My device is running Stock ROM 4.3 and is rooted. Would like to get S-OFF and unlock the bootloader so I may install a custom ROM. How would I go about doing so? Thanks in advance.

sunshine to s-off - costs $25 (well worth it..)
http://theroot.ninja/
I am aware of sunshine which was made for the latest HTC build. I thought there would be other solutions since I am not on the latest build. Like firewater or rumrunner.

Rumrunner hasn't worked in a while. Firewater is shut down and will never work again. Was server dependent.

Yes. I answered that in the other thread you posted. Only software method available period.
Old methods will no longer work. There is no exception so don't waste your time looking.

Rumrunner hasn't worked for about the past 4 updates. So unless the phone has been kept in a closet and not updated that would be a waste of time as well.

Rumrunner won't work with 4.3. You must be on 4.2.2. Shouldn't be long before there's a method for 4.3. Just not yet.

Works for all models. Just got root/S-OFF my VZW One the other day with no problems.
It works, I'm on 4.3 hboot 1.55. Firewater unlocked bootloader and s-off.

I can't believe it!!!! IT ACTUALLY WORKED!!!! Thank you so much!!!!!!!!
S-off worked very well, thanks. Now if I could just undo the damage from trying a custom ROM.

Silly question. Once I use firewater and achieve S-OFF, what next? just install SuperSU from the play store to have root access? Also, do you lose data with Firewater? On 2.10.605.1.
Thanks.
No data loss, but you have to flash cwm or tarp and install superuser from there. At least I think, I'm kinda new at this too.

I believe after you gain S-off you have to install a custom recovery. Then you'll have to flash a ROM with SU in it.
ive tried every method out there the rum runner method failed ( after booting a few times it says f****************************************** in the command line then it says hit enter to exit) the weak sauce method failed. ( when i hit i agree it says root failed) is there any simple way of unlocking this phone or getting s off so i can flash a custom rom.
im on the latest update that came out for this phone. i have all of the correct fastboot and adb drivers.
can anyone please help?
Until an unlock method comes out, you are SOL. There isn't an exploit yet for the sense6 update

Sense 5.5 you use weaksauce and firewater to s-off. It is the Sense 6 update that currently cannot get root

Dear all,
Is it possible to receive OTA Update if we are living out of USA? I'm living in Brazil and currently 4.4.2 with sense 5.5 and I'd to uptade to sense 6.0.
Here we have only GSM net, any possibility for using CDMA or a Verizon net, I'm using my HTC ONE Verizon in global mode (GSM)
Could someone help me on this or give any tip?
Verizon HTC One
Rom/Stock 4.4.2 - Sense 5.5:
Bootloader Locked
Cannot get the update without being on Verizon network.

You don't have to be s-off to flash a custom Rom. You have to be s-off to flash a ruu or a radio though.

Thanks, I did not know that. Guess I'm still not clear which parts of the nand are protected by S-on....
Edit: Never mind - wrong again
are there any other methods to get S-Off? I've been trying firewater for hours now and it fails every time. even tried loading roms up to the phone whilst it's copying. Nothing works. It's a standard EUR One.

This will give you S-OFF but it's a paid app. Read the whole page before proceeding

Its confirmed to work. It runs tests to make sure your device is compatible before making you buy a licence. Just make sure you have root prior.

Hello
So I tried running firewater on my One M8 but it failed. I got this 'remember the golden rule? Never take an OTA update? Apparently you don't. Device patched by HTC, you are out of luck.' Is there anything I can do? Btw I'm running CM11 if that matters.

As the many .... many threads on s-off already say :
Use a STOCK rom and a STOCK kernel and a STOCK recovery, then try firewater.....Does it fail ? Use SUNSHINE (Google it) when that fails you have to wait for SUNSHINE 3.0 (or whatever the next update will be called)
NO other way and NO other options are available !

Then i suggest to read up a bit more and learn the terms and all the things you need to know to get back to stock/how it all works/and what exactly certain things do. And most important why you need s-off and root.
Ask yourself these things first and then start modding a device.
