Probably not.. New launcher will clash with old one and fc immediately..

**hint ** go to launcher settings and set double tap gesture to screen off to get double tap to sleep and wake is set by default.

Thanks a lot for this Droyd! I was wondering if someone could take a screenshot of the changelog in the about phone menu. I am trying to decide if I should flash this after work or say screw it and flash at work... HR is pretty lax around here lol

It is stated in the OP that this is based off of Liquid, CM and SlimRoms.
just sideloaded.. waiting on first boot.

Lollipop pa_gapps 5.0 alpha 1
I assume the preferred google apps for this ROM are gapps-lp-20141109-signed.
Has anyone in this thread used TKruzze's pa_gapps-micro-5.0-ALPHA1-20141117a-signed on this or any of the Lollipop flavored ROMS?
Apparently PA GApps 2.0 is all-new and completely re-writen from the ground up. You currently have the option of configuring the installer.
I'm confident they are fine but they are alpha and I just wanted to see if anyone here had any 1st hand experience?

Downloading now. Thanks dude!

Up and running. I used the "gapps-lp-20141109-signed" package and did a full wipe.
This has most of the customization bits from CM that i love and have missed. Very happy so far. It's nice to see a rom that's coming together.
Good work!

I've used the PA Gapps you have linked on every 5.0 rom I've flashed so far, and haven't had a single issue with them yet.

Outstanding work super smooth. Faux sound works great. I'm using QuickReboot for reboots and to get to recovery easier. Screenshot Easy works great for screenshots.

If this is "based" off of CM, then it wouldn't be allowed in the original section. I'm more inclined to believe it's ASOP based with CM, SLIM, LIQUID, cherry picks.

Go to the first post.....
"Credit goes out across the board to all the android community. but the majority of it will be Cyanogenmod and SlimRoms. We include most major features from both these teams along with others like Liquid Smooth so Thank you for being open source. "
It appears to be the compilation of source code from these builds, compiled to be his own custom work... So, yes, it is original, even if it is based off of Cyanogenmod, because it is not Cyanogenmod and it is his own "Official"/"Original" work.

You're mistaking based off, and cherry picks. I read the OP quite clearly. If it's in the Original section, that means it's built from source. He may use a lot of features from various ROMs, but it's still original. If this was actually BASED on any of those ROMs, no matter what he did, it would go in the other section. Hence, why PAC, AOSPA, etc are all in the other section.

My apologizes, I mistook you as someone being less informed. The general consensus is that most people will be clueless when you say cherry picked, so it is easier to refer to it as based off of one and/or the other, even though not entirely correct(easier for those a bit more ignorant to grasp). You are correct, at least in my understanding, about that statement.

Yes... ;-) Good to see you over here.
There might be a wifi issue with the build bot build. I'm building my own as a bandaid while I fix the aokp source. So if that official build doesn't work I'll have one up soon. Sit tight boys. I'll get you one.
Nice, I can't believe AOKP team restarted adding new devices to the list of the officially supported ones since they said they won't. Good news, thanks for the thread .

I can be very persuasive ;-)
Check the test builds link for a build with working wifi. You guys can peak in there from time to time at your own risk. I post builds with stuff I'm working on that is ready for peeps to play with. They are built from my repo which means they have extra goodies too.

Glad to see this over here, since I use your AOKP build on my Fascinate. Just curious, what kernel is this using? Most of the ICS ROMs for the KF are using Hashcodes' 3.x kernel (or a variation of it) as it enables things like hardware acceleration. I know the Fascinate ROM uses the Glitched kernel, so I was curious how that translated over to the KF.

Hashcodes kernel it's the best kernel for the fire right now so we are using that. If we decide to get glitchy we will probably push changes his way and let him do his thing. No point in remaking the wheel.

this looks very nice. What are the current issues (as of 5/24/12)? Sorry if this is a repeat.

I think the Build bot build (Official Build has wacky wifi due to an old kernel) The test build I put up has everything working but usb as far as I can tell. It's my wifes kindle so I only get it at night when she goes to sleep to work on it...
I'll be pushing the updated Hashcode kernel to AOKPs gerrit tonight so the Official build bot will put out good builds from here on out.

