Just got a G3. But this phone lacks functionality that I had on my S5. I'm on the road a lot and I get a lot of meeting invites. The meeting invites usually have phone numbers with conference codes and extensions, for example:
Conference Number (Mobile-friendly): 8662345689,,,,223345099#
Conference Number (Human-friendly): (866) 234-5689,,,223-345-099
The S5 recognized these phone numbers and the extensions after the pause (commas). But the G3 ignores the part after the phone number, so I end up having to pull over when in my car to get into meetings, to dial the conference code.
Is there any way to get this functionality back?

This may be more of a Windows Mobile question than it is about the TP2, but hopefully someone will have some input. We have added a couple TP2's in the mix with our Blackberries at work and I've run into a slight problem. Being that we use these as business devices the few quirks below are pretty inconvenient. Thanks in advance for any input you can provide.
Everyone in our company has the same phone number but a different extension. Here is a sample of how the contact are stored (using Exchange):
Example
Contact1 John Doe - Company XYZ - 555-123-4567 x23
Contact2 Jane Smith - Company XYZ - 555-123-4567 x25
Contact3 Mike Brown - Company XYZ - 555-123-4567 x27
Question 1
With our Blackberries, if either of the three listed contacts calls, the incoming caller ID will the show "Company XYZ" since it's the only common field between the contacts. With the TP2's, it seems to pick a random contact to display instead of the company name.
Is there any way to display the company name instead of a random contact?
Question 2
When making outgoing calls with the Blackberries, the phone will remember the extension and all you to press the trackball to enter it once the call connects. On the TP2's, it shows the extension in the contact list, but forgets it as soon as you dial number.
How can I get support for extensions with our WM phones?
My phone is not ringing for some contacts. For instance, if I call my cell phone from my work phone, my cell phone will not ring IF I have my work phone number stored in my contact list. No vibrate, no missed call indication, no nothing. But, if I delete my work number from my contact list, the phones rings as it should. I can get calls from some other contacts in my contact list and the phone rings as it should. But not my work number. So, is there some app or something that I may have set to keep my work phone number from ringing through?
Hi,
I have to dial several conference calls during the day and what I used to do my Samsung galaxy was to add the full dialing strings to get into the conference call without having to send any extra keys after I pleced the call. I had on my contacts the following
888888888,#,78878787#
and it would dial the number, wait 2 seconds, send the #, wait 2 more seconds and then send 78878787#
It worked like a charm, but now on my new LG optimus G pro when I dialed the same contact what I see being sent is.
888888888,78878787
so it seems it is dropping the first #, the second pause and the last #
I found that I can replace the , by ;, but this way I have to press the ok button to send the other digits, when before by just dialing the contact I would get into the call without any other intervention.
Any help is appreciated.
Would this be caused by the dialer or by the contacts app and how can I get the Samsung dialer or contacts app on the LG (if possible)?
Hi All,
Having a bit of difficulty with calendar invites (from exchange, but don't think that matters).
Im trying to replicate some HTC functionality that no other vendors seem to have yet. With HTC sense, if you click on a phone number within a meeting invite, the number starts dialling but still shows the meeting invite details on screen with the dial pad. This allows you to punch in conference bridge details after the number connects without having to swap back and forth between the dialler and the invite. Both LG, Sammy and vanilla Android switch to the contacts picture view and wont show the invite, and switching back and forth to get the bridge details and dial it in before it times out is a nightmare. Not sure what Sony/Moto/others do.. but don't really care at this point
Any suggestions? Its a real usability deal breaker for me using this as a work device.
Thanks!
Hello,
I'm curious if anyone has come across a way to enable the phone to ring if a number has the correct prefix. Where I work every number has the same area code (US) and first 3 digits of the phone number, so I was wondering if there was some way to enable them to ring. I'm constantly moving around, so I have asked them to call my cell phone, but I also don't want random calls to cause my phone to ring in meetings. I tried to create a contact that had the prefix and then **** for the extension, but it hasn't worked. If there is some app or some way to enable this functionality, I would appreciate an assist with it. If not, hopefully we can get a feature request or app started.
I should mention that I have the Pixel XL on the most recent Verizon Android Oreo OTA. OPR3
Thanks for the help!
I actually would like the opposite because the majority of my spam calls come from my area code and first 3 digits of my phone number.
