Just wondering if it possible to switch out my phones motherboard into one with a bad esn? My phone has a broken lcd and glass and I don't want to have to go through the hassle of removing and replacing the lcd, so is it possible to just replace the internals of mine into the one with a bad esn and not have any problems?

Hey guys, I have a G2 which has a couple of scratches on the screen. I thought that since I was already replacing the housing and spring that I could just replace the screen as well. My question is what do I replace the digitizer or the LCD?
digitizer is the glass on the front so i would say thats what you want to replace, unless the scratches are on the lcd its self witch is very unlikely.
Got my brothers old mytouch 4g with a shattered screen. upon replacing the lcd and digitizer I somehow broke the connector for the lcd ribbon cable. not sure how I did that it just seemed to crumble. does anyone happen to have a used one sitting around that they can sell?
just in case you can't find a cheap motherboard. can i buy your mt4g accessories? i need a cheap original accessories.

I have six of them, but they all have the bad emmc chip and have failed... So i dont think you would be too interested in those. so i highly doubt you will find what you are looking for as well, if it is in good shape, then why would they want to sell it, and there are few, if any other than me that have tried anything like hardware hacking these things...
is it possible to swap the emmc chip from one board to another?

not that i am aware of, check ebay for a board though...
the board i have now has a good emmc chip in it and works great except for the lcd connection point. the top plastic broke off to the ribbon cable is loose and it causes the screen to flicker real bad. ive looked online and a new board is around $120 new. im trying to get a broken phone off of ebay but so far they have all had bad chips.
Epoxy might be the dirty fix you need...
Me too!

I have the same problem. The LCD connector is all messed up after attempting to replace the screen. Did you find a solution?
Me too! Let us know if you figure out either how to fix it or where to get some good motherboards.
Just recently replaced the lcd on my note 2, all went well it was pretty easy, but wanted to know if there was an easy way to remove the sticker with the imei and model number on the old lcd housing and put it on the new one?
Hi,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S III i747 [http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3-att]. I tried to repair it but the glue I used to previously repair the glass was too strong and the digitizer came with it... Trying to power it and all I see is green light a part of the screen and nothing but the phone vibrate on start-up. I think the motherboard is still good.
I looked for local classified for broken screen (or used S3) but so far I wasn`t able to grab one and some times the seller are asking very high price (120$) for a phone I risk to break. I was thinking just buying a working one in good condition but that`s 200$. The idea is to swap the motherboard and sell the motherboard un-used.
I decided to check on ebay There are a lot of cheap bad esn phone on ebay with excellent screen condition but these are sprint phones (SPH-L710).
I wonder if I could still swap the motherboard and have a roger i747 phone? That would be the cheapest and easiest option for me if that`s the case.
Also, would the display work on the i747? After some research it was said some where that a T-mobile can accept a sprint display - would it be the case for a roger (ATT) S3?
It seems like it is possible to switch the mother board but I will need to also switch the antenna. The display exchange would probably be the easiest.

So yes it has happend I dropped my G3. LCD is fine but the digitizer and the silver frame are done for. For a moment there I thought I'll replace only the digitizer but the frame is deformed so I'll just fork more cash and replace the full assembly (LCD + digitizer + frame) my only concern is the IMEI S/N sticker. Can the sticker be heated and transfered from my old assembly to the new one, has somebody done it? As I see no gunk on any screws I'm guessing that the only way LG warranty service may see my unauthorized replacement is by the IMEI sticker. Or can the sticker be removed without losing the warranty?
I've searched for the answer but couldn't find any related to G3.
i did change the whole frame and lcd, and the sticker went away very easily, you should not have problems just be carefull and if you want, heat it a bit

Thanks, I'll change the frame and wait with the sticker transfer any idea about what temperature should I use on the sticker? I'm gonna use my hot-air soldering station.
no idea but as i told you, mine went away in few seconds without heating
