So, I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed this yet, but there is another trinket of info that points to the book cover being actively sensed by this tablet. When poking around in settings, I happened across this little feature.

Does anyone know WHERE we can actually buy this book cover?
Man, Samsung does not make it easy. They need to support their products more. iPad 5 will have about a million accessories all over the place.

Samsung has had a terrible launch for its S-Note line. I've had my Note 3 for over a week and still no sign of official accessories anywhere whether in-store or at Amazon.
Same for the note 10.1 2014.
If you want to charge these high prices you better provide an apple-esque experience and that means no headaches for anything including finding accessories.

I was able to get a genuine S-View cover from Verizon, but only through telesales, not online or in the store.
Is that advertised anywhere? No.
Does Samsung's official site list any covers or cases? No.
They suck so bad at accessories. It's ridiculous.
Yeah Samsung's last few product launches have been the same, no accessories until a few weeks after.

I can confirm it does wake the tablet. I don't have the smart cover, but I do have a keyboard with a "smart cover"that turns it on and off. Placing it over the screen, or even on the back, trips the magnetometer, putting the tablet to sleep. Removing it wakes it up into a quick note/dashboard type of program.
I bought a sleeve that is actually for an iPad and daynote does work. It's not working every time but every now and again I'm presented with a special screen after removing the note from its sleeve.
Best Buy tells me it will be in stock this week. Either with their Monday shipment or Thursday shipment.
We'll see. Given that their Samsung Experience employees didn't even know it was releasing the week before it did, I don't put much stock into what they say.

Before you try any magnet cases, test if the digitizer survives it. i had one on my note 8.0 and it had a big impact on the wacom digitizer, when drawing i would get close to 10mm of offset or the area around the magnet didn't work at all. When i noticed this i immediately performed a little surgery and now the case is a dumb piece of leather. Luckily i noticed it pretty quickly so i got no permanent damage. I'm not sure if permanent damage CAN be done with such a weak magnet, but look out

Wow seriously? This kind of scares me as I am using the Moko case. But you know I don't think the Note 8.0 was made to be utilized with a magnet. Seeing that the Note 10.1 2014 is made to wake up with the use of a magnet, I think they made have designed it to be magnet friendly.
I could eb wrong, because I returned my Note 8.0
Yes, you might be right but look out. You dont want a tablet thats at a higher price because of something that breaks because of you not using a correct case.
Ps. In the second sentence "you" is meant for everyone and not to offend Slim

On the Note 3, the "View" cover uses a Hall effect sensor I have read.
What I noticed about this cover is that it seems to cover the camera when it is folded over the back??

Nope, they don't really know release dates on anything. I've been asking the Samsung guy about Note 3 cases, he tells me a day, and they never come in.
Was just over at BB today, asking him if they had the cases, when another lady came up and wanted to know also. WTF, is up with Samsung and the slow releases of these accessories for both Note 3 and 10.1??

Heh! Yeah you're right!
Here's what I was thinking when I said that.
The magnet can be on either side. So not necessarily on the cover. "Could" be steel on the cover, but probably not.
Like for instance, I am putting a hall sensor on a Motorcycle presently. The magnet is in the sensor itself. The trigger wheel is steel.
So steel goes through the field and causes the trigger.
But it seems that the magnet here "should" be on the cover. Otherwise all steel would trigger the sensor and screw with the display.
I did run a magnet near my screen and couldn't get it to switch even after fooling with the S-View settings.

Not sure about that particular case, but I've noticed that pressure on certain points of the edge of the device seems to affect the touchscreen. I had tried to use a tablet mount in my car, but when the tablet is in the mount, a portion of the touchscreen stops responding. It has to be due to pressure on the edge of the device because as soon as I unclamp it from the mount it starts working normally again. So I can totally see how a case might be putting pressure on part of the device and affecting the touchscreen.
Honestly, the N7 2013 is just too thin and not rigid enough. I can't even put it in my pocket, as was my goal when I bought it, because it was causing it to warp.

Not having any issues with multitouch here. I'm running cleanrom and elementalx kernel on 4.4.2. Someone mentioned in the thread that it might be related to pressure points on the device and I'm inclined to agree.
You might also want to take a look at this thread.
Screen protectors can be a cause of touch problems. I got a package of the official screen protectors at the time I bought my device. It took me 2 weeks to figure out the protector was the cause , after I began to question it I found out the thing was just too thick.

