[Q] Galaxy Note 4 SM-910C Screen - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 4

Ordered the Galaxy Note 4 SM-910C on Friday and bought overnight delivery because I am like a bad kid at Christmas when it comes to getting a new gadget. Purchased a case hoping it arrives today also. While i waited for delivery I did some reading. I didn't realize that there were different models, just purchased from MSRP (I think that is the name) on eBay. Bought several phones from her in the past and I trust her. She had 2 models. The other one said ''No LTE'' so I went with the SM-910C which was about $50 more.
Any way ,I read on a few sites that the 910C was going to have a curved screen. Is that correct? and if that will make a difference when buying a case?
Even though I buy way too many gadgets I am not knowledgeable enough to understand the other differences such as the diff between Exynos and Snap Dragon. Wondered of rooting is the same for both ... even wonder why or if I would want to root this phone ..
OK ...finished rambling ... My Fed Ex always delivers LATE in the day ... I will be pacing and looking out the window for the next 5-8 hours.
diane

As far as i know, the only difference is that the 910C has the eight-core Exynos 5433 CPU and the 910S has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 CPU. The phone itself should look the same so the cases your ordered should be fine.

Note batteries in the US

so far all I can find is non us sellers, which means a long wait time til delivery. Anyone know of any us sellers of note batteries ?
Umm, You do remember...
Dude, you do remember these aren't available in the United States and won't be for some time right? That's why you, me, - hell everybody - had to buy imports in the first place. That is unless you live across the pond somewhere.
Right now Expansys - U.S. has them available for pre-order for $36.99 or so. That's the absolute cheapest I've seen an 2,500 Whr OEM battery anywhere!
I pre-ordered 1 hoping Samsung will eventually release the NFC chip-enabled batteries for the Note since it' s supposed to be a U.S. only option for the time being. Although I usually keep 3 batteries on hand I won't be doing that with these puppies. I rotate them every 2 weeks to keep each battery fresh and so they receive roughly the same amount of use and shelf life.
I'm sticking with 2 standard OEM batteries in case they do make the NFC Batteries available to us in the Unites States. I don't feel like stuck with extras when the GT-N7000' successor is released which I'm sure is already in the pipeline - much in the same way Asus had done with the Transformer line.
While Samsung knew they had a winner in the Galaxy Note I don't think they anticipated this big of a success we knuckleheads provided them. Especially with us throwing down the amount of $$$ we did amidst these hard times just for the privilege to own one.
But the greatest surprise is we're not bound to a friggin' 2 year contract and we'll be able to buy a Quad, a Quin, or more - Core SuperPhone sooner than we would've been able to do before!
There's at least one US seller on Ebay selling aftermarket batteries for the Note. There are a ton based in Hong Kong with prices averaging ~$5 per battery after shipping, but like you said, it takes 2 or 3 weeks for delivery usually. Use the tools on the left side of the screen to narrow the search results down to US sellers only. It'll cost a little more, but still dirt cheap compared to an OEM battery, and like I said, there's at least 1 US seller, as I recently received mine from them.
The cheapo copies claim 2600 mAH, 100 more than OEM, but I'd say they're roughly the same capacity, maybe a little less. I guesstimated the capacity of mine to be 70%-80% that of my OEM battery, but that was on the first charge/discharge cycle. Still some seriously good value.

What does the note not being officially released in the US have to do with any US store having Chinese batteries for the note?
I suppose the same thing that did UK vendors buying weeks ago batteries from Chinese manufacturers and selling from the UK so the shipping being shorter is being done by US vendors.

How much the device will cost?

How much do you think this device will cost for public? Without contract for sure

My bet is 550€ (and 550 dollars in the US ) for 16GB WiFi version at launch. I hope I am wrong, because I am buying it for sure as long as the price does not get any higher
So say we all!! from my GT-I9500

thx for your input but oh please, I don't know if you're samsung fan or not but I really need your humble and honest opinion about samsung product and the hardware itself, nowadays samsung has been chosen by people and lot's of people using samsung product, and do you think samsung with touchwiz itself and also from the hardware point of view will last longer and my friend they're not samsung hater but they used to repair samsung product and they told me samsung after a year usually will show any problem or issue for the hardware itself ?
but this is not my statement ok ? I'm just sharing my thought with you guys, for those who are expert in this point of view please I will be very welcome to correct my thought. Cause I'm thinking about getting nexus 7 2013 edition or note 10.1 2014 edition, but honestly the 10.1 is too big but the 3gb ram, OMG, that's so tempting hard to resist , I rather choose 10.1 with that price than the same price or the note 3 which is more expensive than note 10.1
I have a crazy idea!
If we wait until they actually tell us, instead of speculating and asking the public what they think, we'll be able to make better decisions and have less anxiety while waiting.

I would love to help you, but help yourself first: ask a better question

IMHO Samsung's hardware is not worse than the one from any other brand, and regarding software they usually give reasonable support over time, not always fast enough though, especially for older devices, but better than any other phone maker anyway.
I personally dislike touchwiz, but no other tablet or phone offers to me such a powerful environment for working with a digital pen
So say we all!! from my GT-I9500
I'm hoping for the 32GB version to be no more than $549
If you wait 6 months maybe. The first prices are 599€ for wifi and 699€ for LTE. All versions are 16GB. But not official yet. But i think they are realistic. If you look at the Galaxy Note 8.0. It was/is extensive too.

well if you're talking a device with pen, I couldn't be more agree with you and yes it is powerful galaxy note with a pen but that's the thing that I have is, do you think by filling all kind of content into device till the device only has 2gb room left from the available capacity do you think is that device will have lagging issue or something like that ?
http://www.fonearena.com/blog/80899/samsung-galaxy-note-10-1-2014-edition-hands-on.html Just read this, the final paragraph is worrying, "The Galaxy Note 3 was just launched in India for Rs49,900 and the pricing of Galaxy Note 10.1 is expected to be slightly higher than the Note 3. "
The note 3, at least from T-mobile, will cost 700 dollars. If it's slightly above that then screw that...

You have to balance currency values, exchange rates, import taxes, etc. What it sells for in India even with exchange rates is now a reflection of what its going to cost in the US. I mean what did Verizon do they bumped the price of the GN3 up $50 over the GN2, why double the internal storage which is in line with normal pricing. The newer model has other spec bumps on the GN2 vs GN3 so again it falls in line.
I expect it to be $549-599 for the 32GB WiFi version anything above that and its simply not worth it no matter how nice it is.

I used to live in Korea and I can promise you that it will be more expensive there, even on g-market. Electronics are really expensive there.
Guys you may check possibility pricing NOTE 10.1 2014 EDITION; 4G LTE $950 and Wi-Fi $750.

Those are imports from overseas hence the higher price point. They will be a hundreds less when they go on sale here.
plus those are PRE-ORDER prices
I'm pretty sure 16gig wifi will not be more than $550, and 32gig wifi less than $600....we'll see in a few weeks
Android Central is saying Oct. 10 release date with preorders starting at midnight Eastern time on Sept. 27.
Price is set at $549.99 for the Wifi-only Note 10.1 with 16 gigabytes of storage, and $599.99 if you want 32 gigabytes. It'll be available in either Jet Black or Classic White.
Retailers will include Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile, BestBuy.com, Amazon, PC Richard's, Fry's, Tiger Direct, Walmart and Samsung.com.

[Q] After the launch of note 3...note 2 price

I wanted to buy the note for some time, but i was disappointed in the sprint launch of note 3 so i wanted to know if the price will drop for the note 2 when the note 3 comes out. Right now i see a price of $249.99 for upgrade but how much lower will it drop or will it even drop the price?
jd14771 said:
it could drop to 200$,but most likely, they will discontinue selling the note 2.

You could always buy mine for 350. Comes with 3 zero lemon batteries, 1standard case for the regular battery, a thin case and a screen protector. Only flaw is a crack that runs from left to right. Its a perfect line.

naw its ok thanks for the offer though but ill consider it if they actually discontinue selling it
but its ok if i use my upgrade... i can use my other lines upgrade next year for note 4 =)
Price on note 3 vs note 2
So yesterday I went to Best buy to pre-order the galaxy gear, and none of the ppl there knew what what the galaxy gear. So I continued looking around the Samsung kiosk that they have setup in store... mean while geeks search and educate them self's over the Galaxy Gear. I could help notice that the galaxy note 2 still have a price tag of 800 US dls... while the note 3 is being release for the same price. unless you are upgrading.. AT&T and Verizon is only 250, Sprint has their's for 350.
i see... thanks for the observation.. i see on amazon that sprint note 2 is on sale for 149.99 for upgrade you think i should take or not.. i never bought a phone fro mthere before
It's probably going to drop to $99.00 cause I have seen it as low as $149 depending on where you look. Radio Shack and Amazon are usually cheapest. Once the Note 3 drops it could even go as low as $49.99. GSIII's are free at Sprint right now.
When upgraded devices come out the price on the old hardware always drops while it is still carried. That just depends on what direction you want to go with your purchase. You can get the newest device or buy the Note 2 which in my mind is still new. I would review the device specs closely and decide which device will fit your needs.
Sprint has been having deals on the phones when they release. S4 had a bogo so who knows what they will do when it comes out. I'm with you I want the note 3 but I don't want to pay 350 for it. I've been debating on getting the nexus 5 or note 2.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus
thanks for the reply people. i ordered my note 2 on amazon for 149.99 i know that it may go down to 99.99 or cheaper when note 3 comes out but i cant wait for it. im using a busted up blackberry 9630 and it has really bad problems even with texting and phone calls loll ive played around with the note 2 on my cousins phones and i know how the developements are. if only note 3 was triband and a 300 price tag i would buy it but right now none of the options came up. so ill stick with my note 2 when it comes so i can put the cleanrom ace with perseus kernel that is truly amazing. its coming on tuesday and i ordered it last night! this will be a good enough phone till the note 4 comes out and which i can use my other line's upgrade next year for it and give the other person the note 2 =)
I was contemplating getting the Note 3 but I think I am over the big screen for now. I will probably return at some point but the N3 didn't have enough wow factor for me. I am actually looking to trade my Note 2 for a Moto X lol.
Anyone interested

[Q] Think the price will decrease right after the s2 is released?

