"OK Google" detection from any screen kills the alarm

Just in case someone else runs into this issue.
My alarm (default app) would get snoozed immideately after going off, thus becoming useless.
I have discovered that if I disable the "OK Google" detection from any screen option, the alarm functions fine.
Hope it helps someone not to miss any important appointments.

The ok google from any screen feature also kills the video camera. You get a "can not record while on a call" warning.

Glad I happened to see this post ... For the past week I've been trying to figure out what was automatically dismissing my alarm ... Uninstalled and reinstalled so many apps and xposed modules and never figured it out. Thanks!

Gald I could help. Also, at least I know that it's not only happening on my phone.
I wonder if the bug has to be submitted to Google or LG?

Running in to a similar issue. But instead of the alarm snoozing. I get a pop up message stating "Alarm/Clock has stopped working" and then a flashing notification light. The problem started just this week. I uninstalled the latest Google update and also turned off OK Google" detection from any screen, but that doesn't seem to have had any impact. Odd that I've had no problems with Google Now up until this past Tuesday.

I was unable to replicate your issue. I only get the "Snoozed" notification.
However, I moved to Timely alarm app since and it works just fine.

Thank you for the response. I was hoping I'd be able to figure out what's the issue is and continue to use the stock app. But looks like I'll have look into a third-party app.

The recent Google Search update seems to have fixed my issue.

Anyone get a new software update?

Just now my watch ask to update. The build version is KGW42R. Update took 30 seconds and lost 3% after the update. I wonder what the improvements were.

No update for me so far. I hope they add the ability to have the screen off while charging and to bring up cards at will.

The only way I can get it to turn off is by using the android wear app method.
Put on charger
In Android wear app go to settings
Check mark the always on setting
Wait for 360 to dim
Then un-check
Screen should turn off while charging

Well once you take it off the charger it lights up and when you place it back, it sometimes doesn't turn off. I usually hit the crown once on the charger to wake it, then again to dim and then it would turn off 9 out of 10 times.

Only thing I notice so far is that the white charging light indicator finally turns off when the watch taken off.

Here is the only change I can find:
Old Android Wear Build: 1.0.1.1387258
New Android Wear Build: 1.0.1.1448224
The Google Play Services did not change.

I never got a notice but my build number is also KGW42R,
But my software version is 4.4W.1 and I think that's what everyone uses for update reference.

I got the update as well. Heard about someone getting an update, I checked mine for one, didn't see anything, exited out of settings and got the alert. Can't see any differences so far though.

It still needs >80% on the battery. Downloaded the update and got a message to charge the battery - I was at 78%. At 81% it did the install.

Update is Looking Good
Did get the update today. I was having at least 6-7 BT disconnects a day with my Galaxy S4...I've had none in the last 3 hours...keeping my fingers crossed. I've also noticed that the watch is markedly more responsive to the wrist motion to turn it on when adaptive display is turned off.
Disappointment was starting to creep in, but this is looking good.

I'm on KGW42N. Checking the watch says its up to date. Anyone know how to force an update?

Heart rate monitor is (almost) always On

Anyone has noticed this? Almost every time I look under my watch the heart rate monitor is glowing green. Is this normal?

what watch face are you using? I noticed this yesterday actually using a community face from Watchmaker Premium. I am thinking it has to do with the face you are using.

Yes maybe is that. I'm also using Watchmaker premium and some watch face founded on G+.
I just changed it to the default Dandy watch face.
I'll report back if this helps.

Uninstalled Watchmaker
Factory reset
Uninstalled Google Fit
Removed all apps permissions for body sensors
And after all that my watch is still glowing green from the heart rate sensor.
Any ideas?

I just got a new replacement watch and it also has the green lights always on. Last watch didn´t do that.

I think it was Google Play Services bug.
After the update to 9.4.52 there is no more green lights

I have Google Play services 9.6.83 and have the green light almost always on problem. Anyone found an solution?

I have also noticed this bug recently, since the last update. It's becoming a major issue as it drains the battery real quick

Guys, I also have same problem.
May you please, affected with this strange HRM behavior, put Android, wear and play services versions, to analyse whether relates to particular cases?
Mine are, Android 6.0.1, Wear 1.503153324, PS 9.6.83
Also, I found on internet saying automatic HRM is a feature of Marshmallow. Any thoughts? (sorry, being noob here restricted to post links)

The battery life is terrible now.

Yep, I also have the same problem, and it has also been reported at the Google+ Android Wear community. Other watches seem to have this problem as well. I think there's a bug in the latest Wear update, as the problem started right after the last update.

