[Q] Is there an official US 4.2.2 firmware available for N5110?

No offense to the folks running good versions of the UK 4.2.2 firmware, but since the U.S. version is out does anyone have that available to install on a a rooted but stock N5110 wifi note 8?

I don't want the UK version (nothing against UK), but I can't seem to find the US one on the forums. Can someone link me if it is available? If not, just confirm that it isn't available yet and I'll just have to unroot and re-root.

My US GT-N5110 Note 8.0 was updated to 4.2.2 through the setup menu last week. I found a couple issues with it. I would rather to stay with 4.1.2.

not sure why you can't just upgrade to the US 4.2.2 via Kies and then just root it? I can see if you were asking for a deoxed zipalign stock version, but since you didn't mention anything of that... just unroot and turn your 4.1.2 back to stock, and load up Kies and upgrade to 4.2.2 then root it.

no. it is available....where did you guys come up that it is not?

First I was talking about a version to get that was downloadable on my own not via ota or kies.
I rooted but i am not running custom rom or recovery... Kept everything else stock.
And I can't unroot and update via ota because I get message about my device being modified still after I use voodoo rootkeeper. Anyway I am at a loss on how to update now anyway and I really don't want to use a custom rom. .

I have 2 Note 8.0s (GT-N5110). One is running CM10.2 and the other WAS running that CivZ ROM; now it's running stock 4.2.2 with root. I go back and forth between original ROM with these 2 units. Just using Kies going back to stock. and they are US version of 4.2.2

it is at http://www.sammobile.com/, go search your device number...make sure you download the right version. If you have N5110 US WiFi, you should be downloading "N5110UEFMI1_N5110XARFMI1_XAR.zip", unzip it, when you unzip, you should end up N5110UEFMI1_N5110XARFMI1_HOME.tar.md5, and then use odin to flash it...remember, this is stock firmware, so if you device rooted, you will loose...

Is it true that once we install the 4.3 leak (loserskater, agriff, saranhai roms for AT&T Galaxy S3 I747) there is no going back to stock?

I understand these 4.3 ROM's are stock but I'm wondering about the possibility of returning to stock via ODIN and upgrading non-root via AT&T?

From what I've read in many threads here last couple days, the correct statement is:
Once you have updated to 4.3 via OTA you cannot return to previous versions(ie 4.1.1 or 4.1.2) in any way.

I have upgraded to 4.3 and it really sucks. Battery drains so fast that I have to charge almost 3 times a day.
Does anyone have stock 4.1.2 rom? I want to downgrade.

There are 4.1.2 stock firmwares over at Sammobile.But i dont think you can return to 4.1.2 with a 4.3 Knoxed Bootloader

I have checked SamMobile it dont have 4.1.2 for India any more. just 4.3. I have downgraded to 4.1.1 and dont have any problem because of knoxed but just cant find any working 4.1.2 ROMS. I did tried few on XDA by Dr. Ketan.

[Q] cannot root galaxy s3 i747 4.3

Sir I updated my galaxy s3 i747 with leaked firmware 4.3 with no knox.
It has unrooted my phone.
When I try to root my phone again.
I cannot root it.
And im having a battery problem.
It drains very fast.

Which ROM did you flash? You have the s3 from AT&T?

try cf-auto root first, that doesnt help
look for the official 4.3 stock rom for i747 flash it then root with cf-auto root, see if that works
sorry am too laxy to find it, am sure its somewhere on this threads :laugh:

I've never seen an official AT&T stock 4.3 ROM. I know AT&T released 4.3 as an OTA update but don't think they released a full ROM.

Aren't those are re-packaged ROMs rather than being a complete 4.3 ROM similar to Rogers/Bell/Telus ROMs? To install, you have to Odin back to a stock rom or TW-based ROM.

am sure there is an official firmware from at&t and its hidden in this threads or somewhere on the net plus i was on a 4.1.2 stock, i dont like leaks just the official cleaned out so i did not have any problems with bootloaders/updating etc....... did not bother to use odin just flashed with CMW and everything worked
edit: devs need the official firmware from AT&T to work on , without it they have nothing (assuming you already know that)

AT&T did not release an official Odin tar for 4.1.2 or 4.3 it would be great if they did but they haven't and don't have any plans to do so.
Even without the tar files I think our developers have done a great job.

Agreed. The devs worked directly from the OTA. They never had the official firmware, as they all will tell you. You're not going to find it here or anywhere on the net.

I understand the devs had to re-create the ROM. My point was that these aren't stock, but they are certainly good to have around

AT&T released official for 4.1.2 , dont know what happned with 4.3 but blame Samsung cuz after 4.1.1 S3's update, updates went down from there ........4.1.2 update was great, 4.3 being a WTF and no 4.2.2 .........but am optimistic that 4.4 is coming for S3's and never will CM/AOKP/PARANOID roms forsake the S3 it will have 5+ versions

So since you allege AT&T released official firmware for 4.1.2(some other way than OTA) obviously my search skills aren't what they should be. Can you provide a link to backup your allegations?
Whether or not we get updates has little to do with Samsung and more to do with the service provider, and it is the service provider whom determines if we get an official copy released.
My thought is that AT&T is attempting to discourage us from customizing our devices. Some people have no business customizing anything and that can cause them to attempt to return their device under warranty. When the owner was the cause of the device failure that costs the provider money...

Btw I want to apologize to the OP here is a link to some roms that are pre rooted they're very close to stock with only minor differences mostly in its capabilities and some are debloated. These will get you rooted for sure, remove knox and should do what you want. I like the one from loserskater. This link below works only on the AT&T SGH-I747.

I installed on my MINI android 4.4.2 from here: sammobile.com/firmwares/3/?download=[spacebar]30856 and only THIS.
Now i want to realy, realy back to 4.2.2 XEO version.
Or official from samsung 4.2.2 then to 4.2.2 XEO...
Plz help xda!
ps. ofc seraching engine was on for several hours before I started this topic but nothink found...

You CANNOT downgrade to jelly bean. Only one JB firmware can be flashed. That is brazil ububne2. It has latest knox bootloader.
Any older jelly bean firmwares cannot be flashed. So as of now it is IMPOSSIBLE to downgrade from any kitkat to jb xeo.

You can install any other kitkat firmware if there is none available for your country. They work more often than not. You can try spain or germany unbranded kitkat roms. Good luck.
