[Q] Flashing stock rom !!!!

Can i flash my sgg with stock rom of any region ??! if so what are the problems and which region rom is highly stable ??

You can flash with any region, it won't create any problem, but its highly advised to stay on your Home ROM.

Help for flashing an OTA zip file

Hi
Im new to this forum and i flashed my first custom ROM yesterday ... Im happy with the ROM. Actually the developer has given a new OTA zip file for flashing ... He requested to update to new version of ROM using OTA zip. But i dont know how to flash a OTA zip file to my micromax canvas 4 A210 ... Please someone help me how to flash ...

Just place the ota zip file into u r memory card.... Goto cwm recovery then update zip option....

it can be possible tha OTA file you are flashing might be corrupt
try asking on the ROM forum itself or tell us the name ROM NAME OR DEELOPER NAME

Im using pranjal's canvas 4 ROM ... I flashed the ver 1.1 of his ROM using SP Tools ... Im interested to upgrade to ver 3 ... But when trying to flash OTA zip file in CWM from my internal SD it says 'installation aborted'... Please help me yogesh ...

Hi actually pranjal released an OTA update which allows user to directly update to ver 3 from any prev versions ...

From his page i followed all the steps
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED PROCEDURE FOR ENSURING SPEED AND PERFORMANCE!!
CAN BE FLASHED DIRECTLY OVER ANY ROM!
1. Backup your device data. Turn off your device.
2. Download Pranjal's ROM v1.1 and SP Tools.
3. Extract both the files in separate folders.
4. Run "Flash_tool.exe"
5. Click "Scatter-loading" and select the "MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc.txt".
6. Click "Download"
7. While your device is turned off, connect it via USB and SP tools will download the rom to your Canvas 4.
8. Wait for a green circle, after which turn on your device and format via settings.
9. Run "xposed installer" and click "framework" > "Install" > "ok" > "back" > "modules" > check gravity box and xuimod > reboot
10. ENJOY
11. Post your feedback!
12. FLASH THIS TOO AND RECEIVE ALL FUTURE UPDATES VIA OTA
And when i click on the 12th step it goes to a link and i downloaded the zip file with File size: 271.7 KB
Uploaded: 2014-03-24 05:14:52 ...

No need just download manual updates flushable zips... Place them in card and flash it

just simply go to the second post by pranjal where he allows you to update directly to v3 fom any versions before ,and yes his ROMS are not flashable via CWM properly use sp flash tools only

in your app drawer there must be an app saying OTA tap on that and try for an upgrade while your wifi or data is on
if it upgrades it is good if it does not
then here is sp tools procedure

I went through the link given by you ... I would lik to know where i should place the OTG zip or what i should select ... Where to get scatter file and also how to get this OTA updated using SP tool ... Very much confused ... Please help

hi!
1. i think you have installed pranjals rom v1.1 with stock recovery. Please tell me the color of the text when you boot up in recovery. Is it blue or orange?
2. If you have installed with stock recovery, then it is fine, I will provide you with CWM recovery which you can flash via SP tools. It is a small file.

For guys who are new and downloading all the updates step by step after v1.1.
1. Install pranjals rom with cwm recovery and not stock recovery. If you have stock recovery, then I will provide you with the CWM recovery. There is no need to download the full v1.1 again.
2. It is recommended to directly flash v3 direct upgrade file. You can flash it over any version of my rom. It will save a lot of data and time and confusion.
3. While doing this, do not worry about OTA. It will automatically be updated.
4. When you are fully updated, then OTA will show you some error. Do not panic, it is something I did so that the updates will be of less size.
5. If you are not fully upgraded, then OTA will show that an update is available.

the zip file (which you are referring to as OTA zip file) cannot be flashed via SP Tools. It needs to be flashed by CWM recovery.

[Q] Huawei ascend p6 4.4 trouble

Hey all,
I have since June a Huawei Ascend P6 with a Chinese version of Android 4.4, the phone is bought in The Netherlands but upgraded in advance to 4.4 Beta. I want to update this version to a Europe version of the software. The software version is: P6-U06V100R001C17B507, EmotionUI 2.0.
Is this possible and how can I do this?

If you go in general section of the forum for p6 you can find a guide for reverting back to 4.2 (jb) or 4.4 (kk) international vetsions by flashing a small unicom firmware.

Unlock phone
I can't get my Phone to unlock. Can someone give advise or tips?

New problems
Alright I have a new problem :crying:
I have been stupid and careless.
I tried to install the rom but it didn't work, so I tried to unlock my Phone that also didn't work.
So I installed twrp 2.6.3.0 and whiped all files on the Phone.
So now I don't have any OS at all.
How can I install a Rom trough the install function on TWRP and wich rom can I use?
I hope that someone can help me.

Ok so first download this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2765202
Then get an update firmware from internet (I would suggest B125) and put it on your sdcard. Then with the tool, while the phone is connected to pc, install stock jb recovery through fastboot commands (if you don't know how I can help you there too). After a successful flash of the recovery you can boot into it and install the stock firmware which will bring back your P6 to life. If anything doesn't work write here and we'll see where its stuck.

Jb recovery
Could you explain how to install stock jb recovery?
I have downloaded b125 and connected my device.

This is the thread that explains how to switch between custom (twrp 2.6 that you have) and stock recoveries (for jb that you want to go back to). You have all the steps and links for downloading necessary files. If you still have problems write here and I'll see what is there to be done.

I have ported MIUI v7 rom, flashed just fine but STUCK AT BOOT LOGO !

I have ported a MIUI v7 rom for the s4 mini gt-i9195 lte. I was able to flashed it succesfully with TWRP recovery but i am stuck at boot logo If someone know how to fix this, please reply maybe we can have a MIUI v7 rom for our phones.

Which device using ported from?
I ported an old version of this Rom

And it was fine
U need cm11 kernel (not boot.img)and snd_soc_msm_2c file . That's it. It should boot without any problems.

Oh u ported using patchrom. Those file was if u ported from galaxy mega 6.3 mini v7 rom.
You should take a logcat than only any help will rise

no i dont know about patchrom that much. but it is from galaxy mega miui v7 rom. that i ported, yes your rom i see it now. sory for the delay im just awake haha

If u gonna port mega miui v7 rom using first flash Rom then flash kernel then flash snd folder of any stock or cm rom it's in etc folder
If u don't have anykernel zip of cm11 or skimkat
U should extract miui v7 boot.img and replace images of miui with cm11 zimage and pack it (u know this)

Thankyou for the info. I have tryed like you exactly said but no luck still stuck at boot logo :crying: I have also tryed and used CM11 as base but that would also not work. Any ideas, is it the updater script or boot.image thats is causing this

Still No VoLTE for AOKP ROM ?

My VoLTE doesn't work in AOKP ROM ? Is it just me or it's a bug in that rom ?
My stock rom didn't support VolTE either before flashing AOKP. My build is the one on 3rd march.

Did you flashed the latest stock firmware from moto.shreps.fr ? Flash that first then come into aokp ...

I have already flashed AOKP without flashing latest stock firmware . Is there any method to enable VOLTE without flashing that update ? If not , then I shall go to stock rom and then re flash aokp . :crying:
