[Q] SG2 Corrupt PIT file JODIN3 - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

So, I've been trying to get my Epic 4G Touch back on it's feet. It crashed about a year ago and I have finally had the time to look into it (running a Nexus 5 with Lollipop, currently). I'm able to get the GS2 into download (ODIN) mode as well as the reboot screen.
I've downloaded JODIN3 (I'm on Ubuntu) and have retrieved the PIT file from my phone. JODIN3 tells me that this file is corrupt and I can't proceed. I've found other PIT files and tried those with the same result.
I tried working around this, setting my phone into the reboot screen and choosing to load an update from the SD card. I downloaded the SPH-D710 Zedomax Kernel and tried loading that. No luck there either.
Basically, my phone, when booting, goes into the Sprint 4G screen and freezes. I can see it on my computer when connected to USB, so I'm pretty sure that I can bring it back to life. I'm just new. Any tips?

Also, I've tried a couple of different ROM's loaded onto a microSD card. Like I said, I can get to the manual screen (Volume Up/Power), but when I try to load the ROM file from the microSD card, the phone reboots and gets stuck at the 4G load screen. I'm not sure how to get around this problem.

Flash failed, stuck in bootrom.

I was updating my firmware when it stopped at 10 percent and rebooted the phone. Now i am stuck with the colored screen. I formatted my memory card and put the file on it and renamed it to what it told me to do online and it keeps saying file not found. I can't seem to flash it via usb. Keeps telling me no connection. How can i fix this?

What does it say in the bootloader?
You should be able to reflash your Stock ROM to get working.
Dave
same
same to me. i still can flash and update. USB and sd. but only things that works is bootloader. even can make a hardreset.
Yea, this is why im worried about flashing my phone lol
reset your phone then go to activesync in your phone make sure it set on auto so it will automactically detect the phone when it flash that should fix your problem

Big time unrooting problems

Hi, Last night i rooted the phone, partitioned the sd card, installed radio .08 and so on.
Rom were working fine but i just wanted unroot cuz of the warranty issue. Heres to the problem. When i connect the phone it all looks fine. The computer finds it and i can mount the sd card and so on. But when i try to boot with the official ruu it just loses the connection to the computer and stops with the "black" "htc" logo on the screen.
Here's what i've tried: Reformated my SD card with fat32, nandroid back to stock rom (the one you get directly after rooting) and i've tried degrading my radio image to the one .04. have also reinstalled htc sync twice and get same problem...is the phone bricked in any way? im pretty noobish at this so it was foolish of me to try it on my own i know.
I can still flash roms i looks like, just not go back to unrooted
I've done the unrooting process before and it worked like a charm. why not now?
the ROm was Leedroid 1.4 if it helps
Pop onto the #modaco irc channel on chat.freenote.net
This sounds sortable.
Sounds like its just a matter of flashing the stock rom directly from the SD card....Feel free to pm me whilst in the channel
Have you try to boot your phone into Hboot/Fastboot before you execute the RUU?
After you have run the RUU file and it asks you to connect the phone, go to your windows temp folder (start->run->%temp%)
Sort folders by date and open the most recent, inside there you will see a file called rom.zip (about 120 megs) copy that to your SD card and rename it to PB99IMG.zip.
Turn the phone off and reboot holding the vol down key, enter recovery and it should scan the SD card and offer to flash the PB99IMG.zip.
Job done!!
This will also downgrade the radio images, so beware it takes a couple of boots.
I unrooted today and had the same problem, its a simple solution. When you run it the first time it gets stuck on the black screen, dont do anything with the phone, leave it connected, exit the ruu, then run it again and it'll work
I had something like this too. Just close flashing software in windows when it says connection error, unplug usb, plug it back and start firmware flash in windows again.
edit:i was too late.. lol
edit edit: i did unplug, but looks like its not needed
My solution is more elegant though

[Q] PLEASE HELP! odin flop, sw tool flop!

so I was flashing back to D18, then going to update to ec05
I used odin but it froze at factory..rfs
and screen went blueish
so i bat pulled, and restarted, computer, bat pulled again
pink screen stopped at bin
tried eb13
same
tried sw tool, froze after 9 seconds, pink screen
so i tried to boot into recovery and of course now it's sprints, but interestingly enough i tried to update.zip and it says
"E;Can't mount dev/block/vold/179:1
(no such file or directory)
E;Can't mount SDCARD:update.zip"
what do i do, can't boot phone it freezes at the samsung logo, can only get into sprint recovery and download mode, but odin and tool don't work...am I screwed?
I've never had this trouble before with the moment, epic or intercept or even the G-tablet and for the first time I'm worried...yike!
UPDATE:
so i don't know which but for kicks and giggles, I poped the sdcard back in and ejected it (properly instead of poping it out)
and switched to my other computer (both 64bit)
and it worked....good grief, was that just an error glitch because the sdcard wouldn't mount?
Well at least you got it working. Format that sd card. Sounds corrupted

N7105 - SDCard Mode and ODIN

Hi I managed to to get to SDCARD Download mode from a dead boot N7105 using the SD Boot Repair SD. Odin recognizes this and phone was previously on 4.3 JellyBean already. Now when I'm trying to flash with Odin 3.09 , it says "There is no PIT partition" . Should I click the Phone Bootloader Update checkbox also? Need some advice from all the gurus here to guide me along this, thank you very much
Hi guys,
I have a very similar scenario but with an Samsung Galaxy S3 i9300:
Couple of days ago my phone went into booting loop but after removing the battery for a couple of minutes the issue was solved.
Then 3 days later it restart out of the sudden and was stuck on the Samsung Galaxy S III splash screen.
I rebooted and tried putting the phone in Download mode. The phone went into the Samsung Galaxy S III screen twice and turn off not to boot again. Seems like a hard bricked, no response with any buttons combinations.
I read other posts here saying that I could probably boot the phone with an micro sd card. So I donwloaded image I9300UBUGML1_I9300UWHUGMK1_I9300UBUGMK1_HOME from SamMobile and mouted in a 16 Gb type 10 micro SD (my phone is also 16 Gb version)
At first I tried booting the phone pressing the power button for about 10 seconds and the screen ligthted up very quickly (less than a second) saying
SDCARD MODE
UP KEY: NORMAL BOOTING
DOWN KEY: DOWNLOAD MODE
But it was so quick that I was not able to press anything.
A day later I figure out that if I was quick enough I could press down key and put the phone on Download mode (SDCARD)
After putting the phone on Download mode I connected the phone to the PC and tried flashing it with ODIN v3.07
Odin is able to see the device but when trying to flash the phone (selecting PDA and the image mention before) a message came up saying:
There is no PIT partition
And failed.
Reading about this error in this forum, I have tried using different PIT files to re-partion the phone but no success so far.
GT-I9300_mx_20120220.pit
GT-I9300_mx_20120322.pit
GT-I9300_mx_20120329.pit
mx.pit
Odin stays on Get PIT for mapping after initializing the process.
I would like to know if anyone here have an idea on what else to try (before talking about JTAG reparing the phone as I am not 100% the phone is hard bricked)
I have not attempted to use a USB Jig yet, should I?
Other details:
I am not able to get the download with any other image file in the sd card.
If the phone is on download mode and connected to the PC, the battery can be removed and the phone stays on.
If I press up key in the SD CARD Mode the phone freezes.
Do you guys have any ideas here?
Thanks,

Custom ROM will not boot, can't use TWRP, can't use fastboot, can't use Jodin, ARGH!!

Hey all,
My S4 Mini LTE got a bit water damaged. Was booting up fine for a while, but now is not getting past the splash screen (using Ressurection remix v. 6.0), just keeps splashing on and on, and I can't seem to successfully connect to my Mac to fix it.
TWRP is acting weird: not letting me wipe caches ('unable to mount storage') not showing any internal storage (0mb), only showing SD card at 15mb, and some buttons like reboot option are just freezing. It seems to be able to format (with some errors), but then acts the same way after.
On my Mac Fastboot is not showing any devices.
Similarly, I can't get OS X to recognize the phone with android file transfer.
The only thing that seems to recognize it is connected is Jodin, but it gives an error when trying to obtain my PIT!
edit: Heimdall ALMOST seemed to let me flash the kernel and recovery, but then gave some error right at the end.
Might be new motherboard time?!?!
Please help!
Motherboard change is easy
Yeah just replaced it... now power seems to turn off randomly in my pocket and mouthpiece doesnt work... eh probably just buy new phone
