[Q] Helvetica for LG G3 - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I've got a wonderful LG G3 running Lollipop.
I was wondering - could I somehow (without root, I guess, as root isn't out for Lollipop yet) put the Helvetica font on my phone, and use that?
I've looked in the SmartWorld app, but none of the fonts in there comes even close.
Hope to get some great response!

Many of us running Lollipop on rooted G3, I personally ChupaChups ROM. Should you decide for root, you might find here HelveticaNeuLight here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/themes-apps/font-cocon-t2830600

Is there any way to root a stock L rom?

No. But this is why you should install a Kitkat kdz, root and then a L Rom. Skin1980 patched also the 20a stock kernel. Look in the G3 Android development thread.

Just download fontser app at playstore its free and easy to use.

maybe. since the file size of the download is 500mb+ but I doubt if he wrote it clearly...rooted? that would be awesome if that's the case.

did you try old method by which we can root n get into recovery mode through CWM ? and can you upload some screenshot ? are the 80charcters restricitons exits in this .kdz file?
Yeehaaa... Guys I've just installed the ROM I shared earlier. It's great. It's exactly 186 JB 4.1.2 with most bloatware removed and is in Vietnamese, Korean and English though it's not completely English (ringtones, task manager etc. are in Korean). SMS Characters limit is at 160. Music player, Camera, Lockscreen everything is great and revamped!!! HANGOUTS (former TALK) is missing though. Also it comes with SupersSU (Not Pro), RootExplorer, Rebooter and ScreenOff (I don't know what is it). The thing I didn't like is that on Boot screen it shows ICS Engineer version. :s
Theme is still Light Colored so I can just pray somebody change it to pure English and Dark JB theme.

The act of rooting your phone isn't going to cause instability. It's typically what users do AFTER they're rooted that leads them to that.
If you don't know what you're doing you can screw things up pretty good, but overall you should be good!

You don't need a computer or cable with Stump Root. It's an app you download. Click a button, phone reboots, then install SuperSu from play store

use purpledrake method. its better and easier.
but you have to download lg drivers before to make that.
I am not going to root until I have at least once restored the system to "as shipped" with the .TOT file (Verizon).

[Q] Disable High Volume Warning

Hello, I am running stock lollipop and am rooted. Does anyone know how I can disable the high volume warning? There is a flashable mod posted, but it was for KK. I know Wanam for Xposed is not an option. Any other option(s)?
Thank you,
Ciro
I'm running Alliance ROM and there is no pop-up warning just a red line on the volume slider.
I know there are custom roms with the built in feature, but I didn't want to flash an entire custom rom. I was hoping to just stay rooted stock and flash just the mod.
I'd like to bump this to the top.
I'm not looking for a mod, just some help on where to make the change to get rid of the warning.
I can decompile/recompile an apk, or change a setting in a .db.
Any help is appreciated

Thanks for pointing me in this direction, but this does not work for me. The code in 5.1 does not match up anymore. I tried improvising and getting the two changes into the checkSafeMediaVolume(III)Z method. All I get are boot loops... I've found a couple of other ways to try, but not having any success. Does this work for you on OG5?

Hi,

In regards to stump root, have a look at this thread as it may be helpful: [Root] Stump Root for LG Devices (2012 - 2014) Big update 1.2.0
Assuming that you've followed the instructions provided, you may have to double check where you have downloaded the root app from and whether the app is compatible with your phone's current firmware.

As the app is discontinued, a different app/method may have to be used for your android firmware. Hi again,
I too don't understand the significance of the 10B/C, but I assume it has something to do with the bootloader (users correct me if I'm wrong). Therefore, if you've updated your firmware, the bootloader can also be changed as well, which means this root method may not work (as it was last updated mid 2014). I don't know how to check the bootloader version as I do not have a LG G3, I hope someone else will be able to help you out with this.

These apps/methods are to root your device from an unrooted state. If your device was previously rooted, it states that you will have to fully unroot it in SuperSU (in your case, your phone is still unrooted).

I think it would be better to use this method: [Guide]LG One Click Root - root LG firmwares (KitKat / Lollipop) or this method: [GUIDE][ROOT] Newest Root Method for LG devices. You are on lollipop so stump root will not work.

Personally I've never rooted my g3 with king root but others have and I've used it to root my gpad as well. How did you download it?
