Flashtool disconnects after 1 minute - Xperia Z1 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hope someone can solve this for me please.
Trying to flash stock ftf, but when i connect phone in flashmode, it connects fine then after exactly 1 minute it disconnects and boots normally. Don't want to start flash process in case it disconnects half way through. It will stay connected in fastboot mode for as long as I like without rebooting. Very strange. Anyone had similar problem?

The auto-disconnect on idle is normal in flash mode. This is why you are prompted to put it into flashmode right after selecting the ftf and flashtool finishing preparing the files. Once it starts flashing, it's not in idle mode so it won't disconnect.

Thank you my friend, was worried it would wake up during the flashing process and bork it. I'll give it a go when I get the chance.

[Q] how to fix bricked phone plz help

so my phone r800i xperia play i tried to get cm9 aqnd when it told me to fastboot
reboot the device to cwm it didnt turn on and when i press on button it just makes a buzz and it connects to my comp it like 1 min and the red light flickers while its pluged in to my computer using usb then it pops up unkown device plugged in your pc.then fails to install it help fastboot and flash mode wont turn on.
i asked my cousin who worked with these problems he says you have to do some complex thing on your computer. Any other way i might send it to sony.
it keeps poping up that it cannot recognize my usb plugged in .
Try downloading and running the update service:
http://sony-ericsson-update-service.en.uptodown.com
This should flash your phone back to default (stock) ROM I believe. It worked for me when I deleted /system
Flashtool is much better that SEUS in my opinion. Much more flexible.
When my Play would be rebooting constantly I:
1. Connected it to pc, Let it recognize my device
2. Before it would reboot again, I took the battery out.
3. Entered fastboot mode
4. Flashed new firmware

[Q] Flash mode not working properly.

So after my comedy of errors that was my playing around yesterday, I got my phone working again. Now I want to try again (and quit before the point that I broke it yesterday). However in fixing it I upgraded to 253 firmware, and I want to go back to 434. however I open up FlashTool get my ftf ready to flash, turn the phone off. Next step is volume down and plug in the USB cable, but instead of the light coming up green, it flashes green then immediately red (or possibly vice versa) then the light goes off, but FlashTool still thinks it's connected and in flash mode until I remove the cable. The battery has been a little bit drained through all of this. so I'm going to pump it up overnight and try again in the morning and hope that it just won't enter flash mode under X% battery, but if that's not the case has anyone ever run into this previously? or have any suggestions?
I have a locked bootloader, and it cannot be unlocked so fastboot options are out of the question. However it is worth noting that when I hold the volume up and plug in the USB cable, the blue light does stay on and I can gather info using FlashTool.

U want to flash 434 back right? So u need to enter flash mode which is volume up + connect to PC.

Volume up does fastboot, volume down does flash mode. When I hold volume down the problem is the LED flashes Green, then immediately red then turns off and then will not continue flashing.

Can you tell me how did you solve the problem? Because right now I'm having the sam thing on my ZL... I'm trying it with the newst flashtool, the light is green and turns into red and nothing happens...
Do a hard reset on it (using the button on the back), don't turn it on and follow the Flashtools flashing process
1.- Open Flashtools
2.- Flash mode > Flashmode > Select the FTF you just downloaded (The one of 700+MB) > Flash
3.- Connect your Phone in Flash mode (It will start flashing).
4.- Boot your phone and you're ready to go.
When selecting the FTF just select it and leave everything as it is and make sure that you have installed the drivers for flashing (
They are where found you installed Flashtools
In a folder called Drivers, open the .exe and Install these:
- Fastboot drivers
- Flashmode drivers
- Xperia Z and SO-02E drivers
If stills doesn't works I can't help any far as that, but I would suggest you that If you are able try to flash it on another computer (It might sound silly but It could actually work ), also make sure that you're running the latest Flashtool which is v0.9.11.0 and can be found here: http://androxyde.github.io/
That is quiet normal, green appears...red or whatever....out, flashmode connected, look into flashtool.....fine, no light on the phone....flash, but have an eye into flashtool after 1 or 2 minutes if you don't start flashing your phone disconnects automatically...and will stay on charging only.