I noticed this as well. I never had any problems in the past, but since a view days/week(?) I sometimes notice that the green heart rate monitor lights are on without reason. There was a Android Wear update recently, I currently have version 1.5.0.3250495 installed. I wonder if this is the reason. I'm also using Watchmaker with the same watchface sind months, but the last update of Watchmaker was in May, so it's unlikely that Watchmaker causes this.

I don't even have Watchmaker, so it's definitely not the app causing the problem

Thanks for posting Huawei's reply! That reply is a little worrisome to me though... it means they are completely unaware of the fact that every (updated) Huawei Watch out there is having their battery drained by a software bug....

Hmmm, it does seem like others are reporting the problem too.
Because of this random behavior of the HRM, I am losing on average 15% battery over night.

Check the Google Fit app. I just did and noticed, that it has measured my pulse several times in the last days without my knowledge. I usually do not use the app, so this is strange.

I uninstalled the app from the phone and it reverted to the old fit version on the watch. It doesn't log the HR anymore on Fit but the problem of the green light and the battery drain continue.

Hi, I've also had this problem. I've manage to resolve by unpairing my watch, restart both my watch and phone and start all over. Now, after a week, problem solved.

Unfortunately you're right. I also uninstalled fit on the phone and disabled fit on the watch, but the HRM still activates sometimes.

7.1.1 - do dont disturb icon in call

i noticed that when i receive or do a call, in the status bar it displays the do not disturb icon, it never occurred with MM and I'm not sure with 7.0 but i dont remember, I'm the only one? and what that means?

It's not a problem if it's an intended feature. The idea is that you don't have alerts, notifications, etc. going off in your ear, speakerphone, car stereo while on a phone call.

When I initially experienced this feature I thought it was a neat idea. Then it started having problems turning off automatically. Now I find that 25% of the time it just doesn't turn off automatically and I miss notifications as a result. This issue persists though restarts, resets, and two devices so far. Using the 128gb Pixel. I have tried to adjust the DND rules so that I don't miss them. As a result of those changes I made, I can get phone calls but at least Google Voice messages through Hangouts still don't work until I manually turn it off. I don't remember the phone buzzing in my ear on any of the recent phones I have owned.... Even if this was an intended feature, the fact it can't be turned off is causing me to have pay an unusual amount of attention to my phone coming in and out of calls to make sure I'll continue to be reachable.

I've factory reset my phone and watch. Still not working. A phone call comes up on my watch so it must be a setting I can't work out.

Mine was working yesterday on a stock rooted rom on my phone, but not today on a modified rom. What are you running?

Did your recently reset your phone to factory settings?
Because the new version of Android Wear is asking for permissions to recieve notifications.
I did everything but the solution was simple for me:
Open the Android Wear app and on startup page there should be a blue notification which says something like klick here to enable notifications...klick this button and allow the notification permission and everything should work fine now.

You can also access that in Settings > Apps > Gear Icon (upper right) > Advanced / Special Access > Notification access, then toggle on the Android Wear if it is not on

Thanks a bunch... I went to the app and noticed it said not connected... Touch to reconnect... Had to do that 4x and it finally connected

I'm having the same problem only I've done all of the above and it's still not working.
Notifications work for everything except messages and gmail.
It's only been doing it since the watch updated to Android Wear 2.5.
I have reset both the phone and the watch to factory, deleted and reinstalled the apps and still nothing.

Same here after OTA update to 2.5 I can't receive notifications on my watch anymore..had to reset my phone and watch but still not working.

I wonder if there's a way to roll back to 2.0???

I don't know but I wish there was an easy way to go back to 2.0.

Hopefully someone far smarter than me will see this and tell us how easy it is ?

try to "sync all apps" again with the android wear app.. then shut down and restart the watch. This works until I rebooted my phone, then I had to do it again

It's obvious now that the current Android Wear app on the phone needs to be updated to become compatible with the 2.5.
My workaround to this issue was, which I've tested many times and worked so far, finger crossed!:
1-Turn the watch off
2-Turn the Bluetooth off on the phone
3-Turn the watch on completely
4-Turn on the Bluetooth on the phone.
The first notification will take 3-4 seconds to arrive.

Excellent effort. So far that seems to be working for me. I haven't received any messages yet but I'm getting my email notifications (which I wasn't before).

That worked for me, thanks.
Oddly enough though, I followed the instructions step by step and actually had a facebook notification pop up on the watch immediately after it powered up but before I'd turned bluetooth back on on the phone!

@hagba Thank you very much those step work. I also noticed that google assistant doesn't work when you send your first query. You have to ask it something, click on the little colored dots then ask it the same thing again and it works. You have to do this everytime you make any request. Annoying. I hope the knuckleheads at Google will fix these annoying issues soon.

Myself I have no such problem with the Google assistant, it works fine from the first voice command without touching the colored dots, even "Ok Google" works well.
