how did you do that anyways? i'm using 4.4.2 touchwiz and there is no such option under the developer settings. afaik samsung is blocking ART in their current roms.
btw, are you using xposed? cause ART doesn't work with that, at least in AOSP roms.

i dont think that the system allows the libart.so to run correctly therfore forcing it to run libdvm.so
samsung removed it for some dumb reason -_-
Few apps are not compatible with ART. The most important for me is Xposed Framework, so I decided to not use ART libraries.
Remember to do full backup before enable the option
Can you please tell what rom are you using. Would love to try art on touchwiz
You can't swith to art on touch wiz based roms even if there is such option. I'm using android revolution hd and i don't have such option at all.
Maybe the E-Team can enable ART in DN4?
I think if enough users request it they will do it
The problem is none of samsung apps support art.

I believe ART compiles the app on install. Might need to re-install the app(s) you want to run. Then again, this is just speculation, I have not tested anything myself.
Edit: And deodexed gapps won't work too, if I'm not mistaken. Need odexed stuff if you're on CM/PA. Don't forget it's in developer options for a reason, it's not ready for prime time but rather as testing for devs.
I just flashed the Infamous GE 4.4.2 Rom on my tmo S4 and keep getting this error message when my phone boots:
"Unfortunately SAPedometerSettingProvider has stopped"
I'm also unable to install the Samsung App Store app or get notifications on my watch.
I also got an error message about this app that is not found or can't run:
com.samsung.android.notiprovider..... (don't remember the rest, but looks like the notification service)
I'm guessing that i'm missing some samsung bloatware but not sure.
Can anyone help me troubleshoot this?
Would returning to the stock firmware possibly fix this?
Some custom roms like Wicked 10 support using galaxy gear. I'd flash one of those if I had galaxy gear.

I just read the thread and they say it syncs with the phone (which the infamouse GE kitkat ROM also does) but some of the apps i want like svoice and notifications don't work and won't work because of the framework.
so i guess the best option to get everything working is the stock ROM?
Anyone know how to fix this on the custom roms?

Looking for a ROM close to stock no bloatware with tethering and call recording.
Any recommendations? Im not looking for fancy art and blue font. I've downloaded a few already that suck.
Just got my note 3 today. Would like to root and install a ROM just as you mentioned. Stock with working tether and ability to delete the bloat I dont want.

Why not use stock rooted and customize it with xposed? Tethering has a workaround on this forum that seems to work for many people and using xposed with wanam you can enable call recording. Use titanium backup to freeze any apps you don't want.

Flash any rom in recovery and then flash this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=50177141
afterwards to get rid of 600+MB of bloatware, the option is yours on what you want to remove.

Cool thanks +3, would also like to upgrade to 4.4.2 or 4.4.3.
xposed seems to crash my system every time I try to install it.
Id hold off on flashing non tmobile 4.4.2 til an official release, else youll be stuck on that bootloader for awhile. Im thinking we should see an official release of 4.4.2 soon..

This is not true, I have Vision 4.4.2 built and working, and you can roll back to 4.3 no problem....and when this so called official release does hit, that would be the one that will lock you into 4.4.2, until a dev gets ahold of it and does their thing. Be careful....
You do NOT want to do an upgrade over the phone, that is a sure way to get stuck on 4.4.2.......

WiFi tether router by Fabio. Search on the play store, costs 2 bucks or so and totally worth it. Follow his directions on his page, there's a link from the play store.

Wicked V5 and chose the stock theme in Aroma..... you don't have to activate X posed or Wanam if you don't want to. I think it's as close to debloated/stock and stable you can get. Everything works fine for me. No crashes/no FC's nothing. Wifi calling/tethering. ..... and then you can flash DD Blacked out stock theme and it's just Tits.......
Telus HTC one m8, unlocked bootloader, stock ROM, elementalX kernel (tried stock recovery and philzs recovery)
Can't seem to enable ART runtime... I don't know If stock kernel or recovery matters but when I try enabling it the phone reboots like normal and in settings it still says dalvik.
Any ideas?
If you have Xposed installed art will not work.
Oh really? I did not know that... That's too bad...
Thanks for the quick reply!

I'm using ART now. It works fine for me and improves battery life as well as performance. Programs that don't work, I just uninstall and find an alternative that works. None of my essential or favourite programs are affected by it and work fine with ART. A few games don't work but they aren't important enough for me to keep. If any essential program didn't work I would revert back but so far all my essential programs are working fine, surprisingly.

beat me to the punch. can you elaborate a bit on the g pro's performance with this? I already installed the app and enabled the screen mirroring, but I'm not home so i can't test it yet.

So it might be an E980 rom issue. Might as well try the E988 rom that's in the forum. Thanks.

For those interested, viperfx causes the Google play services crash while trying to use this. I un installed viper and can now cast the screen with no issues. Im running sphinx v 1.6 for the e980.
It now works on CM11 with MirrorEnable V3.
Still can't get it...
I'm not very proficient at working with a rooted phone as I've only just gotten root access (which took awhile). I'm running a stock ATT kitkat (did I say that right?) and cannot get the cast option in my Chromecast. I've done the following:
Installed SQLite;
Installed the most recent version of Chromecast;
Installed the most recent version of the mirror enabler (v5), and enabled mirroring;
Rebooted after the install of each.
Don't know what else to try.
Thanks.
Use version 1 or 2
