Verizon HTC One M7 Not Able To Boot Anything - Verizon HTC One (M7)

So this is my last resort.. I have been trying everything for like a week to try and fix this thing. It all started after I tried flashing a custom Viper rom. I had S-OFF through sunshine i bought a license for 25$. After I installed custom rom I got a boot loop which I couldn't fix and have tried RUU's and all and still can't get anything to boot other then CWM Recovery. I have root and the phone still says S-OFF but for some reason it says RELOCKED which I didn't do. Anyways, I just want the phone to boot up normal STOCK I've tried downloading a few of the files across the forums and nothing will flash. If anyone could help me out I would greatly appreciate it.
Here is my fastboot getvar:

You are not on a verizon software **(bootloader)version-main: 1.29.401.12** . The most recent is 5.28.605.2. Change your cid to supercid 11111111 using fastboot command >fastboot oem writecid 11111111
Then to htcdev.com. register or login. Run the unlock bootloader program following the directions exactly. Then you will get an unlock token. Use that unlock token while super cid (11111111) to unlock bootloader.
There is also a tutorial on here using adb shell commands to lock and unlock

That's weird, I tried using the htcdev method to unlock the bootloader when I first got the phone and it gave an error that it wouldn't work for some reason, and alot of others online had the same issue. Well I'm so glad my bootloader says unlocked again now hopefully I can flash a ROM and get this phone working again, its been about 2 weeks!
How do I find the right bootloader I need and which one do I need to download?
Thanks alot aaronpw

If you're trying to flash the RUU ZIP you HAVE to use htc_fastboot.exe as the Google fastboot file can't flash the ZIP. You can get it here (I pulled it from the latest EU RUU)
at the moment i'm flashing from SD card, that finds that file automatically. my CID is 111111
When my network reception disappeared i was listening to spottily din't do anything to the phone and din't install anything that required Root for 3-4 weeks, not sure what happened
So tried that method still no luck, hopefuly they will take it in warranty
Post your fastboot getvar all (minus serial no. & imei no.)
I believe you need x.xx.771.x ROM and firmware version because your device is H3G, and I have all versions x.xx.771.x backups

You need SuperSU installed to run that lock command
If you still have TWRP installed (not sure about other custom recovery), you can boot to recovery then run that command while in recovery (this way you don't need SuperSU installed)
just run adb shell
then that echo part
(only two commands)

With this EU WWE details, I don't know whether Three UK will accept your device under warranty ... someone else need to advise you as I'm not familiar with that region.
In my region ... if I have other Asia ROM even with LOCKED & S-ON status, they still cannot accept because the IMEI is registered under ASIA WWE which is x.xx.707.x
I'm in recovery now, but trying and getting this: error: device not found
Just to double check in bootloader i just select Recovery? or wait does it have to be Unofficial Recovery or HTC one?
This phone is going in HTC not Three so dont think that should cause any problems?
Sorted thanks, my device was showing Relocked so had to unlock it again. but now it shows Locket, now just need to get SD card and reinstall system, and send it to HTC only thing i have is S-Off so hope HTC wont be picky about this, because when i spoke to Support staff he did mention that unlocked bootloader will void warranty so not sure how to take on this

Phone is locked at bootloader, tampered and relocked

Ok, I feel insanely stupid, but last night I flashed LiquidSmooth on my phone and everything looked awesome. I didn't realize it until this morning that the sound doesn't work on the phone (my alarm didn't wake me up), and out of curiosity, I started digging around and realized that it wasn't able to play videos and the microphone didn't work for any apps. As I looked online, I realized that I needed to update my firmware to get my functions back. Since I haven't done this before, I jumped online and followed along with a guide that told me to run the command 'fastboot oem lock' before I flashed the firmware. It was early, so I didn't think about it until I hit enter and then realized that I just relocked my phone that runs off of an unlocked recovery/ROM.
Upon booting, it shows the bootloader screen:
*** TAMPERED ***
***RELOCKED ***
***Security Warning***

OS-1.10.605.10 (1.10.605.15)
eMMC-boot 2048MB
Nov. 8 2013....
If I choose to try to go into the bootloader, it reboots the device and ends up right back at FASTBOOT. The only other screen I am able to get it into is the black HTC bootloader (fastboot reboot oem rebootRUU).
I've done some research on it, and it looks like I absolutely must unlock the bootloader before I can do anything, but without being able to boot into adb to run Firewater, I can't think of any other way. I feel like the OS 1.10.605.10 being red is what stands out to me, but I am unable to find a 1.10.605.10 signed/encrypted RUU to flash to it (anything unsigned fails). Also, here is the getvar information that I cam coming up with -

Near bottom of second post is a link to the ruu for the version of your firmware so you can use rumrunner to s-off and unlock again. Be sure to download the signed one. You would flash it in ruu mode (fastboot oem rebootRUU, then fastboot flash zip ruu.zip twice to successfully flash the ruu). You could use the 4.4.3 s-on ruu, but then to unlock and s-off you would have to use sunshine.
Sent from my HTC6500LVW using XDA Free mobile app
Thank you!
I couldn't find the signed firmware anywhere else, so I nearly gave up. This totally worked and my phone is now alive and well!

Sunshine

I'm having a problem being able to launch apps on my One M8 ATT... I Don't have any apps on my home page and ATT Ready2Go keeps crashing on me. Can someone give me a command line so I can launch SunShine on my device through ADB, that way I can S-Off and go back to a different ROM.
Why would you need s-off to install a different rom ?