Now that is not something I disagree with. My multitouch issues actually got better after I applied my official screen protector. Went away completely after upgrade to 4.4.2, even with my magnetic smart case.
until i got a case, i thought my N7 doesn't suffer from touch problems. but apparently the case degraded grounding and my tochscreen got partly unresponsive. holding the tab in both hands, there weren't any issues at all. so yes, cases can worsen touchscreen issues.
but luckily the ts-10 patch from sfhub's thread solved the tochscreen issues permanently. even with a case everything works flawlessly.

Maybe it would be better worded "that is something I disagree with", or, "that is not something I agree with",??because it seems you are of the mindset that the protector does not negatively affect you touchscreen experience. I realize your experience can be the direct opposite of mine, which in my thinking does not negate either's experience.

I realize my grammar mistake. Oops. Yes, in my own personal experiences, I have never had a bad experience with screen protectors negatively affecting my touchscreen. The type I have used, matte, yes that affected the viewing experience. But in my experience, having that very minimal slight drag has helped with typing, drop and drag, selecting items etc. I have since switched to clear protectors (never the orange peel type, yuck) and rather glad I did. I am very much about resale value on all my devices from opening the box. No device ever gets used without a case and protector. Being able to sell as used in mint condition when I upgrade my devices 2-4 times a year is a major way to reclaim that money. Plus I dont like the slippery soap feel of naked screens. I did not mean to come off as negating your experience. I apologize if it did.
I just love the community here anywhere else that would have been the start of a flame war. But the folks here actually take the time to try to clear things up like adults. Thumbs up to you all.?

I used to have a magnetic Moko slim case on my N7 and it would constantly suffer from random shutdowns / battery drain / incorrect readings (at least once a week) but ever since removing it, my N7 has become rock solid once again. I was even contemplating an RMA before that since it became so irritating every time I was using it with sufficient battery life and it would just shut off on me. I'm thinking the particularly strong magnetic field was somehow interfering with the battery controller on the device.

You may have an older version. I know moko went through two, one didn't trigger the magnet on or off well but would sometimes trigger screen off from the back.
I've got the same case, v2, no noticeable privileges but I'm using ts20 for this nexus.
I was having ghost screen touches, so decided to remove my poetic slimline case. That solved my touch screen issues.

Just today I ordered from Newegg a black LG G Pad 8.3 and found this case on Amazon. I have one like it for my (now inoperable) Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 and like it so much I wanted to get one for the new tablet. I'm interested in seeing how it works, especially in portrait mode because that's primarily how I use mine.
Let's see who posts a video first...
I'd probably get to it around Wednesday.

I think I got the same case as you from AliExpress. However, the part that holds the case is very poorly molded for me, especially the corners.
Can you take some photos of the corners?
I had a similar case for my htc flyer and the circular rotational part ended up wearing a ring onto the back of the tablet. Does it look like this may cause a similar issue?
I've had the case for a few days now but just received the tablet that goes into it. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to take photos today, but I should tomorrow.
I did, however, put the tablet into the case. Initially, it didn't seem very secure. But I forgot to put a microSD card into the tablet, so I had to remove the tablet from the case. It was way more secure coming out than it felt going in. I'm not worried about protection. (That paragraph would border on pornographic if I weren't talking about a tablet and its case).
The angles of the case seem like they'll be fine. I usually use just the shallow angle, and it didn't seem tippy. As for the ring in back, I had a similar case on my old Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and there was no wear on the tablet, just a ring of dirt from me putting my index finger in there when holding the tablet. I would imagine the same will happen with the G Pad.
I'll have a more thorough write up tomorrow. And photos.
Sent from my Verizon LG G2 using Tapatalk
The case is more imbalanced than I thought it would be when using the G Pad in portrait mode. I guess I'll have to get used to using it in landscape mode...
The plastic "tray" the Pad clips into seems to be covered (not molded, but actually covered) with the same material as the front, which leads to some irregularities in finish. You can see these areas around the corners, which I've included in the photos. But these areas don't interfere with the fit of the case -- they actually might help it be more secure as you have to pull the Pad out past these small "lumps."
The ring on the back features a stationary plastic ring around which the cover rotates. The cover fits loosely, the ring fits tightly. I am not at all concerned about wear and tear in this are, just fingerprints and dirt (which you can already see in the photos).
The case's cutouts are fine, revealing the parts you need access to and covering the rest.
Overall, the case seems worth the money. But I might look around for a similar one that is more stable when using the Pad in portrait mode.
Feel free to ask any questions you might have.
I could only attach four photos in that last reply. Here are the rest.
Again, feel free to ask any questions you might have.
This case is available all over ebay, and I got mine yesterday ("New Folio 360° Rotating Leather Case Cover For LG G Pad" item 131079877700
sold by super8shopping).
Magnetic on/off feature works perfectly. Great protection of screen (when closed) and all corners. Works nicely as a stand for landscape, but fairly unstable as a stand in portrait. $13.50USD, and I'm very pleased with it. :victory:
Mine is listed as brown, although it's a very light brown:
I don't like this case's instability in portrait mode, so I ordered one of these:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000CKVOOY/
It looks much more stable and can be configured to work with other devices. I'll keep you posted.

