files to the download directory and then move the obb files to /sdcard/Android/obb/com.blizzard.wtcg.hearthstone/ with a file manager utility such as ES explorer or FX. Then install the apk and run it. As you install it will take some time to load and after two progress bars the game will load into the main screen.

When you say sideload to the download directory, is that specific to using that utility?
It is almost like it isn't seeing the files I copied to that obb folder as it is trying to download them from the play store.
However, from the terminal I type: ./adb shell ls -l /sdcard/Android/obb/com.blizzard.wtcg.hearthstone
-rw-rw-r-- root sdcard_rw 520425822 2014-12-17 21:09 main.738702.com.blizzard.wtcg.hearthstone
-rw-rw-r-- root sdcard_rw 22 2014-12-17 21:01 patch.738702.com.blizzard.wtcg.hearthstone
And both the files are there and should have okay permissions?
What happens is this when I try to launch it:
I can't post links, these forums are freaking annoying to post in, have to captcha every freaking post.

Ok, I got it working on my Fire TV (after installing play store), but a couple of weird items:
1) I couldn't get the obb files working when I used adb. The directory structure from adb seems a bit different. When I installed them using ES File Explorer, I could get the app to run and play through the tutorials, but when I tried to log in it would freeze at the main screen.
2) I assumed it had something to do with using a Google APK without the Play store, so I installed the Play store using the guide off AFTVNews (GRRR...can't post links yet!).
3) Hearthstone worked! Played through a match in casual (yayyy finished a 60 gold quest), a bit laggy but totally playable (you'll need a mouse obviously)
4) When I look at what hearthstone installed, adb shows the .obb files under /data/media/obb/com.blizzard.wtcg.hearthstone. ES File explorer shows them under /sdcard/Android/obb/com.blizzard.wtcg.hearthstone.
Anyways, it doesn't appear to be a space issue as it worked after installing google play....do you happen to have google play installed? Not going to mess with it tonight (as it's working), but I may try moving it to an external drive on the weekend. It's a bit large for the tiny amount of space a Fire TV has...

Thanks, I will try installing play store tomorrow, think that could be my problem, along with my obb files not being right (I messed up extension, think I fixed it but not sure) I am going to try redoing everything tomorrow.
Eric

Yes I have google play installed on my FTV

Hi,
I´ve got installed Hearthstone on my AFTV. Thank you for this guide!
The game starts, but the first thing I have to do in the game to start is to touch the screen. I tried to emulate the touch with my AFTV Remote. That doesn´t work.
Please can you tell me how to play Hearthstone without touch? My AFTV is unfortunatelly not rooted. I bought it new with unrootable FW

Another sideload option?

I have nothing to do with this program. I just saw this post on XBMC forum. I have downloaded it and it says it connects. But I haven't used it yet. But it may be another option for people having problems loading apps. Here is the post.
adbFire is a companion program for Android XBMC, (Gotham only). It allows you to sideload XBMC (and other apps) and push files to XBMC subdirectories without the hassle of downloading the Android SDK and other tools. Everything you need is built into adbFire.
Download here
I tested this d/l on a non-dev win7 machine, it installed and ran fine. Thanks for helping me test this.

It won't let me post a link to the download because I am a new user. This is in the Amazon Fire TV thread on XBMC forum.Sorry.
You don't need the entire SDK to sideload. Just 3 files adb.exe , AdbWinApi.dll and AdbWinUsbApi.dll. This app just has these embedded. It's not really another option, it's just another method. Ie: Different ways to skin a cat.

Trying to update XBMC and won't go

Im trying to update my XBMC install to the latest release of 13.2.
When in terminal I can connect to the device no issues. However when I issue the command adb install -r xbmc-13.2-Gotham-armeabi-v7a.apk
It simply just sits there and does nothing. No error messages or anything.
Am I missing some sort of step? I don't want to use the adbFire app to side load it because I will lose all my current config.

Rename the apk file without any dashes or periods. Try something like xbmc132.apk.

It worked perfectly fine once i plugged myself into the fireTV using a ethernet cable.. shared the connection from my macbook to it and then it went through.
Guess maybe it takes so much longer through the wireless that it times out or something?

I remember having gotham 13.1 and went straight to kodi just using ADBFire. I didn't do it via DOS as I see everyone do it. Is this ok? I got another unit here that's running kodi but I want to put gotham 13.2 and I want to use ADB fire. I just select install APK select my file and it's done. Is that ok? or do I need to do it the long way?
You could always sideload a browser and ES to use it's download manager and just install the .apk if you're on the new firmware. If you're not, can use a SQL editor the enable install from unknown sources and 'then install it.
I didn't find -r switch option in ADBFire, you may overwrite the old setting without it?? I just used DOS adb install -r gatham132.apk, it worked fine.