The phone won't allow me to install anything through an RUU. Every RUU I've tried fails with a 155 Reason (Incorrect RUU) and shows "Loading zip file fail!" in the bootloader. A friend of mine has been working on it, got SunShine installed on the phone. But we want to run it to get the phone in to S-OFF. I'm not too savvy with ABD and that's what he's been using to talk to the phone. I also can't transfer items to the phone via USB even though I have drivers and MTP is running. The phone is a mess and I'm trying to avoid sending to HTC to restore it ($$$$$), or just telling my carrier that I "lost" it and pay the deductible to get a new one. Feels like I'm really close to fixing the phone, just not quite there yet.
If you know of a ROM I could try to flash, I'll give it a shot. I'm running out of options and time. Before I just get a new phone. My friend has helped me out a lot, but it's just not quite there yet.

You need to relock your bootloader in order to run an RUU while you are S-On.
In fastboot: fastboot oem lock
Then run the proper RUU again.
I'd link you to the proper RUU, but you haven't given enough info.
In fastboot: fastboot getvar all and post the results minus your IMEI and ser# (private information), unless you already know what the proper RUU to run is already.

Not sure what you can tell from this, but I'll wait for a response before I do anything else. I'd also like to get the recent version of TWRP and SuperSU on here as well. The RUU you need can be found here.
Scroll down to the Manual System Update Instructions, and read them. The RUU download is at the end of the instructions.
You can unlock the bootloader again through HTCDev.com. After you are unlocked, flash TWRP from here in fastboot, then use that recovery to flash SuperSU from here.

I can NOT appreciate and thank you for your assistance in this! I went ahead and locked the bootloader and restored the original image with the RUU you linked me to, yesterday. Couldn't wait to try, haha. I had to sweet talk the HTC Live Chat person to tell me if I could use the RUU for the same software version as I had. Phone has been working like a champ. I'm gonna give it another day or two to settle in, do a few backups just in-case the flash doesn't go well.
I will definitely unlock the bootloader again and flash TWRP and SuperSU. But I imagine going S-OFF is just off the table right now since I'm a bit stripped of funds. I can afford it, haha, but my funds are already allocated towards adulting and such.
Again, THANK you for the support! This has been a learning experience.:good::good::good::good::good:

Relock bootloader won't do any good for you. S-Off doesn't need a relocked bootloader to install 6.20.651.3 RUU.
Step 1 : install 6.20.651.3 firmware
Step 2 : install 6.20.651.3 RUU
You can get those on the same link in post #2 & #4

Sent from my HTC One M8 using XDA Labs
Thanks all! I flash firmware, then run ruu, it success.

Please help me urgently!!!!!

I was following some tutorial and I decided to 'Relock' my bootloader. So I didn't that but then a flag came up underneath it saying "Security Concerns" or something like that. Then using fastboot/ADB I got it to the screen with just the grey HTC text and then I tried to flash the RUU over to the device but I got some error 41 saying the model id check failed. From there I discovered I'm stuck in a bootloop...I can't get into TWRP or boot the phone up at all...Just keeps going back to fastboot. I can't reset or do anything. Please help me get out of this mess and then hopefully help me unroot it!

I was following some tutorial and I decided to 'Relock' my bootloader. So I didn't that Don't know what that last bit means, I think you left out a word(s). Did you attempt to relock the bootloader or not? If so, was it successful, or did you have errors? Most importantly, on the bootloader screen, does it say the bootloader is LOCKED, UNLOCKED or RELOCKED? My advice is if its unlocked, to leave it that way (more on this later)
Then using fastboot/ADB I got it to the screen with just the grey HTC text and then I tried to flash the RUU over to the device but I got some error 41 saying the model id check failed. I don't your version M8 (Telus) has an RUU. The RUU must match your version carrier ID (CID) and model ID (MID) or it will fail. Normally, I'd ask which version number RUU you tried (there are dozens of different RUUs). But in your case, it doesn't really matter, as I don't think there are any RUUs which will work for you.
From there I discovered I'm stuck in a bootloop...I can't get into TWRP or boot the phone up at all...Just keeps going back to fastboot. I can't reset or do anything. Please help me get out of this mess and then hopefully help me unroot it!
How exactly to proceed depends on whether the bootloader is presently UNLOCKED or not. If its locked, no boot (no OS) is the expected result, as it expects the RUU to be run. My advice would be to unlock the bootloader (if its relocked), flash TWRP, then see if you can then boot into TWRP. From there, restore a stock backup.

Also, please do fastboot getvar all, and post the results (delete IMEI and serial number) so we can see more info about the device.

Yes sorry about the confusing post, I was running on little sleep. I did succeed in relocking my bootloader and it now reads "***RELOCKED***."
Being that it is relocked could you give me a step by step on how to unlock it and flash TWRP as you mentioned in the ending of your post. Your response gives me hope so thank you so much!

You can unlock the bootloader again, either by using fastboot command and the unlock bin code you originally used to unlock it. Otherwise, just go through the process again on HTCDev.com, and get a new bin code.
From there, flash TWRP, and then restore the 6.13.661.9 stock TWRP backup using the instructions and files found here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/help/tutorial-how-to-stock-stock-twrp-t3086860
Only need to do through Step 10, then reboot to OS. No need to restore stock recovery, as there are no more OTA updates for this phone.