I have had this stand going back a few years when I had the Motorola Xoom. I also used it with my Nexus 7 (2013) and now with my G Pad and it works great!!
I'm really tempted to buy the moto 360 but MWC is just around the corner. Should I hold out for the second generation? Anyone know when itl be released? Wanted some advice from current owners. Is there anything you feel the first gen is severely lacking which might be in the second generation. Battery isn't an issue for me as I'll happily charge everyday. Anybodu used it with a nexus 5? What is the perofrmace like? Any problems with it disconnecting?.
Any thoughts/advice greatly appreciated.

Look out for? As in things that can go wrong? Oddly enough I am on my 3rd Moto 360. The first one had a dead pixel and didnt play nice with any other Qi charger aside from the Moto one. The second one, 2 dead pixels, and yep I returned both. Sure a dead pixel isnt a HUGE deal, but on a 250.00 watch that had this issue right out of the box, I didnt agree with that. Not to mention that once I seen the single or double dead ones, I knew they were there and my eyes constantly gravitated to it! . Oddly enough, both of these were gray banded and silver watch. After waiting a few months, I decided to pick up a black one (Yay tax returns!) , and not 1 single dead pixel, and my old wireless charging mat actually works fine
So check for dead pixels and the infamous cracked back that people are reporting on theirs (which I think would come from using a different band thats not made for the 360)

Thanks for your insight! I have a 1 dead pixel on my 40 inch TV and because I know its there its probably one of the most annoying things!
I will be checking the moto 360 out later on today. It is the black one and comes with both a leather and metal strap. He currently has the metal strap fitted. Are the cracks easy to see or will i need a magnifying glass?! Are there any reports of the vibration motor not working correctly or any thing regarding software which I should check before buying?

I havent heard much about the motor crapping out and as for the cracks, just search google since they seem to vary in size. But also as I mentioned, they "seem" to stem from the use of 3rd party watch bands. I just got the official 360 black metal band to go with my black watch, and seeing how Motorola included these little plastic tabs that fit into the slots to fill in the gaps, I can see how aftermarket straps could possibly damage it.
FYI, if the metal strap that comes with the watch is the one for the Pebble watch, be prepared to have any and all hairs on your wrist ripped out!
Hello all,
I buy this holder for my car:

Anyone know if is safe to introduce the metal plate between battery and rear case of our LG v20??? Im not sure.
Best Regards
In theory it is safe. I'm a bit old school though and still don't let magnets near any of my electronics.
I use a one in my car, but I have a double layer case, so I put the metal plate between the case layers.
I havent got any issues.
I've used a similar mount and had no problems.
I placed the metal plate inside a case, making sure to locate it directly opposite the battery so there would be no signal interference.

Have used a similar mount for about 2 years on my old Galaxy S4 and now am using it on my V20 using the vCommuter case and have never had anything out of the ordinary happen to either phone while using them so far.
After using a magnetic mount and running some tests with and without I can say with absolute certainty that it does have an effect on the compass. Navigation apps still work but sometimes they're unsure which direction you're facing. If you get yourself lost and are trying to navigate with a compass app, you need to remove the metal plate!
