Several sources said that OpenVPN support is disabled/removed on the AFTV android system, so you can't use VPN service on the device :crying:
You can apply DNS server settings via smartdns to your LAN/WIFI connection on the AFTV, so you can bypass geolocation restrictions to most internet services but not all working that way.

Have you looked at the market for "ftp client"? There seem to be more than enough to try.

BBC iPlayer

Is there a way to get this working outside the UK region?

Virtual Private Network. Google it. You usually pay for them, perhaps $5 a month.
Excerpt from wiki:
A virtual private network (VPN) is a mechanism for providing secure, reliable transport over Internet[1].The VPN uses authentication to deny access to unauthorized users, and encryption to prevent unauthorized users from reading the private network packets. The VPN can be used to send any kind of network traffic securely, including voice, video or data.
VPNs are frequently used by remote workers or companies with remote offices to share private data and network resources. VPNs may also allow users to bypass regional internet restrictions such as firewalls, and web filtering, by "tunneling" the network connection to a different region.
Oh. I know what a VPN is. I use it when working from home.
I meant to ask how it's possible to use VPN to access BBC iPlayer from the States

The VPN will act like a proxy so you will have a UK IP and therefore Iplayer will work.
so how would i go about doing this? where do i obtain a uk ip?

Proxy over 3G

Ello everyone,
I was wondering if there is anyway of disable proxy all together over 3G, I been using a VPN over WiFi and it work perfectly. But when I connect to the 3G my VPN drops. I already have service through "Astrill" and figure I might as well ask here before heading over there and asking support.
I have no ideas where to start, I have follow the instructions about removing sprints proxy. But that doesn't seem to disable it just a work around.
Try Set DNS or something similar from the market.

And sometimes your vpn provider has an android app just for that very function. I use torguard myself. Works for wifi only right now but they are coming out with their own app soon. I really only use it for torrents myself though.. Got more then enougb dcma notices from failcast due to scammer taddletales so i gladly pay for my cheap torguard

VPN Application

Hi there
I use a paid VPN provider and I am looking for an app that will auto connect when the connection is lost on my phone. The application needs to support L2TP/IPSEC authentication though and so far I'm at a loss!

OpenVPN client note 3

Has anyone gotten any openvpn client to work on the note 3 using t-mobile data? I can connect via wifi and thru tethering my laptop to my note 3 but not on note 3 with data on 4g

Works fine for me, I use it every day. What VPN app do you use?

Weird, I tried openvpn connect and openvpn for Android. Using tun connection, non standard port tho and my certs are in the config... What is your setup like?
Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk
I use OpenVPN Settings with a tap connection, standard port, TCP protocol (though udp worked over 4g, it was my work's wifi that blocks udp so I switched to tcp). Phone takes an address on my router where the server's hosted and all is good.
Im using open vpn over data as we speak. Air Vpn is my provider.

Where do I make these changes and how?
Do I create a new apn? With same or different settings?
Nvm, I was being lazy. .. so I created a new apn and copied all the settings over and added admin in and set to ipv4/ipv6 and it now works! Thank you so much!
Now any idea why admin has to be added?

When you created a new APN are you referring to making one from your phone's Settings -> Connections -> More Networks -> VPN?
Or were you referring to doing all this in OpenVPN Connect App?
The reason I ask is because if done within the phone under settings there is only:
PPTP (horrible as we know),
L2TP/IPSec PSK,
L2TP/IPSec RSA,
IPSec Xauth PSK,
IPSec Xauth RSA,
IPSec Hybrid RSA.
Please clarify as my VPN all of a sudden stopped working (not connecting) on mobile data...only connects on Wifi....it's frustrating.
Thanks.

More network settings . Mobile networks . Access Point Names
Create a new entry, make the settings same as before, but add admin in with supl and whatnot as mentioned above
