Ello everyone,
I was wondering if there is anyway of disable proxy all together over 3G, I been using a VPN over WiFi and it work perfectly. But when I connect to the 3G my VPN drops. I already have service through "Astrill" and figure I might as well ask here before heading over there and asking support.
I have no ideas where to start, I have follow the instructions about removing sprints proxy. But that doesn't seem to disable it just a work around.
Try Set DNS or something similar from the market.

And sometimes your vpn provider has an android app just for that very function. I use torguard myself. Works for wifi only right now but they are coming out with their own app soon. I really only use it for torrents myself though.. Got more then enougb dcma notices from failcast due to scammer taddletales so i gladly pay for my cheap torguard

At the risk of sounding like a complete noob (guilty), I was wondering how to get the WiFi tethring to work (without paying big red their exorbitant monthly charges). I did just root my Incredible and have looked at different forums, but I end up more confused. Any help would be appreciated.

or dial ##778 send, Edit Mode, 000000, M.IP Default settings, and remove the dun from your#@dun.vzw3g.com so I just reads "yournumber"@vzw3g.com. This allows you to use mobile hotspot with out being routed through verizon's checker to see if you've paid for tethering.
Thanks. I can't believe it was that simple.

Or if you are rooted, grab this.

Virtual Private Network. Google it. You usually pay for them, perhaps $5 a month.
Excerpt from wiki:
A virtual private network (VPN) is a mechanism for providing secure, reliable transport over Internet[1].The VPN uses authentication to deny access to unauthorized users, and encryption to prevent unauthorized users from reading the private network packets. The VPN can be used to send any kind of network traffic securely, including voice, video or data.
VPNs are frequently used by remote workers or companies with remote offices to share private data and network resources. VPNs may also allow users to bypass regional internet restrictions such as firewalls, and web filtering, by "tunneling" the network connection to a different region.
Oh. I know what a VPN is. I use it when working from home.
I meant to ask how it's possible to use VPN to access BBC iPlayer from the States

The VPN will act like a proxy so you will have a UK IP and therefore Iplayer will work.
so how would i go about doing this? where do i obtain a uk ip?

Hi!
Check out: http://strongvpn.com/packages.shtml
Using it and works flawlessly.
I can access goo.im on my evo lte when connected to the sprint network,
As soon as I turn on wifi (keep in mind that all devices in my house are connected to the same att gateway modem) and try to reload the page I get the problem loading page blah blah blah. But when I turn wifi off and use my sprint connection it works fine.
On my nexus 7 (wifi only) it wont connect to goo.im via the google chrome browser or app, and now Im on my computer and getting the exact same issue.....and yes my interent works.
Used Google public dns and all is swell

Are you certain you're using the right apn? Check to make sure it's not automatically going back to default apn. I know several people would add a custom apn but when they'd check on it, it would have changed back to default settings.

Found my Problem
SO apparently the 50$ unlimited plan (no bandwidth throttle) is not unlimited. i called them up and they said my account is flagged as "high bandwidth user" so yeah unlimited≠unlimited
It's called throttling. Technically you can still use all you want. It's just at dial up speeds now.

nope they literary told me no internet until end of cycle not throttling literary CUT OFF

Several sources said that OpenVPN support is disabled/removed on the AFTV android system, so you can't use VPN service on the device :crying:
You can apply DNS server settings via smartdns to your LAN/WIFI connection on the AFTV, so you can bypass geolocation restrictions to most internet services but not all working that way.
