Try getting it from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2706441
Download the whole rom and unzip it, you'll find a file call boot.img
Extract it out and flash that to your device in fastboot by using fastboot flash boot boot.img

How can u go back to stock?

Hi,
You can just re-flash a stock rom for your model (X90xx) or use the Chinese app provided on the official coloros site to come back to a stock up to date firmware of coloros for your device.

Stock ROM won't flash on a custom recovery.
You'll need to flash the stock recovery using fastboot first. Then the stock ROM.

Did u find a solution I'm on the boat....
Get the img file of the stock recovery and flash it in the fastboot mode of the phone.
The command is Fastboot flash recovery name of file.img
Acquire the stock recovery .img file. Rename it recovery.img
Open a command prompt and navigate to the folder with the recovery.img and make sure you have the proper adb files in that folder.
Make sure your Find 7 is in bootloader mode and connected via usb.
Type fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Wait a second and that's it. That's how you flash any recovery on most android devices with an unlocked bootloader.

Hi,
I am currently running the 5.1 version of the Digital High GPE rom and would like to flash the stock kernel. I looked some on htcdev but all I found was the kernel source. Is there any place that I can find a flashable zip that will install the stock kernel? Thanks!

You can find a firmware zip there with the stock boot img included.

Awesome! So I extracted the boot.img from the zip file. Now, just to confirm, all I have to do is use the command "fastboot flash boot boot.img" and I should be set with the stock kernel? Thanks!

Which is why extracting the boot.img from the GPE ROM as I stated in the thread that I linked to is the better option.

So if I flash the boot.img from the stock rom like you stated, do I also have to flash the modules?

You'll receive the OTAs as long as you are on the stock ROM, you just won't be able to flash them.
Download the OTA, and choose to install later.
Transfer it to your PC and open it with 7zip.
Look for the firmware.zip, and unzip it. Inside is the recovery.img
Put the recovery.img into your fastboot folder, hook your phone up to you PC, and
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot reboot
You'll now be able to install the OTA.

Hi.
You will need to download the stock ROM zip files for your phone's model and check for droidboot.img file in it. That is the recovery file for stock ROM.

Hope you read this on time.
droidboot.img in not the recovery image, is the bootloader image (so don't flash as recovery.img) and even more, you won't find the .196 recovery image inside the stock Rom.
https://mega.nz/#!gcBSSapa!cIyweU7vMV6940B2MD17hvklYT4IidMaMOa7L46LcsQ
This is a zip package that you can install using TWRP to flash the .196 stock recovery, or you can unzip the file and you will have the recovery.img file inside, so you can use it as a backup, to flash in fastboot mode or using TWRP for install as image file instead of zip package.

There you have all the recovery files
https://yadi.sk/d/t-za9JiGmZPuw/Recovery Z00A
You can have the recovery files, that yes, are included in the RAW firmwares (just unzip the RAW file).
In other way and if you know how (I don't know, I tried but no succes http://23pin.logdown.com/posts/222680-build-zenfone-recovery-image-from-bootimg), is built the recovery.img using/paching the boot.img image and the files included in /recovery folder inside the stock ROM package.

You can find the recovery bitstream image (named recovery_sign.bin) inside the corresponding RAW file (which basically is a ZIP file).
The .196 one is here: https://yadi.sk/d/FijRoAVJtvRiG/WW_ZE551ML_2.20.40.196_20160815.raw
I'm looking for the .198 recovery.img, but haven't any success with the raw file for that version.
Could I flash a previous version of the recovery above an existing system, without reflashing it ?
Successfully unlocked bootloader, I lost my recovery by flashing a wrong TWRP and now I haven't the recovery at all.
Could you please suggest a way to reset it to stock ?
Thanks a lot

Thank you for the url.
I previously flashed the lower version of recovery and was unsuccessful. I think it doesn't work that way.
It's better to reflash completely from raw brings back to stock.
Then as you know you can unlock the bootloader, flash twrp recovery, and any custom rom like Borets ROM.
