I just loaded the 5.0 Lollipop update onto my Nexus 7. I'm trying to figure out if it's using Art or Dalvik by default. If it's using Dalvik, how would I switch it to Art? It's running pretty smooth right now, so I may just leave it alone. If it's not broke, don't fix it, right? Thanks!
Android 5.0 runs on ART by default.

Android 5 runs purely and only on ART..
Dalvik has been put to rest.. Shame, it had great promise..
Thanks for the info! I wasn't aware that Lollipop was Art only. That would explain why I couldn't find a setting or way to switch between that and Dalvik.

Hmm sounds like they removed the smooth scrolling cache tweak. You could try supercharging it. Or you could jump ship to Aokp31.. its basically the same deal as cm9b2 just more features. Its on the same framework 4.0.4... and it runs slick.. it has the option to force enable the smooth scrolling and it works like a charm. Sorry if suggesting another ROM isnt an option..
Yes I would prefer to stay on this one... this rom you mentioned is still on alpha right? I think i might try cleaning the cache in cwm not sure if that might help..

Aokp... its really on par with cm9 beta. They are very similar and just as stable. Aokp just has extra features.. that come with the ROM control. And no wiping cache in cwm is not what I ment. Scrolling cache is a different cache entirely .

If I decide to try this rom you mentioned... can I just install on top of CM9, do I need extra steps?

If you would like you could just wipe cache and dalvik and flash right over it. However i suggest you wipe everything.. now that the play store restores your apps you've installed with it automatically thats the best option. I used to be really hesitant to do fresh installs.. but since the play store remembers what've previously installed and does it upon restore your google account its much easier and less room for error .
Interesting. I am actually having the same issue. It was not a problem on beta 1 but beta 2 for some reason is just awful for me. I may have to jump to AOKP. I really liked an earlier build I was using but it had some scrolling problems too. These are all smoothed out with Build 31 then?

I was running paranoid android and this morning my camera wouldn't open. So I cleared data cache and dalvik. I switched to aokp and even stock but nothing. I checked permissions and still nothing. Any ideas?

did you wipe data(factory reset) between switching roms?
Well whatever rom u are running now just redownload it and use root explorer or any kind of file manager and go to the rom that is yours or even dl any rom that is similar to yours.. go to system /app pull camera apk. Then move it to your system/ app it will say camera apk already exists just do it anyways make sure permissions are good.....see if this works for u
Happened to my G1 when the camera physically broke. Probably a hardware issue.
I would do a battery pull and a data wipe before assuming hardware failure.
Can somebody port the really nice App to the Google Nexus 4 it have more functions then the Google Play Music I hate this services it´s so complicated.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2198568
You can try that. It's the s4 music player for the s3. I doubt it work because we aren't running touch wiz

The title of the post should contain the question tag.. It seems like you have ported an SGS3 music player..

Flashed then rebooted: App is there but FC's as soon as you tap on it
Flashed then wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, fix permissions: Same thing
Really would be cool if someone made a universal version for every Android. Google Play Music is only based off of internet so that was disabled

Is the App don´t working at the Device?
Of course it wont run. You need the Samsung touchwiz framework.
I am amazed at the amount of people who have the best android experience but want to ruin it with touchwiz.

Could anyone tell me if i can enable ART on cm11 nightlys? When i tried to do it it warned that cm11 doesnt support it. But some googling showed me that there are a couple of gapps packages available, one for and one without ART etc.
Does the cm11 on gpad support art or should i stick with dav?

So long as you use ART compatible gapps you should be fine. I have tried it whilst testing stock dalvik v art v optimised dalvik and bionic.
I had no issues with ART, though admittedly I wasn't on it for long, and it benched higher than stock dalvik (I know, I know, but you have to have some form of measurement), but optimised dalvik and bionic are still the best option for me atm.

As long as you install CM with gapps the right way, you're fine. Keep in mind though that this is a developer feature. Small point it is not designed for in app performance improvements, bit instead loading performance Improvements.

how did you do that anyways? i'm using 4.4.2 touchwiz and there is no such option under the developer settings. afaik samsung is blocking ART in their current roms.
btw, are you using xposed? cause ART doesn't work with that, at least in AOSP roms.

i dont think that the system allows the libart.so to run correctly therfore forcing it to run libdvm.so
samsung removed it for some dumb reason -_-
Few apps are not compatible with ART. The most important for me is Xposed Framework, so I decided to not use ART libraries.
Remember to do full backup before enable the option
Can you please tell what rom are you using. Would love to try art on touchwiz
You can't swith to art on touch wiz based roms even if there is such option. I'm using android revolution hd and i don't have such option at all.
Maybe the E-Team can enable ART in DN4?
I think if enough users request it they will do it
The problem is none of samsung apps support art.
