I'm absolutely stumped here so I'm reaching out to the XDA community a LG tech support is pretty useless at this point. Should have reached out here first anyway.
My LG G3 is rooted running stock 4.4.2. According to the memory settings I've got the following:
System ROM 2.64 GB with 744 MB free
Internal Storage of 26.8 GB with 16.2 GB free
External SD Card of 62.8 GB with 26.9 GB free
I've cleared the system and apps cache, cleared dalvik cache, cleared Google Play store cache, uninstalled Google Play updates.
After that I'm stumped on what to do.
Anyone have any thoughts or ideas about what to do short of a hard reset?
Try this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/help/fix-insufficient-storage-error-app-t2181601 It's helped me out in the past.

I have HTC Desire with InsertCoin GB ROM 1.05 (not CM), used just for several days. Of course, almost all apps are moved to SD storage except few like Go Apps and small system utilities.
Today I started to get message that storage space is too low - just about 200K. I have moved GoSMS app to SD, then Gmail, and process hangs. GoSMS successfully moved to SD, while Gmail simply disappeared at all. After restart free space on internal memory left only 100K (yes, even less space then before).
Fixing permissions from ROM manager didn't help, so I wiped out cache partition. Free space increased to 65MB. Wiping dalvik cache increased it further to 72 MB.
I have very few data on phone, several hundred contacts and 20 SMS messages, virtually nothing else.
Now DiskUsage app reports this data:
Data - 194.7 MiB
Applications - 122 MiB
Free - 72.7 MB
I feel something is not right there. I can't understand why there so much data - almost 195 MB. Looks like some app draining free space on internal memory. I did video recording today on SD card, may be video recorder is buggy? I also had Locus map for some time, but then I deleted it with Uninstaller App.
Another possible clue - HTC Car Panel uses 50 MB for maps. Where they are? On internal memory?
Anyone can suggest what could cause this problem?
Thanks in advance for any suggestion(s).
Dalvik cache is on the internal memory and can be huge depending on apps installed
try moving the dalvik cash to your SD, you can use Terminal off the market to move it, youll also need busybox - take a look http://code.google.com/p/android-roms/wiki/A2SD
Also InsertCoin may have an option to move it using a pre-installed app, i know RCMix s 1.7 as a cool app to do it, i would be surprised in the InsertCoin builds didn't have it as well.
Or use a data2sd RoM and have the worry of space gone
Try this:

Hey, I'm a noob running the kingdom shooter sense 3.0 rom on my evo. When I try to install more apps i get a message saying that the internal memory is full. I only have about 70 apps which take up 197.9 mb after some have been moved to the sd card. With system data taking up 237 MB, that leaves 251 MB of "free space." And yet I get the internal memory full message. I did a little research and found that my problem might be that I'm running out of cache space for new apps. But clearing caches with cachemate doesn't seem to help. Does anyone know what I can do? Sorry if this has been addressed in another thread, I couldn't find anything that helped.
Hi all,
Running a bit low on storage space at the moment.
In settings it says that I have 66mb internal mem free for apps but when I try to download and install an app like Google goggles (roughly 5 mb) it says internal memory low
Cleared cache on Google Play store and dalvik cache using supercharger (if that helps) but that didn't help... any suggestions?
On another note, if I install link2sd does my stock kernel ICS .562 support a ext4 partition?
Cheers!
Im getting the same issue here. Im running Official ICS and have deleted the bloatware and un-needed system apps.
My internal says 56mb but cant install apps without deleting one or two that i dont use or move to sd.

Try a RAM/cache cleaner from the market, there are a few free good ones. And yes, ext4 is supported.
Sceptical of so many memory "fixes" I did grab one for the market, Memory Booster Lite (Tablet) by Imoblife Inc. I thought I don't need more menory I need more space, was down to 37 megs out of 252 after moving all I could to SD, and only installed not even 20 apps. After install not even a reboot, back up to 122. I sure hope that some fixes are in the works for ICS updates as the internal memory on my GB 2.3.6 phone is 1.5 gigs and again only 252 megs on my ICS 4.03 tablet. When someone comes up with a way to "partition magic" these parts let me know becasue this is nuts.
Thanks again for the insight as I can now continue to load up my tablet with useless stuff

Thanks for your response. I have tried quite a few of these cleaners but they don't really do the job for me. Ram/cache cleaners seem to be temporary and for cache it just builds itself up again after a reboot.
Managed to delete some useless system apps/data which has also sped up my system quite a bit.
I will give the ext4 a try when I get some time.
Cheers,
I also have the same problem but worse I only use about 7 phone only apps roughly 50mb altogether and it says I only got 9% (about 36mb) left.
Last time this happened I wiped my phone, but as the weeks go by the free memory keeps going down even though I don't install anything else.
I currently use zdbox task killer & official Sony rom.
If someone can find a solution to this, please tell.

i think you can try use ext 2 if problem with ext4..
or you can partition your sd card via recovery, and give swap memory about 256MB..
install link2 sd aplication and then choose ext 2 (first time you open link2sd app)
and reboot your phone..
and from link2sd app you can move all apps to sd card..
you can also make link2sd automatic link your apps..
you should use the app link2sd to solve that problem...
Don't think you understand.. all the apps I installed in the phone should only take about 10% memory including cache etc.
I rooted and pretty much moved every app. The only ones that stayed were for stability reasons such as smart keyboard or beautiful widgets.
Basically only solution I found so far is a hard reset, but after about 4 months it will be back to 9% again.

OK, so I wil be switching from my Verizon CDMA PLAY to an unocked AT&T model to use on Tmo. On my VZ play I have around 170mb of free internal storage left, everything with the excpetion of a few GL games are on the SD card via Titanium backup.
Here is the issue. I am recreating the exact same process on the GSM PLAY with several different ROMS. First it was NXT2JB, but I had issues with FC... then I tried NXT lite, then I just went to this ftf ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1326459 ) and I have everything from my CDMA version installed the exact same way as the CDMA model except that I hae 37mb of internal storage. And according to TB I only have around 130mb of used unternal storage from the GL games.
I am not doing Dalvik to Cache or anything, (even when I did attempt that, I started having apps disappear from my phone, even though the market said they were installed, they were gone)
Needless to say I am stumped. I cannto figure out where all this storage is going. Again I have the exact setup as my CDMA which has 170mb of free internal storage, while the same setup on .42 ftf has only 37mb and giving me the low space warning.
Can anyone tell me why I am running into this, and possible where to look to see where the hell all my internal storage is going?
Edit: ALso when I attempt to do Supercharger V6 I get an error that there is an imcompatible memroy app installed,..
Also just to add this is the thread I was using on my Verizon PLAY
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1174160
And doing so on this new phone is what makes my apps disappear.....
OK, just read that the Dalvik hack does not work on 2.3.4 So if that is the case is there another Dalvik hack or will I have to resort to Links2SD?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.buak.Link2SD&hl=en
Can someone please clairfy it for me if I am mistaken. If it is possible to do a dalvik hack I would rather do that then Link2SD.
Anyone?
I can confirm the daliche cache hack doesn't work on 2.3.4. Only 2.3.3 and below But I do use Link2sd which is the beest.
