[Q] Custom rom is getting install when it shows installation completed in CMW

Hello all,
I have been introduce to the xda website through my cousin and i'm no crazy and very happy to get this site as i m getting to learn more new things. i bought Samsung galaxy grand, details for my handset are as follows:
Model No- GT-I9082
Android version 4.1.2
Baseband version - I9082XXAMF1
Kernel version

I rooted my handset using Odin, my handset goes in CMW but whenever i try to flash custom rom which i downloaded DEODEXED I90820XUBMF2 4.2.2 from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2196558
But whenever i try to flash (zip from external sd card-where i saved my custom rom on my sd card) the above mentioned rom in cmw, it shows rom got installed in 2 seconds (is shows installation completed) which in reality it doesn't get installed as i have seen my cousin flashing custom rom on his samsung galaxy grand, it shows all indication of custom rom getting installed through CMW. It goes same if i try to install any other custom roms which i downloaded from XDA links.
Please help me where i'm going wrong why i'm unable to flash custom roms on my handset. someone told me that i might have deleted some partition files on it that's why my custom rom flashing so quickly but not getting install. I read so many positive feedback with a resolution of everyone's problem. i hope respective admins & members will help me to solve my problem too. I really wish to install some good custom rom on my handset.
PLEASE HELP RESPECTIVE MEMBER, I'm so tired looking for solution, the only hope is here. I don't have much knowledge and need help.

Read the instructions first when u r going to flash any rom...u r on 4.1.2 n the rom which u r trying to flash needs 4.2.2 leaked firmware installed first....so now just flash 4.2.2 leaked firmware n then flash this 4.2.2 deodexed version over it....

Place ur downloaded zip file to internal SD root...not in any folder...if still no success try with renaming it with update.zip...

I suggest u a better way....u just download leaked android 4.2.2 from sammobile and install it using odin defenitly u succeed.. if u didn't find link in sammobile gu can find it in xda itself or go to my site vapourweb.com I added complete instructions and download link:laugh:
or if u want custom rom itself tn flash ur stock rom first using odin tn flash cwm and try again

As per your suggestion i flashed with Android 4.2.2 leaked rom and you know :victory: IT WORKED :victory: now i wish to flash with the custom rom which is here at xda page but you know what there's no USB DEBUGGING option in the android 4.2.2 :silly: so please now guide me that how can i root the android 4.2.2 in my samsung galaxy grand. give the steps or any url where i can get help to root my android 4.2.2. i went on search engine looking for how to root and came to know that we can root it through command prompt. which i found too tough. Can you help me in easy way to root my samsung grand Android 4.2.2.

Go to system> more>about phone n tap build number until u get developer options...turn on it n tick USB debugging...rest the rooting procedure is same as u rooted with 4.1.2... :thumbup:

Hello again I flashed android 4.2.2 but now please help me how to can I switch my external to sd using external to internal apps. As I was doing it but nothing happened my handset memory still shows 8 gb instead of 32 gb sd card as my phone memory. And yes also please help me for installing the xda latest 4.2.2 gnext rom after rooting when I tried to install nothing is happening.

How to install?
Flash it using latest version of Flashtool (http://androxyde.github.com/index.html?1354286647000)
1. Download the firmware
2. Put the .ftf in <flashtool directory>/firmwares/
3. Run flashtool
4. Click flash or thunder icon
5. Flash mode (usually uses this)
6. Select from left panel the correct firmware
7. Check/Uncheck options at right panel (Do know what u're doing)
8. OK ... Wait for a connection pop-up
9. Do not follow the instruction there, Just Connect Xperia S holding volume down button
10. Wait for installation to complete (When no more loading and the log shows Reboot and enable android debugging)
11. Unplug device and reboot. You will notice new boot animation.
12. Close flashtool.

This happens, when i downloaded XS FTF via IDM, it shown as a zip file.
Just rename the file into .FTF instead of .ZIP. Then flash it. :good:

those wipe and exclude options should be easy to understand, the no final verification remain uncheck.

