Hey guys, I have a G2 which has a couple of scratches on the screen. I thought that since I was already replacing the housing and spring that I could just replace the screen as well. My question is what do I replace the digitizer or the LCD?
digitizer is the glass on the front so i would say thats what you want to replace, unless the scratches are on the lcd its self witch is very unlikely.

I bought a G2 with a broken glass Digitizer. I replaced the digitizer but the LCD screen was cracked as well. So i replace that too. After replacing the glass digitizer and lcd screen the phone would respond in certain areas. SOOO I took the phone apart once more and press the LCD against the Glass digitizer which help with some of the "dead spots" on the screen. But there are still some "dead" spots here and there. Is there anything i could do to have the Lcd screen stick to the digitizer so i don't have these issues. I love my G2 but its useless at points when the multi touch is not working properly.
You should have sent it back on warranty.
Removed "Void" sticker over one of the screws
I removed one of the stickers do you think they'll notice?
no, they'll send you another one as soon as they get the tracking no. from you.
Long story short my colleague dropped her S3 and the glass is okay (not cracked) and the AMOLED display is is fine as well, however it is not responding to her touches. Would this be the digitizer? And if so, would she just be able to replace the digitizer itself? Or would it require the entire LED/Glass/Digitizer piece?
Edit: To clarify what I'm trying to explain:
This is what I'm looking at for the digitizer only.
This is what I'm looking at for the entire LED/Glass/Digitizer
You're going to need to replace the glass and digitizer. When you take the gorilla glass off it shatters the screen rendering it useless.
Hi today i just cracked my 2 days old n7100, the crack wasn't bad but it's definitely visible.
I'm not planning to send it to a shop to repair the screen cuz it's just too expensive.
I want to replace the screen by myself. So i just wanna ask you guys, is it possible to just replace the glass screen and not the whole thing?
Because the screen and digitizer is working fine. Just some visible hairline crack on the device itself.
So, can i just disassemble and replace the glass screen ?
Thanks guys!
You can replace glass only . its a bit annoying job but it possible... Patience ... And only patience. Here is video for s3 glass replacement . Note2 the same way. Glass you can buy from eBay for 20-30$.

You will be better off replacing the whole glass digitizer and lcd as its more difficult to replace just the glass also base on my experience with replacing the glass, it may pop up after sometime as with my HTC phone. Watch this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxgZeb5QytM and this https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&v=qhd5KwgopZo&NR=1 Good luck

N7100 screen replacement! PLEASE HELP
Thanks alot ndmuni
Hi everyone. I am in the process of repairing my phone and have a few questions. I have an almost brand new T989. Unfortunately the glass cracked, but it left the lcd and digitizer intact. I was able to successfully remove the glass. This was actually quite easy, contrary to what I was led to believe by some reading I did. I ended up leaving the lcd and digitizer still attached to the front housing during the process, the adhesive bond between the glass and digitizer was not nearly as strong as I would have thought. It came apart readily with only a small amount of heat applied. So, my questions are:
1) Where is the best source for purchasing replacement glass?
2) Is there in fact a need to somehow glue the new glass to the lcd assembly when replacing? I cannot find any replacement adhesive sheet.
3) The phone is gray, or "titanium" in color. I am also unable to find a replacement glass in this color.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Hi guys
Had to get my glass replaced by samsung and had to purchase glass and digitizer as one unit. Its back to normal and samsung returned my original unit with cracked glass..however the digitizer and screen worked fine.
Seen yourube videos on how to remove the glass. Do you think its worth salvaging/selling the digitzer and screen?
There is no mainboard parts etc..
..just digitizer/screen only
Thx