It would be fine, but tha flashtool displays some kind of instructions when it asks you to connect your phone in flashmode, and I connect it holding down the volume down key + connect AND then that instructions window should close automatically BUT that is just not happening. I've tried it 30 times already, all the drivers on, flashtool recognizes my phone when i start it... It is just not getting in flashmode! Is there any other way to flash the phone without flashmode??? I can get in fastboot I think, because if I press the volume up key while connecting the blue led is on, so it works.
I'm ready to donate for someone who can help me to get this phone work!

Anyway thx for your reply!
what version of Flashtool are you using? If it is the newest from the Androxyde's site, that wouldn't work for me either, you need to use the beta release. There should be a link above to the thread where they update the beta releases.

I have the same problem
I am on unlocked bootloader Xperia L i tried everyting but no help......drivers and all are fine
Just making sure you are doing it correctly you turn off the phone, hold the volume down Jerry and then connecting the usb cable?
Sorry for digging. I hope it helps other people.
You have problem with drivers. You need to turn off driver signature enforcement - search google for "testsigning on". Apply it in cmd, reboot pc. Then install flashtool drivers (fastboot and flashmode, then reboot for being sure) and then try to flash. Cheers
I have Sony M4 aqua fastboot mode is working but flash mode the light is green but flash tool cant recognise it nothing happens

[Q] Stuck on sony logo

Hi,
My phone is stuck at sony logo, after install a custom rom (RomAur). I have locked BL, and I put my phone into fastboot mode and im tryng to fix it with flashtool (pc recognize the phone). Can I flash a rom in fastboot? it doesn´t work into flashmode. Any help? (As you can see im new in this topics...)
Did you try download stock ftf - run flashtool - choose the ftf, when ask for the phone ... push the off button for 5s (behind the phone next to sd slot), then put the phone in flash mode (vol. down) - connect your usb, phone should flash.

Every ZL/Z is meant to work in Flash Mode, just reset the phone by holding the OFF button on the back panel where the SD-card and SIM card are placed. Disconnect your phone from the computer, hold the OFF button until it vibrates THREE times (hold it for 3 seconds it vibrates twice (hard restart), hold for 5 it vibrates thrice(forced flashmode)) soon after plug in the phone into your computer (along with the proper drivers installed from Flashtool in (or wherever you installed it) C:/FlashTools/Drivers (these drivers are SOE-blah, ADB, and fast boot mainly located at the bottom.) Once you've accomplished this, head on over to the Android Development section download a FTF file and restore. If you wish to keep all your data try reinstalling RomAur with proper installation instructions, due to my lack of experience with that rom I cannot give you the best advice other than if you have CWM installed it's an option to constantly flash other roms/zips to possibly fix your scenario. Good luck!
I'll give you more details now, about my problem.
1.- My phone was OK (rooted and with CWM) running Hackit custom rom.
2.- I install RomAur, then on reboot the phone got stuck on sony logo (it means, sony logo, and then reboot, sony logo and then reboot, infinite loop). Pressing OFF button (back next to the SD) it restarts the phone but the infinite loop continues.
3.- I installed flashtool (drivers, etc)
4.- I run the phone and then pressing VOL DOWN and plugin the usb cable at the same time it puts on yellow light (i dont know what mode it is). Infinite loops stops, phone is off and battery charging icon is displayed.
5.- On yellow light then i disconnect the phone and then pressing VOL DOWN and reconnecting flashtool recognize it ("28/024/2013 20:24:13 - INFO - Device connected in flash mode"). No light on the phone. If i do the same but with VOL UP it runs fastboot (blue light).
6.-On flashmode, I press the flash device button (black beam icon), it ask for mode, i choose flashmode. Then i select the ftf. and flashtool displays
28/043/2013 20:43:29 - INFO - Preparing files for flashing
28/044/2013 20:44:07 - INFO - Device disconnected
And the infinite loop returns...
If i pressthe powe off button nothing happens, it vibrates only one time, every restart on the loop
HELP! and thanks for your answers
From your comments, get to your step 5. Meaning get your phone off. Run flashtool choose stock ftf when it asked for the phone. Holding Vol.Down plug in usb - this should reset your phone and get you going.

[Q] Xperia Ion Lt28At Bootloop

Hello all.
I hate to post this, but I cannot find an answer anywhere. I've scoured the web for 4 days now, and cannot find an answer.
I have an Lt28at that had Cwm on it. I flashed a rom (which I later found out was a Jellybean rom) and needless to say, I'm in a bootloop.
I power on my phone, it displays the Sony logo, black screen, reboots back to the Sony logo, and so on. Cwm is gone, I've tried powering on while holding back, while holding Volume Down, while holding Volume Up, and even trying Cwm again.
I've read where people talk about flashmode, but I can't seem to get access to this if the Lt28at has it.
There seems to be no working method for me and I think I may have a paperweight.
If anyone happens to know what to do, I'm all ears.
Thanks!
~Preston556
I'm having the exact problem as you with the same phone. The thing is even when you hard reset the phone, when it starts charging again, eventually will start boot looping again and its impossible to put the ION in flashmode that way.
Can you take apart your phone and disconnect the battery from the mainboard? I just bought the tools for that I'm and waiting for them to ship. I don't think I'll have any luck for what I said before though.
What might actually works is charge the battery outside the phone (A ultra pain) and then use SEUS to recover the phone. I have not tried to see if SEUS recognizes my phone when it's boot looping. I will install Windows XP on a spare partition and try that out.
Will subscribe this thread, please help us people!
Try This
Dude,
I have bootlooped loads of phones in my time and its easy to sort out.
How to fastboot flash boot img
1) Download from XDA minimal fastboot and ADB drivers – from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=42407269
2) Install and run as admistrator – this will open a command window
3) Connect phone in fastboot mode, turn off the device, hold volume up and then connect your usb cable, the phone should he be in fastboot mode
4) In the command window enter the following – fastboot devices – this will show if your phone is connect by returning something like the image attached
5) Now you need to extract the boot img file from the rom you want to install, do this using winzip which can be downloaded from the internet.
6) You then need to open the location of your fastboot file and paste in the boot img file
7) Enter the following command into the command window – fastboot flash boot boot.img
8) Then use the command – fastboot reboot
9) Your phone should now boot up correctly with no error.
Our bootloaders are blocked thanks to AT&T, so that will be impossible! I cant even enter in fastboot mode
I see,
This is going to be tricky then, do either of you have a working recovery?
Is the phone recognised when connected via USB?
Sent from my Xperia S, made awesome by XDA.
It seems like no, just boot loops displaying the sony logo and thats all!
Hmmm,
ok this is the only other thing I got but its pretty hardcore.
First download flashtool and the latest Tft for your phone.
and the process goes like this !
1.open flashtool !*
2.turn off your phone and remove the battery !
3.click on the flash button on the flashtool.
4. at MODE SELECT --- select FLASHMODE --- click OK*
5. FIRMWARE SELECTION --- select SOURCE FOLDER ----- [....] will help u browse to the file location select it then !
6. WIPE ---check both WIPE DATA and WIPE CACHE
7. the click OK
8. After few sec it will ask for usb connection so PUT YOUR BATTERY BACK AND CONNECT YOUR PHONE TO COMPUTER BY PRESSING VOLUME DOWN BUTTON ON THE RIGHT !
9. wait till the process is over
10. unplug your device and wait it will take some time to boot up don't worry just stay calm*
Your phone should then be fully working

Thanks alot for your help! I'm waiting for my tools to ship, i hope to get them by monday and do that, but unplugging the battery isn't the same as hard reseting the device?

Red LED, No Boot Because of My Idiot Moment

Just happened today, I root the phone with kingroot, then installed XZDualRecovery to remove the kingroot and replaced them with SuperSU. One thing led to another, instead of flashing the SuperSU package, I end up formatting the internal storage. Nothing left there. Luckily I managed to realized my mistake in time, before rebooting the phone. So I download the flashable stock rom, planning to copied via MTP, then flash it to restore my phone. Two hours later, the download finished - yes, sadly, it took that much time here to download 1++ GB, and I still considered it fast - That 2 hours of being bored unfortunately led to another stupid mistake. I rebooted the phone before I copied and flashed the downloaded stock rom :crying:
TWRP only only offers me to flash the SuperSU package, then rebooted. Needless to say, the phone is dead. Just the red LED laughing constantly of my stupidity.
Quick Googling tells me the symptom pretty much the same with hardbricked ZL. Red LED, no Fastboot, No Flashmode. Pressing the button at the side of SDCard slot only make the phone vibrates, show Sony Logo, then blank. Okay, time to get panic, time to light a cigarette and take a distance for a bit to cleared out my head.
That done, I start googling to troubleshoot the problem. Quick search reveal the tools I need to recover the phone. I need Flashtool, ftf stock rom, good cable data, probably EMMA too. Unfortunately, the Flashtool only available through torrent, which has no peers, so I have to look somewhere else to get it. Wasn't ideal, but what a heck, I need to recover this phone.
Once all the tool in place, time to execute. Several guides I've found tells me I need to flashed the stock ftf with flashtool. But even with the cable plugged and constant pressing on the all available button (power, vol up, down and sdcard side button) can't make the phone recognized by the computer. I've tried every combination of cable plugged/unplugged, button pressed/depressed, all to no availed. Desperation seeps in.
Okay, time to take another break, another cigarette, and charge the phone for a bit. Afterward, I choose to tried to work on the phone recovery using linux. Maybe windows messed up somehow with the driver thingy that prevent me to fix the phone. No such luck unfortunately. Linux also failed to detect the phone. Hmmpppphhhh... Back to windows then.
I fired up the flashtool, pressed to lightning button, choose flashmode, pick the ftf files, then pressed the yellow button on the side of sdcard slot continually. The phone vibrates, 3x, I keep pressing, then it vibrates again 1x, but no respond from the computer, so I keep on pressing it. It vibrates again in 3x, paused, 1x, long paused rhythm. Then something happened, the LED turn green, and the windows notifying something happened. The log column of the flashtool start filling with lines, but end up in lost connection with the phone. Its a progress though, so I turned the phone off for a bit, to restart the process again. What I've done:
1. Start the flashtool.
2. Wait till it finished the initial detection.
3. Pressed the lightning button in flashtool.
4. Choose the Flashmode.
5. Choose the ftf files to be flashed, then pressed the flash button.
6. Pressed the button at the side of the sdcard slot continually - using a bamboo toothpick - until the LED turn green.
7. Let the flashing process done.
8. Restart the phone.
Voila, the phone boot normally, showing the sony logo, then the blue wave then it boot to the wizard screen with low batt warning. So I plugged it to a charger, then proceed with the wizard. The funny thing is, I swear I had more than 90% battery before I entered my special idiot mode. Apparently all of that red led period drained the battery fast. So after I finished the wizard, I put the phone on airplane mode to accumulate enough juice (till 9%) then I test to reboot the phone to make sure it really work. And it does. So I turned it off, to charge faster so I can start updating the firmware (I used C6502_10.5.A.0.230_10.5.A.0.230.ftf) and sets the phone straight again.
So that's how I spend my quality time today. Not much, but hopes it can help anyone out there with the similar problem. Cheers.
Very informativ.
Thank you for sharing your experience. I've found it very useful.
seriously a big thanks. thats a lot of effort. cheers to you. even though i dont need it now (hoping i dont end up like that) its still a great gesture from you.
