Ok, I've been searching and trying tons of different roms all weekend, and I just can't find one that has everything working for some reason. Mainly, I need bluetooth tethering and NFC to both be working in the same rom, as well as all basic functions. I did try Omega V24 which seemed perfect with bluetooth theter option and NFC working, except with it all my peripherals stoped (no wifi, no GPS, etc). Can anyone make a recomendation for a rom that has everything or almost everything including NFC and bluetooth tether working? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Have you tried hyperdrive

Custom roms will be a hit or miss deal, at times reliability is sacrificed over bells and whistles so you have to try them all.
I stick to stock /rooted.

Which rom do you guys prefer?
I prefer the TeamFenix 1.7.1 because of the working Wi-Fi tether, don't know about whether or the Bluetooth is working yet because I don't use it. and I haven't had any force closes, battery life is pretty decent considering how much time I spend using the internet on it
They're both the same to me. Both have working bluetooth but no bluetooth audio which is why I am not using them. Anyone know any key differences in the roms?

TeamFenix 1.7.1 uses the "android-wifi-tether, Wireless Tether for Root Users" from www.code.google.com and it works right out the gate without having to install anything to your computer or modify any APNs. just start app, tap the start button, allow Super User permissions and you are up and running.
I have been using CM7 and for the most part it works pretty good but depending on the circumstances the phone could crash and/or not go back to 4G without rebooting.
It seems that certain functions like texting or applications that sync can lead to a crash so I just did a reload on a clean wipe, turned off all of the account syncing and only have gapps, market and a non syncing gmail loaded. But even with that I am still not holding the network connection the way I want and seem to have to mes with the wimax or reboot the phone to get 4G back.
My signal is good since I am on a hil, know where the 4G tower is and stick my phone way up a vent above all the other buildings.
Is there a stripped rom that is basically just a phone and a internet connection? Old nightlys, tuning suggestions or ?? that would work better and/or do a better job of forcing 4G after an interuption?
I have not loaded sense and new radios in a while if that has anything to do with it.
Thanks
Hey,
There is no so to speak best tether rom, but I have noticed others work better then some. Personally when I use cm7 each day my data speed slows I have no idea why but it does. I personally really like RCMix3d it works great smooth good battery life as a rom and I have had no complaints about tethering its been working well with me.
But if your set up is working I would just stay set with that!
Hope it helped

I suggest you use RCMix3D Runny v5.1 by sbryan12144. Its fast & smooth
Cm7 tethering works good. Its also good on miui roms on most phones. Also for those having trouble tethering. Try wireless tether 2.0.7 which works on almost everything.

I use barnacle... i like it. Super simple. Is stable.
I been using Deck's rom, but now my W7 64bit machine is having a problem with the Remote NDIS driver which I can't seem to find.
I can't go 10 minutes using wifi tether without my phone doing a soft restart or without the app just not working tried beta8-11 all the same, any help would be greatly appreciated...
*also i haven't been getting any 3g although 4g works fine, when i switch to 3g only it give me the blank signal triangle*
(rooted on stock 4.0.2)
Anybody have any idea why this happens or other alternative beside pda net, would prefer something wireless, or should i just flash a custom rom with tethering hack already in it?
Mine has the same issue.

Not sure which are updated for ICS, but have you tried any of the other WiFi Tethering apps? And the built-in Hotspot feature?
Try flashing a new kernel maybe? Could be something in there that doesn't like your stock kernel settings?
my guess its that the gnext actually have some telephony related bugs while you are on a 4g network..and google is aware of this..probably it will be solved soon with the 4.0.4/5 update
For wired I use the built in tethering in the settings. For wireless I use this: http://code.google.com/p/android-wi...ail?name=wifi_tether_v3_1-beta11.apk&can=2&q=
I've used both for over an hour with no problems. LTE, GummyNex ROM, Franco kernel.

I didn't realize that there was a new Beta out. Thanks for the link! The v3_1-pre110 version would drop my connection on a pretty regular basis.
Every device I get, needs to be used at its fullest capabilities. With the problems of T-Mo removing options like tethering and/or bluetooth tethering completely from our devices, pisses me off.
Also, I upgraded to 4.4.2 (on my Note3) but was unaware by doing so, I would lose functionality that I wanted.
I have tried most of the roms here but none have the native bluetooth tethering. Although there are alternatives to tethering to your watch, most options are too complicated or too my steps just to activate.
So, for those that want FULL functionality on their Phone and Watch and are tired of searching which rom works, try this rom out:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2470441 International Note 3
Works great, no problems at all and solves my problem
I am running: 4.4.2
Baseband- NB4
Kernel- CivZ-Snapkat
Also, I am a T-Mo customer, no problems with signals, wifi, etc.
Hope it helps someone out.
Hi
I've been using a Lollipop 5.0.1 Note 4 port ROM on my Note 3, tethering worked like a charm. I've used up to 125GB monthly for the past 4 months on T-Mobile tethering to my Mac, AppleTV, tablets, desktops, laptops... you name it. Obviously custom ROMs aren't perfect. Battery life is horrible, NFC & GPS doesn't work, Bluetooth and WiFi issues, some stock apps don't work as they should, etc...
I had to upgrade to T-Mobile's Official firmware due to a big malfunction that erased all my data and almost bricked my device. Immediately rooted and downloaded a Deodexed and Knox free Tmo firmware. In just a day I hit the cap on my 5GB tethering plan and my speeds have been reduced to 128kb... Spotify doesn't even load any music on my iPad and I don't even wanna try loading Netflix on my AppleTV.
I've been wondering wth makes a custom ROM able to tether freely and how I could apply that to my "almost" stock ROM. I've read so many threads and comments, applied some suggestions and used some apps and none works for me. I think the best workaround is to break Tmo's APN, but I can't edit it. I'm not a developer neither a noob, but any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks

From the main page of the Note 3, not the T-mobile version. I've been using Dirty Unicorns. Battery life is great at least I think. I came from an HTC One M8. The tethering works fine for me. Except there was some leakage of around 200 MB, though I think it depends what detects it. Pretty sure whenever, I update League of Legends that's what detected the leakage. Other than that. I use to play WoW and any steam games, and of course services like YouTube, Netflix, Hulu. No leakage there for certain. I myself not a big TouchWiz fan. So yes, this is your stock 5.1.1 with Dirty Tweaks of course. Give it a shot. I love the rom, but since I'm an addict, I'm always looking for something to flash on my phone. Good luck :good:
