Im working on an LS970 version as well. Having a few issues at the moment, but hope to have one out soon.

F yeahhhhh, thank you. What kernel did you use?
Awesome work! I'm glad you're on this. I made myself a build awhile back but it didn't turn out how I wanted.
What kernel do you have in this first build? Is it ak genesis?
What are the plans for implementing the new features floating around? Better battery and camera patches for gee?
^^Haha. You beat me to it. I'm watching Sherlock Holmes so I was distracted and took longer than I thought to type.

For now, built in kernel is AK Genesis. I may switch it in the future, or improve it, not sure yet. As for the rest, I'm already looking into the camera patches. Everything else will be as time permits.
If you are hoping to get official support then keep it "stock", otherwise go mod crazy. With fausts camera patches it will be perfect.

I'm not building any Roms in hope of official support. When your official your obligated, and rightfully so, to contribute to the rom regularly. While I'm all for contributing, and do whenever possible, it's easier for me to tweak and build things on my own time right now

That's life man. I stay pretty busy myself nowadays. Had some free time today so decided to dive in. Glad to hear from you man.
Solid effort here. It is, however, missing torch, which isn't a big deal since there's enough of those apps out there to download. The issue does occur when, in Phone settings, I try to check the Pulse torch on incoming call setting, where it force closes. But again, this rom is so solid that minor things like this just becomes apparent.
Nice job.

That's also something connected to torch not working. Once torch works, it should as well. I should have it fixed today.

I believe it is, but I'm waiting, like several others, for the Dev to push his work to github so I can build the commits in. I tried to apply the patches last night, but turns out I suck at patches I plan on trying again tonight just so I know how, but regardless it's hopefully coming soon. Also, when you applied it to my DU, did you flash that zip? Or how else did you do it?

Yes, I flashed the experimental franco kernel zip that faux posted... but it turned out it autoreboots A LOT, maybe because faust implemented, besides the camera, bus undervoltage (I don't know what that is, but faust said that in his thread). It doesn't reboot only in DU, it also reboots the CM ROM faust has in his thread.
But the camera in it, wow, it's 5000x better than gee camera.
EDIT - I don't know jack **** about this stuff, but could this help you?

Thanks for the link, I'll check it out. I couldn't even get the zip to flash, but the extra stuff is probably the reason it reboots.

Yes... ;-) Good to see you over here.
There might be a wifi issue with the build bot build. I'm building my own as a bandaid while I fix the aokp source. So if that official build doesn't work I'll have one up soon. Sit tight boys. I'll get you one.
Nice, I can't believe AOKP team restarted adding new devices to the list of the officially supported ones since they said they won't. Good news, thanks for the thread .

I can be very persuasive ;-)
Check the test builds link for a build with working wifi. You guys can peak in there from time to time at your own risk. I post builds with stuff I'm working on that is ready for peeps to play with. They are built from my repo which means they have extra goodies too.

Glad to see this over here, since I use your AOKP build on my Fascinate. Just curious, what kernel is this using? Most of the ICS ROMs for the KF are using Hashcodes' 3.x kernel (or a variation of it) as it enables things like hardware acceleration. I know the Fascinate ROM uses the Glitched kernel, so I was curious how that translated over to the KF.

Hashcodes kernel it's the best kernel for the fire right now so we are using that. If we decide to get glitchy we will probably push changes his way and let him do his thing. No point in remaking the wheel.

this looks very nice. What are the current issues (as of 5/24/12)? Sorry if this is a repeat.

I think the Build bot build (Official Build has wacky wifi due to an old kernel) The test build I put up has everything working but usb as far as I can tell. It's my wifes kindle so I only get it at night when she goes to sleep to work on it...
I'll be pushing the updated Hashcode kernel to AOKPs gerrit tonight so the Official build bot will put out good builds from here on out.

Thank you. There's a couple of things I noticed might be missing (or maybe different between CM9 and AOKP):
1. I can't find the Hold Back to Kill option anywhere. I know it's on the Fascinate build, so I'm probably just missing it.
2. On the CM9 roms I've used (like the stock one Hash uses with his kernel), there's an option to Hide Status Bar (I think it's typically somewhere under Display). It allows a few apps to actually use full screen (Netflix and Google Play Books are two I can think of). Without the option, the buttons on the status bar basically become dim circles, but are still present. Not really a big deal, but thought I'd mention it.
Thanks again for the great work.

Love AOKP on my RAZR and have tried a couple of AOKP roms from months ago that were kinda iffy. Glad to see the kindle supported officially (unlike cm9 yet) and as a crackflasher i appreciate the timely updates from the AOKP branch..Thank you for compiling this rom!!!

Paranoid Android 5.0Hello friends, this is my unofficial build of Paranoid Android. I'll put information here when I think of stuff to put here...
About AOSPAParanoid Android is a custom ROM aiming to extend the system, working on enhancing the already existing beauty of Android and following the same design philosophies that were set forward by Google for Android Open Source Project.
Paranoid Android is often considered one of the most cutting edge ROMs. The team at PA more often than not brings everything to the table and more to boast tasteful design and elegant performance.

