[Q] indoor signal reception is dreadful, can anything help? - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Everytime I walk into a closed building with other people my G3 is always the first phone to lose data connectivity.
Other times, it shows full HSDPA+ signal, but data il painfully slow as well. I live in a densely populated city where signal should NOT be a problem. I am currently on V10j-global and kernel 3.4.0

Same problem here, my old phone (HTC one) has 4G signal in my apartment, whereas G3 does not, with the same SIM card

No issues here. Reception is the same like on other phones.
Have you tried flashing latest Kitkat firmware?

[Q] Very poor signal

in my room my signal is always gprs or edge, i rarely do get either 3g or hspa, outside of my house, i get 3g and sometimes hspa, but i get only 2 bar of signal, it's really annoying, i don't know is it my phone or my carrier, but i think its my phone
in addition, sometimes my phone can't get an internet connection for no reason, im have an internet data but my phone just won't connect, the signal bar color changes into white
Carrier?
Data plan?
The right apn settings?
Do you have another phone to test?
Can't just point fingers on the phone or your carrier without concrete evidence.
Check the signal using any other phone in the same places to confirm if it is only your GNex suffering this poor signal or every phone around. Maybe the coverage of the 3G Tower is already poor in your place.
If you really confirm that it is your phone after trying what I suggested above, then it worths to mention the radio baseband you are using. You may also like to check this thread for a list of radio basebands
Regarding the white (or is it "grey"?) internet signal, this is related to whether you are connected to Google servers or not as far as I know. If connected then it is blue, otherwise, it is the other color.
Update: Oh guys you were faster than me although I started replying while no one did already

[Q] [I'll love you all forever if you guys help] Extremely odd reception issues.

This is an update to this thread. I am on t-mobile's service on an i747 in a refarmed 1900MHz city. (Boston)
When I touch my phone indoors, and especially in my house, the signal drops down to EDGE or GPRS. As soon as I let go it slowly rises back to 3-4 bars of either 3G UMTS:3 or 4G HSPAP:15. So it's not really that weak of a signal.
I have already replaced the sim card with a new one. I tried an AT&T sim card in my phone and everything worked as expected including LTE. My sim card in an unlocked but otherwise stock SGS3 behaves just as wonky as in my phone.
When i'm on CM 10.1 the switch is in between G/GRPS and 3G/UMTS:3. When i'm on the stock samsung ROM it's between E/EDGE and 4G/HSPAP:15 or HSPA:11.
This. Makes. No. Sense.
Any help would be awesome. Any direction (different forum section, forum, IRC channel, tutorial, guide) would be awesome as well.
Thanks for even reading!
Try updating to the latest T-Mobile baseband.

Signal / Modem !?

Is there a way to boost the signal strength of our LG G3? I live in a city where there are plenty of 4G towers, however most of the time I'm on 2G and I frequently see my device hitting H+ even within the city. I have friends with iPhone / HTC phones on the same provider (Optus) and they all have 4G LTE with full bar strength and hardly see it drop to 3G with low bars. I've contacted my provider and the best they said was to get a new sim card, which I've done multiple times. This is the second LG G3 I've had (I lost my last one) and with the last one I had the same issue.

LTE and 4G (ATT H810) issues

Anyone else on the ATT G4 having problems with LTE connectivity? In areas where I'd usually get 5 bars of LTE service, a majority of the time I get 2 or 3 bars of Edge service. Putting it into airplane mode and back out doesn't help, turning mobile data on and off doesn't help, and neither does removing the SIM card (and reseting the phone in the process). It seems to come and go whenever it wants to.

All I can guess is, it's probably just the ATT network itself. They did some upgrades around here a while once Cspire started hyping their fiber optic network and I noticed on my older phone that in areas where I used to get 3G I was stuck getting edge. Even with my G4 I can park in perfect view of a known ATT tower and it'll hit 4G and within a minute be down to 3G - same with strength. Get 5 bars, don't move, no data, no call, and it'll drop down to no bars but still connected and bounce around, usually settling at 2 or 3. Even though ATT says they have full LTE out here I rarely actually see the LTE logo display in the status bar.
I've been using OpenSignal to try to map out coverage areas though, been pretty handy in finding towers and chasing stronger signal
Hi sir
I m using lg g4 h810 AT&T it was working well one day i put a memory card in it signal disappear never came go to software and hardware experts but nobody has solved my problem all other functions of cell phone working properly

HTC 10 signal issues

Howdy all. I have been experiencing signal strength and drop issue since updating to Nougat. The phone will suddenly lose its LTE connection and stay on 3G until I restart. Areas where i previously had a good signal now show no signal at all. I remember there was an issue which cause modem problems in our devices after an update. I do have TWRP and Magisk root installed on my device. But it does pass safetynet check "if that matters).
So, my signal issues have gotten worse. I can still get LTE, but only at my house and its a weak signal. I have noticed the only LTE signal my 10 picks up is on Band 25. I wonder if the Sprint version is locked to a single band only?
The device seems to get stuck on 3G mode now. In an area with sparse LTE coverage, it will switch to 3G, but not connect to LTE again even if in range. Only a restart fixes that problem.