Thank you. There's a couple of things I noticed might be missing (or maybe different between CM9 and AOKP):
1. I can't find the Hold Back to Kill option anywhere. I know it's on the Fascinate build, so I'm probably just missing it.
2. On the CM9 roms I've used (like the stock one Hash uses with his kernel), there's an option to Hide Status Bar (I think it's typically somewhere under Display). It allows a few apps to actually use full screen (Netflix and Google Play Books are two I can think of). Without the option, the buttons on the status bar basically become dim circles, but are still present. Not really a big deal, but thought I'd mention it.
Thanks again for the great work.

Use the build from the test link the build bot isn't building the most up to date kernel... Already been stated.

Love AOKP on my RAZR and have tried a couple of AOKP roms from months ago that were kinda iffy. Glad to see the kindle supported officially (unlike cm9 yet) and as a crackflasher i appreciate the timely updates from the AOKP branch..Thank you for compiling this rom!!!

[ROM] [4.4.4] SlimKat (toro) [STABLE/WEEKLY]

SlimRoms is a custom android operating system. The main goal is to offer users a slimmed down but still feature rich alternative to other android operating systems.
The entire SlimTeam work together to bring you this tailor-made beauty straight from Android Open Source Project (AOSP) source code.
All of the sources can be publicly viewed through GitHub and you can stop by the public Gerrit to submit patches of any type.
SlimKat is the project name for SlimRoms based on Android 4.4 and offers the following original features:
The Real Dark Slim
Full system-wide dark interfaces. - If you like it smooth and classy.
Custom Shortcuts. Everywhere.
Hardware keys, Navigation Ring, Navigation Bar, Lockscreen, Tiles, Notifications etc. - We've got you covered.
System-Wide Keyboard Controls
Rotation, cursor control, optional emoticions, etc. - You'll be tapping away to your heart's content.
SlimCenter
Downloads, contact information, system app removal. - More fun than you can shake a stick at.
Camera Features
Trueview, Smart Capture. - Capture life moments with ease.
Important links:

Installation instructions - Follow these steps to the letter if you're about to install SlimRoms on your device.
Latest Changelog - Read here if you want information on changes in latest build.

Disclaimer: SlimRoms are not responsible for any damages to your device.
Some hints:
1. Be sure you are on latest CWM or TWRP recovery!!!!!!
2. Not all gapps packages right now are nice working. You can try others but at least I know that the one linked here is working. If you have other gapps which are working you can link it here of course
3. Full wipe when coming from any 4.3 or 4.4 rom (as well format system manually please)
Reporting Bugs
When you submit a bug you want to make sure that nothing from your side is causing it. Otherwise your developer might be hunting a bug which doesn't really exist.
The best way to achieve this is by doing the following.
1. Make a nandroid backup.
2. Perform a full wipe (factory reset + wipe /system)
Now we have two different ways depending on what kind of problem you're having.
3a. When you're having a problem with a ROM function, flash just the ROM without GAPPS etc. and boot back into the system. You will boot directly onto the homescreen.
3b. When you're having a problem with a 3rd party app in combination with our ROM then flash the ROM and GAPPS.
Boot now back into the system. You will boot to the setup wizard.
Log in to your Google account but make sure that you untick "Restore from my Google Account to this phone/tablet".
Finish the setup and open the playstore and download only the app you're having problems with.
4. Start a logcat recording and reproduce the bug (if possible more than once) while taking the logcat. If you don't know how to get a logcat read this tutorial or this.
5. Post the logcat in a txt file (this is important because you otherwise clog up the threads with your log) in the correct thread.
Please also write detailed description how we can reproduce the bug.
6. Restore your backup from point 1 and wait for a fix (don't ask for ETAs).
First. Also, Thanks!
Can this be home brewed?
EDIT: NVM
Damn right. I'm on slimbean weekly now, gonna nandroid this ***** right now and shoot over to slimkat. THANKS!

GPS is spotty for me so far, sometimes it works other times it just sits there. Only tested in my house so far, will see how it works tomorrow out in other areas. Other than that, only the noted issues so far.
Nice work, glad to see yet another 4.4 ROM for the VZW Galaxy Nexus! I think we're even beating the GSM Galaxy Nexus now!! Haha.
and just when I decide to capture a logcat while trying gps, it worked first time. Of course
I just got a build done and testing. I can't believe how smooth it is for being an alpha. This is going to be a sick rom when it hits beta builds. Awesome work!
I'm guessing LTE works on this?

been running two other Alpha builds One from here and one from RootzWiki. Strange but for some reason the one from here was like 153mb while the one from there was 328mb I think. That is the one I am running now and I am really digging it this KK will be scrumptrulescent when modded and themed!!!!! SUPERFAST and not that many glitches for Alpha builds. Anyways let me know, I am available for testing.

I haven't actually flashed any of the 4.4 ROMs yet (just got crdroid 4.3.1 set up with kitkat apps and I like the working data), just thought I'd put my two cents in on the graphical glitches. I've seen several posts for different ROMs talking about glitches in animations, just curious if turning off animations in developer settings would "fix" the problem until it's actually worked out?

F yeahhhhh, thank you. What kernel did you use?
Awesome work! I'm glad you're on this. I made myself a build awhile back but it didn't turn out how I wanted.
What kernel do you have in this first build? Is it ak genesis?
What are the plans for implementing the new features floating around? Better battery and camera patches for gee?
^^Haha. You beat me to it. I'm watching Sherlock Holmes so I was distracted and took longer than I thought to type.

For now, built in kernel is AK Genesis. I may switch it in the future, or improve it, not sure yet. As for the rest, I'm already looking into the camera patches. Everything else will be as time permits.
If you are hoping to get official support then keep it "stock", otherwise go mod crazy. With fausts camera patches it will be perfect.

I'm not building any Roms in hope of official support. When your official your obligated, and rightfully so, to contribute to the rom regularly. While I'm all for contributing, and do whenever possible, it's easier for me to tweak and build things on my own time right now

That's life man. I stay pretty busy myself nowadays. Had some free time today so decided to dive in. Glad to hear from you man.
Solid effort here. It is, however, missing torch, which isn't a big deal since there's enough of those apps out there to download. The issue does occur when, in Phone settings, I try to check the Pulse torch on incoming call setting, where it force closes. But again, this rom is so solid that minor things like this just becomes apparent.
Nice job.

That's also something connected to torch not working. Once torch works, it should as well. I should have it fixed today.

I believe it is, but I'm waiting, like several others, for the Dev to push his work to github so I can build the commits in. I tried to apply the patches last night, but turns out I suck at patches I plan on trying again tonight just so I know how, but regardless it's hopefully coming soon. Also, when you applied it to my DU, did you flash that zip? Or how else did you do it?

Yes, I flashed the experimental franco kernel zip that faux posted... but it turned out it autoreboots A LOT, maybe because faust implemented, besides the camera, bus undervoltage (I don't know what that is, but faust said that in his thread). It doesn't reboot only in DU, it also reboots the CM ROM faust has in his thread.
But the camera in it, wow, it's 5000x better than gee camera.
EDIT - I don't know jack **** about this stuff, but could this help you?

Thanks for the link, I'll check it out. I couldn't even get the zip to flash, but the extra stuff is probably the reason it reboots.

Update in OP. Few kernel updates, nothing special, just some functionality stuff. Updated gapps link since Banks retired. Working on gproj today. Enjoy

WARNING: this is untested and i can not test it i am not held responsible for anything that happens to your device when flashing this.
Okay ive had allot more time for developing but i didn't want to do kernels i was gonna make a pure AOSP 5.0 lollipop build based on CM12/AOSP and i was slowly gonna make it more and more stock pure AOSP. But when i woke up and it was done building my Verizon HTC One decided to die on me so here's the first/untested build. Never tested straight from being built now this is mostly just plain CM12 i will be posting a new build with stock settings and more CM12 features removed.
I was slowly gonna merge this with pure AOSP and just use Cyanogenmod device tree/CM hardware components
If i get testers i will update this with more of a AOSP experience but if i don't get enough testers i will have to stop support until or if i can get my hands on a new VZW HTC One.
All the credit goes to Cyanogenmod team for there awesome work!

What's the point if you aren't going to test or fix issues? We already have a thread that is doing much more than this.

I said if people test i will fix and update the ROM and i am trying to get a new HTC One to test on.
Thank you for this. CM is a little careless on their merging of commits. I will test tonight and report back.

If you're changing source code then you should be maintaining your own git instead of just linking to CM. Especially considering you don't have an m7 to test with.

It booted up fine. Call worked sms worked camera worked. That's all I got. Seemed nice and smooth but had to switch back to old rom because I'm on call and need something I know works for the night. I think your build is good I'm just a little paranoid about staying on something that I haven't used a lot. I will use it more later in the week and report back.

And you can say thanks when i actually do more to it i don't deserve that yet as its mostly cms work at the moment.
Seems to be working fine, though the front facing camera acts weird... Looks like a CM12 issue though as I tried santod's port too and it did the same thing.
Great job
Ive been using this since shortly after you released it, it appears to work fine. I even have the face unlock feature active and it works flawless.
dude, battery life on this is stellar. it blows cm12 out of the water. i use to hemorrhage battery at 8.1% per hour, with this i actually get deep sleep and dropped to about 2.6%
Good job on the build. Much better than i expected.
Everything seems to be working great, except Bluetooth. I can connect to my speaker and headphones fine, but when you play Pandora, it just keeps skipping to the next song and never plays. Google Music is wonky too. Many thanks for working on this ROM!
I'm having issues with the touch screen becoming unresponsive at times. Only way out is a hard reboot.

Paranoid Android 5.0Hello friends, this is my unofficial build of Paranoid Android. I'll put information here when I think of stuff to put here...
About AOSPAParanoid Android is a custom ROM aiming to extend the system, working on enhancing the already existing beauty of Android and following the same design philosophies that were set forward by Google for Android Open Source Project.
Paranoid Android is often considered one of the most cutting edge ROMs. The team at PA more often than not brings everything to the table and more to boast tasteful design and elegant performance.

Happy flashing friends, it took me a good amount of time to get this working, I hope you enjoy it. There's not much in terms of features right now. I assume they're working on that. We are on the legacy builds, so we get everything after the official ones do. Buuuut, we have PARANOID ANDROID NOW YIPPEE!
A few notes:
-I have added my own kernel to this build mainly because in order to get the build to go correctly I had to remove an important part of the source kernel or two (it didn't play nice D:<)
-For the current build (25th) I have added a Bluetooth commit from Cyanogen that is not in the normal build in order to well, make the ROM compile. But also, Bluetooth might have an issue or two because it's my own little changes not an official PA change.
-Updates are planned on a weekly basis. Please be patient, I have a life outside of this that is very demanding.
-I may not be able to fix everything, and everything probably doesn't work. The sources for this build are a day or two old because of all the time I spent fixing everything up. It's smooth sailing from here on out friends
-Of course, enjoy the ROM!!!
So this post is reserved.
But also, we have PA now! We would have had it sooner if I wasn't so darn stupid and used the legacy sources instead of the official sources from the start!
Either way, happy flashing.
Ill be the 1st to test this bad boy...thanks
Thank u
Ill be the second. Will report any bugs...
Can you port the latest PA kitkat rom. That would be awesome!!!
Anybody tested it? Can I install it on Korean F240S?
Nice job!
Sent from my LG-E980 using Tapatalk
After doing some testing the messaging and such could use a little work. Also, screen doesn't turn on with the home button for me. I can't use my swipy keyboard but that's probably the gapp's fault not PA's.
It is also missing tons of features Cyanogenmod/Bliss would have otherwise. I think this is because it's in Alpha and they're trying to bring everything up to Lollipop
Either way, I'm just really happy it finally works. Flasher beware, it's not in the best shape right now. But as the days roll on we'll see a complete ROM come up.
And PA Kitkat? Hmmm, maybe I WOULD like to set that up, but I just got Lollipop rolling, and the Java would have to be downgraded, my sources would, it'd take a while for ONE build, you know? We'll see how I feel about it in the coming days. Of course keep your eye out for other possible ROMs coming up you never know what's around the corner...

Search for the F240 kernel for CM12. Should work. No promises though

It is, but it's very heavily modified. They use some of CMs stuff, and then a lot of it is a very smooth custom job. You know? Hardest ROM to build for me so far hands down. Just build LS and it took me one try... Very easy compared to this beast