Happy flashing friends, it took me a good amount of time to get this working, I hope you enjoy it. There's not much in terms of features right now. I assume they're working on that. We are on the legacy builds, so we get everything after the official ones do. Buuuut, we have PARANOID ANDROID NOW YIPPEE!
A few notes:
-I have added my own kernel to this build mainly because in order to get the build to go correctly I had to remove an important part of the source kernel or two (it didn't play nice D:<)
-For the current build (25th) I have added a Bluetooth commit from Cyanogen that is not in the normal build in order to well, make the ROM compile. But also, Bluetooth might have an issue or two because it's my own little changes not an official PA change.
-Updates are planned on a weekly basis. Please be patient, I have a life outside of this that is very demanding.
-I may not be able to fix everything, and everything probably doesn't work. The sources for this build are a day or two old because of all the time I spent fixing everything up. It's smooth sailing from here on out friends
-Of course, enjoy the ROM!!!
So this post is reserved.
But also, we have PA now! We would have had it sooner if I wasn't so darn stupid and used the legacy sources instead of the official sources from the start!
Either way, happy flashing.
Ill be the 1st to test this bad boy...thanks
Thank u
Ill be the second. Will report any bugs...
Can you port the latest PA kitkat rom. That would be awesome!!!
Anybody tested it? Can I install it on Korean F240S?
Nice job!
Sent from my LG-E980 using Tapatalk
After doing some testing the messaging and such could use a little work. Also, screen doesn't turn on with the home button for me. I can't use my swipy keyboard but that's probably the gapp's fault not PA's.
It is also missing tons of features Cyanogenmod/Bliss would have otherwise. I think this is because it's in Alpha and they're trying to bring everything up to Lollipop
Either way, I'm just really happy it finally works. Flasher beware, it's not in the best shape right now. But as the days roll on we'll see a complete ROM come up.
And PA Kitkat? Hmmm, maybe I WOULD like to set that up, but I just got Lollipop rolling, and the Java would have to be downgraded, my sources would, it'd take a while for ONE build, you know? We'll see how I feel about it in the coming days. Of course keep your eye out for other possible ROMs coming up you never know what's around the corner...

It is, but it's very heavily modified. They use some of CMs stuff, and then a lot of it is a very smooth custom job. You know? Hardest ROM to build for me so far hands down. Just build LS and it took me one try... Very easy compared to this beast

It's really really stable actually, @thompatry did weeks worth of testing before releasing. The only bug that has been noticed is the bug where mic is quiet with speakerphone
Awesome!!
nice, long time since i have seen a new rom

There are a lot of changes incoming. (for the most part they are related to the kernel) The force reboot issue, which could happen is already fixed and only have to be merged. I'm really happy that we have devs like them :highfive:

The changes are just updating the kernel to what CM has and they're from motorola.
Also, @thompatry and I are cracking away at the speakerphone bug. We've accomplished breaking the mic, or fixing the volume but adding some extreme feedback, or causing the device to not boot at all
So, progress
We'll try to keep you guys updated on that
If any of you have ideas to throw at us to fix it (please think through them and test if you can) please do
Would it help, if I make a adb logcat during a call?
Edit: The extreme feedback also exists on CM if you call through both speakers instead oft just the top one. If I remember correctly our MXP has 3 mics, 2 for noice cancelling. Maybe disabling one or two would help
Am I missing it or is there no customization of the Power Menu?
Plus boot up and reboot times seem very long compared to other roms for this phone
Has anyone figure how to stop the notification light from flashing while on the charger but still be set up to receive notifications without turning off the notification light?
Ah the little things do make such a difference.

That bug has been common in CM roms for a while, have not really sen that bug too much in AOSP roms.

You'd have to dig around, I don't think so but I'm not sure
Pretty sure there isn't extreme feedback on Slim, or so I was told by @thompatry, I don't own a clark myself.
Dunno about reboot times tho
And yeah, we're aware its a common bug on a lot of roms, but we're not letting that stop us
We'll get there eventually
I had one reboot during a call and few ui freezes.... Btw the rom is awsome and it sleeps like a baby. Thanks! Waiting for the next =]
very stable rom fast and smooth and light no bloatware at all, is there anyway to add the color calibration from stock versions i just like the saturated colors hehe
This rom is amazing. Its is one the fastest I have seen on the X Pure. Thanks a lot
Can you please add clear all option in the recents panel and advanced reboot option?
I'm facing a bug: Whenever someone calls me I'm unable to hear their voice but they can hear me, but when I call them both of us are able to hear each other and there are no problems.

Glad to hear the ROM is good, but we didn't tweak color calibration from cm's kernel, and unless it's handled in-kernel, there's no way for us to add it, and I'm almost 100% positive that we're using a motorola based kernel.

