Hi guys,
To make a long story short I recently bought a Touch pro (im with alltel). I have installed wmwifirouter on my phone in hopes of using my phone as a router to connect to xbox live. Unfortunalety I have running into the problem where on the xbox live test screen it will not go pass the MTU test. I always get the MTU error status and I cannot go any further. I have read though various online sites that in order for xbox live to connect, the MTU setting on the router has to be higher than 1365. So.... my question is..... where is that setting on wmwifirouter and how do i change it.... or is there any other way to fix this problem?..... any help would be great!!!!!

Hi everyone!
I'm having kind of a special problem.
I'm an electro acoustic musician and finds the Desire a lot of fun.
My new project is to use its accelerometer etc and for that I need to connect it to my Mac running OSX 10.6.5.
The issue I'm having is that my network (campus ish) won't allow me to open any ports. I don't think it's a good idea to hack it, so my next idea is to create a network between my Mac and my Desire. This network won't have access to the internet.
It also has to be via Wifi since the app I'm using only allows communication through wifi and my java skills aren't good enough to edit the apk.
I therefore run Oxygen 1.0 (GREAT rom btw) which is supposed to accept ad-hoc, and my computers own network does show up when i browse it in my phone.
The problem is that it dosn't connect since it isn't given an ip. I imagine there has to be a solution to this and I'm just not seeing it. I'm also thinking it could be an OSX issue and not really a question for this forum, but I'm pretty sure it should be possible to just make the phone not requesting an internet ip.
I've tried to set a static IP but this won't work ether.
Does anyone have a clue on how to do? I'm quite desperate really. Been searching for a solution online for quite some time and I haven't found the right one. Probably because most people using ad-hoc want it's phone to connect to the internet and therefore not having my kind of trouble. Unfortunately I have no way of connecting my computer to the router with wire since the router is about 400 meters away. Once of corse, but i really need a wireless solution in the long run.
Thanks!
Christopher
My home internet with Sky just went down for a bit (it does it fairly often), so I decided that it was as good a time as any to text out Xbox Live through my Desire HD.
Due to the NAT settings being strict, it took a while to play a game (I was playing the Crysis 2 demo) but after joining a game everything ran smoothly from then on.
This was through the default HTC Wireless Hotspot.
Are there any other tethering apps that can allow port forwarding so I can play Xbox Live with an Open NAT?
p.s. I'm on The One Plan from 3 so I don't have to worry about data.
If there are any closed ports, which I'd imagine there would be, they'd be closed at 3's end.
You could try ringing then up and asking for certain ports to be opened. I wouldn't hold your breath thought.
As another Sky customer I feel your pain, had to do this on my Hero to get my FM3 fix. My Hero would only last 30-40 mins before reaching 60°c and power off for a few hours.
i used to connect to xbox live using my desire and a laptop, i set up a wireless hotspot with my desire, connect to it with my laptop, then set up a bridge between my wireless and wired adaptors, in network and sharing centre, then just connect my xbox to my laptop using the ethernet cable
Hello all
I have a question about getting multiplayer games to work over wifi.
I used to have a Palm Pre and it was as simple as opening the mobile hotspot app and having other devices connect to me and then we would be able to play. Now I still have my palm pre with all the gamesloft games I purchased and have purchased some for my evo.
I have tried the tweaked mobile hotspot on myns rom along with wifi tether and this dos not seem to work.
Can anyone help me get this working?
Im am currently running myns warm two poiint two rls5 and netarchy cfs havs more kernel.
Try connecting to the same wireless network, such as your wireless network at your home or an unsecured network you stumble across.
No that doesn't work.
If I set my pre up to host a game like sandstorm the evo recognizes it and can join. Now if I set the Evo to host a game the pre never finds it. This is over my home wireless.
I'd like to be able to not need anyone else's networks and have the phone do the work.
I've been using my Google skills over the past few weeks and its been mentioned that android can't provide adhoc or something like that. Nothing on this forum though its been mostly other forums. There doesn't seem to be much talk about this issue.
anyone have some knowledge on this subject?