[GUIDE] Delete "Temporary files and Preview Build Updates" that are stuck

EDIT: I'm going to assume this method would also allow you to cancel an update/prevent installation of an unwanted build. I have not tested this, however I can't imagine why it wouldn't work, so long as you have not started the installation.
If you're like me and cant update your device any longer because the Temporary Files are filling up your device memory, then follow this guide and hopefully you'll be downloading the latest update in no time.
Problem: Windows Update downloads a preview build but never installs it, then begins downloading the next, and the next, until eventually it has eaten up all of your phone memory. I'm not sure if this is a bug that occurs on specific builds, devices, or under odd circumstances. Regardless of how and why it happens, its EXTREMELY inconvenient and prevents you from updating your device any further. It would seem that the only solution is to Hard Reset your device, but I was not content with doing this, so I dug deep and found a solution.
Cure: Manually delete the temporary files using a PC, Windows Explorer, and a third party app called Unlocker.
LINK for Unlocker: http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/unlocker.html (I'm not sure how much this really helped as I never seen any direct interaction between the program and the files being deleted, however I was unsuccessful in deleting the files previously WITHOUT it, so I assume it is necessary.) During installation, choose Advanced and uncheck the Toolbar installation if you don't want that installed.
After searching through the phone's system files, I managed to find where the temporary files are stored, and eventually i was able to delete them.
Pre-Requisites: A PC, Full FileSystem Access on your device, and Unlocker (deletes files Windows says are undeleteable).
1. After installing Unlocker, go to your Start Menu and run the Unlocker Assistant. Then start Unlocker, navigate to the following directory in the window that appears: This PC\Windows phone\Phone\Data - Click OK and the box closes.
2. Navigate to the following directory in Windows Explorer:
This PC\Windows phone\Phone\Data\PROGRAMDATA\SOFTWAREDISTRIBUTION\Download
Note: Be patient while this directory loads; there's over 1000 folders within it.
3. Highlight the folders all at once or in groups. I chose to do it in groups for performance reasons.
4. After Highlighting the folders, PRESS the DELETE button on your keyboard. I say press DELETE because right-clicking them and bringing up the context menu could cause Windows Explorer to hang for a long time. I found simply pressing the DELETE button instantly brings up the confirmation window without any performance problems.
5. After all folders have been deleted, disconnect your device and go back to your Storage app to check that the Temporary Files says 0bytes.
6. Go to Updates and click Retry. Your phone should now look for and begin downloading the latest build available to you depending on the ring you've selected.
7. Congratulations! You're Done!
nice

2. I installed Project my screen app and after re-plugging the device it worked successfully
3. I uninstalled Project my screen app and also the drivers in Device manager .
4. Then I plugged in my device and checked again to delete those files and BOOM it worked !

The easiest way to delete the pending files from "Preview Build Updates" is setting the date 50 years forward and restart the phone. No hack is required.

AirDroid on AFTV Stick?

Is anyone able to get sideload AirDroid onto there Amazon FireTV Stick (non-rooted)? I always get DEXOPT error or something like that during the actual install process. From what little reading I did it looks like its due to android SDK version apk was made with and version SDK that is installed on fire stick or something.
Thanks,

Have you tried pushing it to the sdcard and just installing it manually?
Side note-what are you trying to do? Push notifications and texts to the AFTV?
I mainly use it to view and control the screen of many of my android based devices as well as the camera in most of my android devices over the internet. Yes i have tried manually installing via adb command but always get the same error.

I just got it working... by downloading and sideloading the latest version in rev 3 (3.2.6) from here: airdroid(DOT)en(DOT)uptodown(DOT)com/android/old.
Out of the box, it works fine for transferring files through wifi (which can also be done with ES File Explroer easily). It also works as a keyboard input and screen mirror when USB connected to PC.
HOWEVER, there are several options for AirDriod that can only be enabled through the Firestick interface, and, at least for me, cannot actually be accessed (like it wants touchscreen input typically found on phones).
Overall, I'm missing the benefit of having it running in it's current state. ES File Explorer does file transfer fine. I can't really see the application of screen mirror and keyboard control when it must be plugged in to my pc. It's pretty useless in t's current form, imho.
Update: Also, since it's an outdated version, it will not work over the web portal.

Kodi for my FireTV

Hey everyone,
I already try to get this running or even installed since a while now. But all the apps that all this great tutorials name me are not being found on the firetv anymore. I can't install them or even find them. I already turned on that I can install any harmfull application I want and so on, but I am running low on ideas how I get this first step done. It won't let me download any downloader app to install Kodi on it.
Anyone know a way?
AFTVnews is the spot for FTV everything. He wrote his own downloader app, got it in the amazon store, and has a guide on how to use it.

Once it's running, install the Kodi Android Installer addon inside Kodi for easy updates.
The problem is, even though I activated all the necessary stuff, it won't let me download the Downloader or ES Explorer, or any other kind of sideloader. It always tells me that it can't find that application.
Install adbLink from jocala.com on your pc. Start it and set up your device with the right IP. Then find the option within adbLink to install android apps on your device.