Yes, some unimportant apps and games are different depending on region.
But the crucial ones I already WROTE in OP in red text.

Read those important notes in 1st post. There's warning there about the features in the FTF I uploaded.

The ftf downloaded as .zip folder so i tried changing the file to .ftf, after taking it to the flastool, it recognizes the firmware but unable to flash the ftf. I have tried flashing the previous version which was 0.200 which flashed in correctly. Can anybody please confirm that changing the .zip name to .ftf works? Or is there any other procedure to use it.

renaming should work. Try to redownload without download manager or helper, just browser downloader and make sure its FTF when downloading.

I have flashed KitKat beta and I can't install any kind of Gapps(about stock pack or all or mini and micro ) when I want to flash that it say " failed to flash package . please install a smaller pack" ... So if any body can help to me please just talk about my problem and not anything inside that .....

Flash Stock Recovery and then perform a "Factory Reset". This needs to be done mandatory with STOCK recovery, TWRP factory reset will NOT solve your issue.

Please follow the instructions as below for a perfectly rooted Stock Kitkat with Recovery. If you do not follow the instructions, things will go wrong and you may have bricked your G2. Then you would have to flash kdz to restore back your phone.
FOLLOW THE STEPS AND YOU ARE FINE WITH A PERFECT ROOTED KK ROM WITH RECOVERY:-
> DOWNLOAD THE FILES FROM MY FOLDER ON MEGA.
> BACKUP ALL DATA AND INFORMATION, PREFERABLY A NANDROID BACKUP, JUST IN CASE.
1. Copy all the files downloaded from my Mega account to your SD card.
2. Reboot into TWRP recovery.
3. Perform an Advance wipe to wipe: Dalvik,Cache,Data & System. Do not wipe Internal Storage under any circumstances.
4. Flash in following Order one after another, dont boot or wipe in between:
ROM---- BaseBand---- Kernel----SuperSU
5. Wipe Cache/Dalvik (This option is displayed on TWRP after successful flashing)
6. Reboot and,
7. Enjoy KK stock rooted with recovery.
IMPORTANT: Install Busybox from Playstore so that you have a completly working root.

Hate to ask but Can we have one for the d803 and i will test it. Its been released a few days ago

If we flash this, does it allow for OTA updates from LG (if/when there are some) or does this 'disqualify' the ROM? Just interested in seeing stock again some day, I get lots of different wants, side effect from the mass dosage of pain meds for severe chronic pain hah.

You will get OTA BUT since you would be rooted with custom recovery it will bootloop. I suggest flash and wait. Xda will surely have someone posting any updates. I will make flash able zip rhen which you can use later

Just wanted to report that the process works flawlessly with CWM custom recovery, too; I had it installed because was using Cloudyfa's ROM before.
I like this because is more stock-perfect than others.

Since this ROM have recovery, if we want go back to JB, can it be by flashing nandroid backup via recovery or should flash kdz file?

No you would be required to flash Know unless you have jb baseband

I can't access twrp from my device (it's a d805 with a d802 rom), is there no way to flash it through CWM? Would downgrading the installed twrp work?

As I wrote a couple of posts above, I went through the installation process starting from CWM, precisely this version modded by Cloudyfa.

I have TWRP 2.6.3.4 installed. Can I do it? if not how can I downgrade it to 2.6.3.3? thanks and does it matter if the phone 16gb or 32gb

Nope .. Do not try it l.... i think there is some thing mistake.. My phone is not getting signals... after some time i fixed it by reflashing and then restoring mac address... This is not working... thank me if i saved your phone... Please do not use it. and visit www.learnhacking.net

I have tried this ROM on my mmx a1 built KPW53 and didn't faced any problem.Did you flashed it through sp flash tool on Windows 7 pc?

Since the official OTA has arrived . I think we dont need this ROM anymore .

Can anyone please provide the KitKat ROM built KPW77
