Is their a Google Play Edition ROM? - G Pad 8.3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My friend is thinking of getting this, but the GPE model is sold out. Is there a Google Play Edition ROM that can be flashed on the regular one, and if so, where is the thread? I've been searching for it but can't find anything.

No. There is no GPE rom for v500. But there is AOSP Lollipop rom. You wiil get allmost the same experience using it.

[Q] HTC's Music Channel on GPe

Hey all...
Was just wondering if any of our talented HTC ROM developers are able to get HTC's Music Channel working on the Google Play edition ROMs. The Viper One ROM has this working without the need for HTC's music app to be running and it works great with Google Play Music. However, it didn't work on stock 1.57 (Viper One is 1.54).
Since I don't like going backwards, I hesitate to flash a custom ROM for only one feature. I've since decided to switch to the GPe version, which just updated to 4.4.3, with no plans of returning to Sense. So, if anyone knows if it's possible to get Music Channel working on GPe, please reply.
Thanks!

Unfortunate not, there was lots of attempts. Best thing is to install a custom rom based on stock android like cyanogen.

GPE conversion

Hey guys I'm thinking about converting my phone to Google play edition, my only question is that if I do convert, will I still be able to flash other roms no problem if I'm not liking the GPE, when I day other roms I mean aokp specifically or will I have to do other things /convert back?

Read those two threads, as I guess your questions are answered there:
GPE conversion
Back to Sense
Be aware that Sense and GPE are different in partition sizes, so it depends on the question at hand: are you running a full conversion, or just installing an AOKP ROM on you sense edition after the bootloader unlock.
im saying that if i convert to google play edition CAN I FLASH AN AOKP ROM IF I DONT LIKE IT, i would NOT want to return to sense, right now i am running aokp with s off and unlocked bootloader

If you would have read the thread in my first links you would have found the following just at top of the first post ....

This will NOT work on a CDMA HTC One GSM ONLY!
PSA After converting you will not be able to flash Sense based roms due to the different size of the system partitions between the sense version and the GPe. To get back to sense please follow the steps in post #2

Can I go from a Google based ROM to a Sense ROM

I have M8-GPE on Android 5.1.
I want to go back from google play edition to a Sense ROM. I believe this wasnt possible in the past without S-Off.
Is that still the case?

Marshmallow of GS4 GPE, IS IT SAFE?

Hi guys. I found this ROM but it doens't give any detail of the GS4 models that are compatible to flash it. Here is the link so you can verify by your selves http://best-tech-reviews.com/jflte-gpe-android-6-0-marshmallow-rom-for-galaxy-s4-9531/
I have a GS4 SGH-I337M which is known as Canadian Model (I bought it on Mexico). Now the device is rooted and running @devth GPE 5.1 Lollipop ROM JFLTECAN with almost no problem, except that the dev has no time by now to keep updating the ROM (he even make his own OTA app that was amazing when it was working).
As I don't know any person who has flashed a Mashmallow ROM on a GS4 I really want to learn about any risks or specifically: which devices are compatible with the ROM menctioned at the provided link.
Excuse my english and please, have a nice week! :highfive:
