does anyone else have the issue where you set your own image as the lockscreen wallpaper and it makes it look weird? i added a screenshot to show you. it doesn't happen on the stock lg wallpapers just my own pictures even the ones i take from the phones camera. i have only had this for two days now so im not really sure how to fix it
What is weird on image?
i downloaded the Oneplus one camera and gallery apk and it turns out the gallery apk was causing the image to be noticeably squished together and moved to the side. uninstalled and now it works great

Hi, i have a trouble. I want to set my wallpaper (so i download it on PC and it is png file) And when i copy it into the phone and than i set as a wallpaper it is fuzzy.
And ROM does not matter. Any ideas how to fix it? (BTW LauncherPro Plus)
nobody knows?
what is the resolution of the wallpaper? 1024 x 768 wallpapers tend to get a bit fuzzy as the screen of your i9000 is 800 px high
no, it is 2560x1900
I don't have any issues with cropping or seeing what you are mentioning.
Have a try with the App 'Crop Wallpaper'. If it works using this method you will then know the problem may be down to an issue with your Gallery App.
The Gallery App uses a lot of compression.
Also, have you tried making a wallpaper from a photo taken with the SGS's camera?
If it works you will then know it is something to do with either the source files or the the Gallery App not liking the source files.
I know what you mean, could be some kind of crappy compression going on but sometimes i'm not sure if it's just the screen that isn't sharp enough to my liking. Banding in dark gradients is also an issue that really bugs me, if there is a solution for that I'd love to hear it.

As I mentioned above, try Crop Wallpaper.
Hi, Just installed MIUI and i have a strange issue never had before with CM or Sense.
When I select a picture to use as wallpaper and decide to crop to fit, it uses a scaled version of the picture, therefore the quality is reeeeeally bad!
Changing wallpaper like everyday, this is getting annoying....
Any ideas how to fix this?
(just remembering i never had this problem with sense before)
Thanks
*edit: added a video on youtube so you can better see it in action without having to read my ridiculously long and rambling explanation below. I tried clearing gallery app data, and that made the yellow tint appear more slowly, but didn't go away.
==========
I just started to get this weird somewhat random yellow tint in the google gallery app... it just started a few minutes ago. I've never had any problems with it before. I've had the phone for 4 weeks. This is just bizzarre!!! I've always used the stock gallery app to view photos and attach them to emails etc... no new apps installed today... however I was playing around with nova launcher and widgetsoid, but not really messing with system settings or anything...
Sometimes when swiping through photos is a gallery folder, they will all be yellowish, but when I swipe the first photo to the left (i.e. no photos to the left of the first, so you get the blue gradient telling you that you are at the end), the yellow tint will disappear.
When the list of thumbnail gallery folders are first loading, as the screen refreshes, the yellow tint is not there at first but then it appears... sometimes in different configurations... some folder thumbnails not yellowed, and others are, and some only have the folder name text yellowed.
Stock 4.0.2, rooted.
I have read some threads about yellow tints to the screen but this is completely different, it seems. As it selectively chooses content to be yellow...
Thumbnails attached... one photo in the normal and yellow screen version, and 3 screenshots of my gallery app main folder with far left normal, and then two different yellow versions of the screen...
also, swiping left and right in a gallery folder has different yellowing effects... swiping left (to scroll right) leaves the lower right corner folder un-yellowed, swiping right (to scroll left) leaves the lower left corner folder thumbnail un-yellowed... --- see attached photo comparison.. and these are screenshots not photos of the phone, so maybe that says something about what is going on maybe, that the screenshot captures the yellow tint..
Any ideas??? help!?!?!
I'd like to try and delete the gallery app and reinstall it, but not sure how best to go about that... it really seems like a software issue, and isolated to the gallery app.
PS: sorry if I broke any forum rules, but I posted a thread on phandroid too, to see if anyone there has any ideas too...
sorry to bump... I think this is an interesting and unique issue... anyone having something similar or ideas on how to approach solving?
- i've tried playing with developer and screen settings, deleting gallery app cache, killing all background processes, to no avail...
*watch the video to see the issue in action...
try a factory reset, if it still does it then it a bad phone and contact samsung
[solved] chainfire3d nightmode issue
So the color of the tint was 'amber'; this was my choice for chainfire3d nightmode, which was enabled and "on". However, nightmode seems to not work on the stock rom, except that it affects the gallery app in this way. I changed the nightmode color to blue and lo and behold... the gallery tinting was blue!!
So I turned off nightmode from within the chainfire3d app and the issue seems to be gone.
Nightmode must have been enable sometime between the last time I used the gallery and then to when I first noticed the tinting.
I'm considering uninstalling chainfire3d driver, at least until I get a custom rom... but you know what they say... if it aint broke dont fix it!
Hope this helps anyone else, if they start experiencing the issue...
Have the same issue on CM9 Alpha 0.5 on HP Touchpad.
CF.Lumen and Night Mode does not work. It just make some thumbnails red in the Gallery App...
...this was intended to go on the chainfire app thread...
Has anyone got the Lens Blur Effect to work? i take the picture, move my phone up, it says rendering, but then it just appears as a normal picture it doesnt have the options to change the effect like it does on the nexus 7
I am running the Sprint 4.4 port from Docholiday
Hello,
I just got my G3 a few days ago. Overall I love it. However this morning I tried out a couple wallpapers from Zedge and Background HD.. after changing my wallpaper I noticed that everytime I exit an app, any app, the wallpaper in the background tears up for a sec or so, then it goes back to normal.. Not really a big deal but still a little annoying since it happens EVERY time after I exit an app.. I don't remember this happening when I first got my phone.. anyone else noticing the same? If so is there a solution? Seems like something a simple patch would do.
Thank you in advance!

I did notice the same behavior with wallpapers applied by Zedge. Then I decided to try to set up the wallpaper by the default way and it worked, the flaw is gone.
Try it.
It seems that the issue returned here. I don't know how to solve, appears to be random.
I've got same problem after just few hours of using brand new LG G3. I've set one wallpaper using Backgrounds HD and it was blinking, tearing apart, and changing ratio. So I switched back to one of stock wallpapers, the one I liked and it is doing same thing. So I tried to change whole skin but it changed nothing and it really annoys me. :/

I think some of these wallpaper apps need to be updated to support the QuadHD resolution. If you download the wallpaper to a computer, then copy it to the phone and install it normally (not using an app) it should work fine. I've used lots of different images as wallpaper without any issues.
I will try to do it this way and I think it will work. The problem is (in my opinion) that switching back to one of OS stock wallpapers doesn't solve the issue. The only moment phone wallpaper acts normal is when I reset theme. It applies only to default theme wallpaper. As I have my LG for only a day or so, I might consider factory reset :/
Edit:
Ok, so I stopped Backgrounds HD service, cleared its data and now all works fine. So the problem was in this particular applications service. Now I know, setting wallpapers from application is not a good idea.