Bug Reporting:
First off, do not report bugs that already exist in LineageOS upstream or ResurrectionRemix upstream. Most bugs need to be reported to them and not me anyways. Basically, if it doesn't have to do with call recording, don't post it here. If it's a kernel issue or EAS issue, please post in my EAS kernel thread.
DO NOT POST ABOUT PROBLEMS WITH YOUR PIN/PASSWORD OR DECRYPTION ISSUES. THIS IS NOT A BUG AND HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ROM. FORMAT (NOT WIPE) YOUR DATA PARTITION AND TRY AGAIN.
Please only report bugs in the following format:

Just want to say thank you for this. Been running great since I installed last night.
Only thing I'm not liking, and it's not your fault, it's an upstream thing is Camera quality. I definitely notice that the quality of the pics on RR are degraded from stock sense. (Yes I've tried multiple cameras) Again just a nitpicky thing. Other than this this is my new DD.

Thanks for the feedback man. Yeah, LOS based for almost all devices are going to be that way with the cameras unfortunately. I am trying to find a fix for this but no luck so far.

If you find a solution you'll be a god...Without knowing much it's gotta be a driver someplace, but that's as far as my understanding of Android and the components go. If we were on a Windows machine talking about tweaking it out, I'd have some better ideas.

Yup I saw that. Though I'm sure he has a list of changes that he's working on. Not sure where the camera in his list of things to address. Don't want to bug him either, all the hard work is appreciated. I'm sure if he has something up his sleeve he'll get to it when appropriate. But hey maybe we'll get lucky and he'll give us a good surprise soon.

@andybones is call recording working for Verizon on latest build? If not, are you using AOSP or Google dialer?

Hey man, unfortunately not working on 3/02 build. I use the Google Dialer. I flashed the open open stock.zip.
Here is what I see. (the DND icon next to alarm pops up instead of VoLTE)
I got the same as andybones, tabp0le.

Been using open camer. Still not he same. Pictures tend to be grainy due to high ISO values it's using because of camera issues.
When you change the battery icon to "hidden", the icon disappears as expected, but the space for it remains.

Since you guys are using Google dialer the recording isn't working. I should put a notice in OP only AOSP dialer works with call recording.

Hi @tabp0le
Thanks a lot for finally making a thread for this ROM. Best AOSP experience on this phone. I had a small request though. I hope you don't mind. The spacing of the network traffic monitor is a bit larger than the other icons. Could that be made more uniform? Thanks! Also does OTA work?
Oh yeah work for you fine.

No small framework things like that are up to the RR devs. I build as they create it, but add stuff. No OTA as of now.

Some of you may know me at S4 forums. As promised, I will support S4 for yet another year and bring up the Android Pie.
So here we are. In this thread I will give you a small bite of S4 pie.
Some of you may have some questions.... So lets get it started.
Before first boot
1) Is that AOSP ? Is that LineageOS ? What is it?
- This is 99% pure AOSP sources with some LineageOS additions under the hood in order to allow our old S4 boot the Pie.
2) Is that an Alpha-beta-gamma-etc version of Optimized LineageOS 16.0?
- Maybe... But actually no... However it will surely be the base for my OptLos16.0 releases.
3) What to expect from it?
- NOTHING. ITS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR DAILY USAGE.
IT'S JUST A PREVIEW
... A SMALL BITE FROM THE ANDROID 9 PIE.
4) Whats working?
- It boots and charges. Nothing else is working. NOTHING. The only thing you can do is explore the UI, move around and such. It's just a sneak peak.
5) Whats NOT working ?
- EVERYTHING. Camera, GPS, nfc, wifi, vibration....
NOTHING WORKS.
6) Can i report bugs ?
- Hell no. There is no reason to report bugs. I know what's NOT working so I can fix it when I have time. Repeat with me...
IT'S ONLY A PREVIEW.
7) Why did you release this, you attention whore?
- S4 is dying from one day to next. Users are kicking out their devices....Give me ONE reason to NOT release a preview... There are only a few of us left who still use S4. I want to provide all the fresh stuff I can.
I promised(https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77404240&postcount=1690) and I delivered.
8) "If JDCTeam were still active they would not let you release in such early stage"
- I know. Sorry guys. Our S4 is dying. I don't listen to "rules" when its a need.
9) Will it ever be stable?
- Yes. That's a promise.
10) So how do i install it?
- I used the latest official TWRP and simply wiped & flashed the zip. No special technique or circus.
After first boot
1) It's laggy. WTF mate?
- Of course it is. And its not Pie's fault. There is much stuff missing inside. Do not expect anything.
2) I pressed power button and it doesn't wake up
- Yes. That's what happens to old devices. Same happened to Oreo when it was first released. I will fix it soon. Relax people. Patience. Please remove and re-insert your battery again. Set the screen time-out long so you don't encounter it.
For now DO NOT LOCK / SLEEP YOUR DEVICE.
3) I had random reboot / freeze / SystemUI crash
- Yes. That's normal. Although it didn't happen to me.
4) I cant find the recents menu
- Neither did I. Since ADB is disabled for now i cant debug it. Could be launcher. Try Nova. Patience.... the best will come soon.
In conclusion
I would like to thank:
Every Optimized Lineage / CM user that is / was active at forums and pumped me up to bring Pie to S4.
Every OptLosOreo Slack member that helped me in his own way.
Every code stealer. I want you around guys.
Specially:
