Is there a way I can flash just the stock recovery through Odin without having to flash the entire firmware? I'm currently rooted on the latest firmware with a customer coverage and everytime I reset the counter and reboot it gets set back to tripped. So I want to flash the stock recovery without losing root so I can reset the counter and then flash the entire firmware through odin again so I can send the phone back for exchange.

Pull out recovery.img, TAR it, flash it.
Ok and just converting it to a tar makes it safe to flash? I'veflashed many times but have never created a file to flash

If you download that and get the donation version, it has an option to make tar files. Doesn't matter that the toolkit is for the nexus 10 as far as just making tar files. I've used it to make cwm tars for my S2 and S4.
Title says it. My USB port on the phone is fried and I don't have an SD card. I need to convert it back to stock using only flashable files that I can download straight to the phone. Problem is, I haven't been able to find any. Currently running TWRP and CM10.1. Thanks for any help!

This, but make sure you clear the flash counter first.

Since I wiped all my data and was able to flash a custom rom, how do I get back to stock?
I saw a thread for all the other variants on this but not one specific for sprint.

I've been reading the guides so let me clarify: if I can get into download mode, I can skip the first guide?
And I don't see sprint DLL or tot file. Can you point me to the download?
Appreciate your help on this.

Do you mind if i make a thread in the sprint android development forum and link your server for easy access? Also I noticed download speeds are in the 100KB/sec. Is this because the server is getting hammered hard by downloads?

Is it possible for someone to make a nandroid backup of their stock ROM, then post a DL link?
Then we could just DL the backup, manually copy it to our phone to the proper folder, and restore it through TWRP or CWM. Does that work?
I've never tried but it seems much more simple! Sorry in advance if that is a stupid idea and doesn't work. If not, explain why!

No that doesn't work because you can't make a backup in TWRP or CWM of the stock based ROM when you are unrooted since if you are unrooted you can't flash TWRP or CWM. The earliest you can make a nandroid backup is right after you root and flash TWRP recovery.
When you do an OTA, the Sprint stock OTA update looks for valid files in certain directories that the root method might have changed and any certificates might be invalid so it doesn't install. That is why some folks who rooted and then do the OTA and the OTA install fails and they get bootlooped. This is why they say if you are rooted, do NOT take the OTA update. If you must, like in the case of Verizon you should take the OTA first when you are unrooted, let it install and then root.
Thanks for responding!

is there a flashable stock image? i had made a backup in twrp but somehow accidentally wiped everything including sdcard when i was wiping.
Am asking because I thought that the zip file we all downloaded could be flash via recovery and not just the flash tool?

Have you tried odining back to stock?
Install the stock rom with odin should work.
Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk
Yes I tried with odin still didnt work
Sent from my GT-I9505 using XDA Free mobile app
Do it twice without reboot in between, pull battery after first odin flash, uncheck "reboot " on odin.
Pp.
Does it matter if it says failed ?
Sent from my GT-I9505 using XDA Free mobile app
Check your work, make sure your flashing the correct rom for your device. try a different pc, wire, download also use latest odin (3.07)or higher. Google is your friend, Google it. Give more/better info on your phone, downloads, country, shoe size? ....... You tube.
Pp.
Couple things, one flash the same firmware your phone was on before or flash a newer one. Use stock cable. And lets not make more then one post for the same exact issue. One is sufficient enough.
Ditto!

I stupidly rooted my phone before taking the OTA update, and now of course I can't get the OTA because my device is modified. I just want to restore my system completely back to stock, but a factory reset doesn't modify the system so root is still there, and there aren't yet any stock firmware files anywhere for the Sprint S6, unfortunately. I've tried using Kies and Smart Switch to manually download the update, but of course our model isn't supported through that software. Is there any way to just return to a stock system? Or, did anyone happen to capture the OTA file before applying it?

Yeah but that requires a stock firmware file to flash in ODIN... there aren't any available for our phone, the G920P, anywhere. I've looked everywhere and it just doesn't exist.
I'm sorry u will have to wait for the firmware to be released.