Looks like the second gen will officially be smaller with a different aspect ratio.
http://www.ibtimes.com/check-out-leaked-samsung-galaxy-tab-s2-cases-1945993
I've been needing to get a tablet and want the current gen tab s but don't want to see that I could have been 100$ richer by waiting a week. Alternatively I haven't talked to anyone who is happy with Samsungs continued Apple emulations.... Does the collective wisdom here think we'll see an instant price drop for the current gen or do you think merchants will try to wait out the change?

I think it most definitely will. The tablet has already been featured in some sales that put the price at around $270 I think. That's a steal considering how good the tablet is
Two weeks ago I paid $270 for my S 8.4. I'm sure it'll hit $230-250 by the end of the summer. August and September are back-to-school shopping months, so manufacturers like to release the newest computer/laptop and tablets then. Which means clearance of last year's model in the weeks/months before.
I'm waiting for the S2 to come out too..
I'm waiting to buy Tab S 8.4 LTE version when price is cut off.
I bought a Tab S 10.5 a month ago because of the change in aspect ratio. At that time there was a sale on for $70 off MSRP so I grabbed it. My suggestion would be to decide on a discount number and regularly check local prices for discounts. The sale was at Staples Canada and ended April 12th. You could use one of those computer best price checking web sites relevant for your country.

I too have been waiting, seeing the Tab S priced at $100 under "MSRP" all over the place (meaning it was $299 or even less), but hoping with my greedy heart that it would come down even further after the S2 was announced.
Image my surprise when a 2 days after the S2 announcement I couldn't find a single seller offering the Tab S for under $350, and most had jacked the price back up to retail.
Even now the "official" Samsung listing for the Tab S on Amazon is $379! WTF?
Anybody else find Amazons search a waste of space, as it gives you the wrong results, even when it gets it right, you cannot arrange from low to high like every other shopping site.
Is this just me.
John.

General Anyone going to get the zfold4 after the 3?

Considering most models can't be rooted I'm not a 100% sold on another fold BUT there might not be any good alternatives though.
I might go back to OnePlus if I can get it unlocked at the beginning for custom roms, but I'd rather enjoy a device more than work on it. I have some hopes for the nothing brand but I'm not sure they're ever coming to North America.
I'd appreciate some good discussion about it and others thoughts.
Yes, I'll be looking closely at the Fold4 and if there's a reasonable tradein I'll very likely go for it.
The only alternative is the Vivo that has a great spec but not yet available outside China and will it have good support?
No. There isn't enough of an upgrade for me to bite the bullet. I'll wait to see what the Fold 5 has to offer or if there are other mfg. that come up with something better.
nahh im happy with my fold 3, does what I need and more. Fold 4 has little upgrades to make it worth it
Sammy is just not being competative. If I were to upgrade, I would be more likely to spend the $ on the Vivo X Fold. Unless Sammy has some huge surprises in 10 days - which I doubt.
Going to wait until the 5 cones out.
It would be a help if we knew when the Vivo Fold was going to be available.
If the trade in is good
Just ordered the X Fold, through Giztop.
.......so the device works in the U.S.A.?
I'm in the UK. Taking a risk but I know of another one that is working.
yeah, upgrading from Fold3 to the Fold4 1TB version
I'll be ordering the Fold4 the minute orders are open. Jury is out on Watch 5 classic 44mm though.
Just got my fold 3 on a RIDICULOUS sale, doesn't appear the generational gap between 3 and 4 is all that large. I'll be rocking the three until they announce/release the 5

I got mine for what I feel like was a great price early this year. Mint condition on Swappa (and the phone really was in mint condition) for 800+plus taxes and fees

That was a steal! I'm happy for you!
Ill upgrade if the cameras are vastly improved and include periscope zoom of some sort, that's my biggest gripe with my fold 3, sub par cameras. 1tb would be a nice since im running out of storage on my 512gb fold 3 so if they offer that i may do the upgrade for that even if the cameras arent what im looking for.
Yes, I had the first 3 and haven't had any issues. Hoping for a surprise pre-order only color, but the beige looks kind of cool.
Does anyone else think it is uneconomical to upgrade after a year, without fully paying off the Fold3?
