If rooted, you can could turn your Note4 into a router with something like WiFi Tether Router. You'll need a PC or another mobile device that's compatible with Chromecast for this option. If you still have the Note2, I would use that for the router.
As for your MHL adapter, I'm guessing you have a 5pin version. If true, you need to get a 5pin-11pin adapter to get it working. They're pretty cheap at Monoprice.com., which can probably be found on Amazon.

Hey guys. I need ideas on how this would work. I'm staying at a hotel this weekend with wifi where you need to accept the terms of use before you can actually access the internet. I have stayed here before and tried using Xbox live through the wifi. It does not work because I must accept these terms. Would I be able to connect to the wifi through my phone, accept the terms of use, and then direct the wifi through my phone to the Xbox? Tether is a no go because the area has horrible coverage. Any ideas would be awesome. Thanks!

Cant you just use the XBOX browser to accept the terms and conditions and then use the wifi from your XBOX directly?
Xbox does not allow you to browse the web like the ps3 does. But thanks for the suggestion!

With a laptop you could join the wireless network then right click the network adaptor and share it with the ethernet card. From then on, ethernet from the laptop to the xbox.
You shouldn't need a cross over cable as almost all network cards are smart enough to figure things out themselves these days.

Seems easy enough. Thanks I'll try that.

That'd be the best bet here. Don't think the phone can help much in this situation.
I was wondering how to use WIFI tethering on my Note 2 since I'm rooted with the rom of choice and 1.8Ghz Kernel...
That and how do I Use Ethernet with my Note 2? I have the ethernet adapter and adapter cable but can't get it to work....
Is it possible to use Verizon aircard to get wifi on the Nexus 7? I looked around and it seems like you need to buy a travel router. Now, have anyone here actually used a travel router? My main question is can it be used to give the tablet wifi while outside, for example, like driving?
If it can, can anyone point me to one that would do exactly that. The routers that I saw needs some sort of power source (wall adapter or usb, but N7 doesn't have usb port to supply the power). Any way to make it work?
Thanks

If you have a 4G aircard, the easiest way to get it to work would be to pick up a hotspot from ebay or just buy it from Verizon depending on what you want to spend. It will have its own battery and connect via wifi. You may want to search the net to see if someone has been able to get your model aircard to work with a N7 but it probably needs power from the USB port and I don't think the N7 supplies very much.
I use my phone as a hotspot with Verizon frequently. No issues but Verizon's service is really suffering in NYC lately. Also try FreedomPop (depending on where you live you can get free 500mB) its the lowest cost data I've seen.
So I have a tmobile note 3 with unlimited 4glte and im tired of paying 19.99 for my 1 mbps cable internet. I also have a bunch of Ethernet wired devices and don't want to spend 100 bucks for a bunch of wifi usb's and wifi ethernet adapters.
Im trying to connect my phone via wifi hotspot to my netger wrg 614 router. The router CAN be used as a repeater but it can only repeat wep encrypted signal. My note will only encrypt to wpa2 psk. sooo im looking for alternatives. Im thinking http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833122373
this might work as a modem ?
If anyone has an alternative Id be super appreciative to hear it.
In case anyone wondered this setup works quite well. The adapter takes only a moment to setup and connects all my wired devices easily.
I work as a Cable/Internet installer. Customers have the choice of opting-out of WiFi to save $5.00 monthly. However, they always want to run a speed test to ensure they are getting the correct speeds. I don't trust any customer's computer or router when testing speeds because they often have faulty equipment, cheap equipment, or laptops that are too slow for me to wait on.
I purchased a cheap USB OTG adapter and a USB Ethernet adapter. I tested this on my Stock T-Mobile Note 8 while in airplane mode and everything works flawlessly. I was able to connect, browse the web, as well as run a speed test using Ookla's app.
When I try the same thing on my Note 4 running the latest final build of PaulPizz's ROM, it does not work.
Question: Are there any kernels available that have this option enabled? Are there any ROMs with this option enabled?
