Can't see 5Ghz wifi after root - Fire TV Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I followed the guides on AFTVnews and my box is working great. I have root, bootloader, custom rom, etc.
My only major pending issue now is that I no longer see my 5Ghz wireless network.
During the initial setup I had access to the 5Ghz but somewhere along the way I lost sight of all 5ghz networks.
I'm running Tomato by Shibby.
Tomato Firmware 1.28.0000 MIPSR2-123 K26AC USB AIO-64K
Here are my settings.

Any thoughts?
I have tried various fixed channels and a tweak here and there but nothing seems to do the trick.

[Q] WIFI connects but no internet?

Today I updated my ROM from LeeDroid v2.5 to v3.0.8.2. I wiped my phone first. After this I rebooted, then rebooted again into recovery and installed the recommended radio (32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.08). Then I restored my apps+dat with Titanium back up and rebooted again.
It soon became apparent that whilst mobile internet was working fine, WIFI wasn't. While my phone will connect to the router it won't connect to the internet. If I enter the local IP of my router I can browse the settings fine. I tried "forgetting" the network and re-entering security code but this still didn't work.
I restored my v2.5 nandroid backup and the internet worked fine, the radio is still 32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.08.
So I did a fresh install of the v3.0.8.2 ROM and tried connecting to WIFI again and again the same problem.
So my question is, is this an inherent problem with the ROM, and if so why does no one else seem to have this problem, or is it a setting issue?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Also I tried changing the WIFI channel as suggested in another WIFI thread, and this didn't change anything. Except the WIFI channel obviously.
And I tried a static IP address and that didn't work either.

You try turning off router and putting back on again? I sometime's get that in my network.
Yes I tried turning my router off for a couple of minutes then switching it back on. Didn't change anything.

Did you sort it?
I think you need to wait before the router give your router assign an ip for your phone, btw, some router donot fit all phone model
Yes thanks I managed to sort it today by following this thread
Apparently the fault is inherent to Android 2.3.3 and seems to present itself mainly with Thompson routers. It was a static IP I needed, I'd not entered the details properly the first time.
Thanks for the replies!

WIFI not working after flashing custom rom

So far I have tried:
ace2nutzer: cm-11-20150714-UNOFFICIAL-codina.zip
ChronoMonochrome: cm-11-20150730-UNOFFICIAL-codina-universal.zip
MIUI6_5.7.26_I8160.zip
vanir_codina_4.4.4.092615.zip
CyanogenMod12.1_I8160_0920.zip
The wifi is not working. I was not able to connect to my D-Link 868L router. I notice that the mac address of the wifi adapter is now 00:00:00:00. Btw, to check that my phone's wifi was still working, I flashed back the stock rom and it could work.
How can I resolve this? Would appreciate some help.

D855 running 21A cannot see 5Ghz WIFI hotspot

So I just restored my phone to stock (21A KDZ) using the flashtool. I have no problems connecting to the 2.4Ghz WIFI hotspot but it cannot see the 5Ghz one.
steps I've tried:
1. turning WIFI on/off
2. I've restored it to stock via flashtool twice
3. performed factory reset via stock recovery.
My Macbook and 6s+ are both connected to the net using the 5Ghz hotspot so that's not the issue. When the phone was running cm12.1, it was connected to the 5Ghz hotspot too.
Any ideas what could be wrong?
Thanks
bump!

I came from cloudy 2.5 It saw the lower (36-48) channels only.
Have you tried Marshmellow 30b? My phone can now not only see the lower channels @ 5ghz, but it can also now see the higher channels (149-165) although there is a bug where if you enable wifi hotspot and turn it off, it will only see the lower channels until you reboot the phone.

Missing 5GHZ wifi networks on multiple ROMs but not on stock.

I got another G3 due to the SIM card issues on my original phone. The phone was upgraded to 30E and then downgraded to 30D, Kingrooted, TWRP installed and then tested with following ROMs.
Fulmics 7.5
XenonHD
CRDroid
Each of these ROMs would not detect any 5GHz networks, even using WiFi Analyzer shows nothing. 2.4GHz works fine.
I then restored the stock ROM and the 5GHz networks would show and connect without any issues.
Anyone have an idea where to look or what could be wrong?

Found the issue on CRDroid, havent tested the others. Looks like you need to set region for 5GHZ
WiFi > advanced > WiFi frequency band.

Wifi hotspot does not provide internet access

Hello, I once had a problem with the wifi hotspot operation on a Lenovo K3 Note - while the data connection worked fine and the hotspot set-up appeared to work, the connected device did not have internet access. This was solved when I flashed a new ROM.
Now I have an identical problem on an elderly phone (Ice-phone mini) running Android 4.3 that I want to use as a wifi hotspot. The symptoms are exactly the same as I had with the first phone. This phone is rooted, but I have not found any other ROMs to try, it is running the original rom.
I wonder whether this wifi hotspot problem is somehow generic, as I have come across it on more than one occasion. Is there any generic, or other solution?
I've tried Wifi Tether, but for some reason it fails. The log shows wifi interface configured but all the other operations fail.
Thanks.
