I'll look into it. I don't know how far I'll get. I'm not a magic worker, but if they have a solid hand out to unofficial builders, we might see something.

Hey thanks for the reply and i appreciate your hard work

It looks as though it is nothing like an Android ROM, they have their own intrid.img, you have to set up multiple environments (Mer core, etc), and many other things. This will be an interesting project. The hardware adaption kit is 60+ pages. We'll see how far I get.

Not well, I've spent more time ****ing with my phone trying to get it to deepsleep than working on Sailfish. I also have tried to get AOSPA to compile but it only compiles 36 MBs of the hundred and eighty something megabyte package. It has been a hard week for Android stuff for me.

I'm probably going to do that soon. But it's hard since my phone never freaking deep sleeps, so it dies too fast and that just doesn't work for me. I've flashed PAC from stock 4.1.2 and it still doesn't deep sleep. I'm going nuts here lol.

MyTouch 4G Kernel Source Code

Source code released this morning. Give it a whirl devs, i'm sure we're all curious to see what this phone can do.

Good deal. Overclocking is a big one for me. Maybe after I learn some more programming with my degree I can syart helping these guys on new phones...
Also, I am not sure if TMobile is going to disable wi-fi calling or tether features, but we should jack them on the idea of charging us too.
This should be a good day for us MT4G owners I hope!
All kernel sources are here: http://developer.htc.com/
Nice! It's about time! As much as I love the stock version I need to see what this baby can do.

This was all Kmobs was waiting on. He mentioned (twitter) last night that ETA for CM6 was 12/25/10, contingent upon source release. Since this came out WAY ahead of the usual time frame for releases, i'm thinking we'll get something long before Christmas.
This means we'll get ROM's soon...I hope?

It means custom kernels, not roms. Though it does technically mean we'll get CM6 sooner since it uses a custom kernel.

Download ADW or Launcher Pro out of the market. I'm used to CM6, so I went with ADW. Feels like home.
Yep, bloatware cleanup, ADW install, and SDcard cleanup are on the menu tonight. Hopefully someone will have an OC kernel up by this evening.
I wonder if we'll be able to break the 2GHz barrier on the MT4G, I know they hit 1.9 on the G2.

I'm thinking it will crush the G2's scores. Although that really doesn't matter much to me so much as what they'll be able to do with OC/UV. I want to see how much battery life they'll get out of the MSM8255.

I dunno if I'd go so far as to say "crush" however I'd be surprised if it wasn't higher. I agree though equal performance to stock with much better battery life is far more exciting because stock is already fast as hell.

Paranoid Android for our GS3(Will it be ported)

I was watching a review today of Paranoid Android for the i9300 & it looked amazing! I've been enjoying the new TW ui, much to my surprise, so I've been taking advantage of its many new features, but tablet mode was looking so great on the 4.8 inch screen! I've only ever really tested it much on my old Sensation, but the smaller screen with the lesser resolution made it seem not so ideal. I really think it could take advantage of the beautiful bigger screen of the T999! It's so unique and it would give us a whole new way to use our phone. Does anyone know how to port this to our phone? Maybe someone here is friendly with the Paranoid Roms development team? Any ideas or insight?
PS: I've tried playing around with the dpi without much success . I couldn't seem to get the phone to behave as a tablet like with some other devices, and it didn't seem to be very stable after modifying it...

Oh God yes, lol! I was using the Sensation quite a bit before the gs3 was released because there's a lot of development & it can be a fun device to play with, but it's not worth comparing to the gs3. I'll probably always keep my sensation because I don't like to get rid of any of my phones, and I'm kind of a phone junkie, but it's been on loan to a friend for a few weeks now. The Gs3 will be a huge upgrade if the Sensation is the only phone you've been using.
It probably will get ported I also can't wait I used it on my galaxy nexus and love the Rom, the tablet ui is amazing and makes thin easier IMO

From what I have heard it should be a pretty easy port seeing as it's based off of cm9/10. I 'll probably give it a try tomorrow and upload a test build for you to try out, but im not making any promises because this week is busy for me.
EDIT: what one would you like me to try JB or ICS?

Well, if your asking what I personally would like, then you freakin" rock sir! I suppose if I were to choose which I'd like to see first it would be a cm9 base, simply because odds are it would be the most stable. A jb build would be incredible, but I generally only flash roms that are fully functional & can be used as a daily driver. I'm not the flashaholic I once was mostly because I don't have the time to be. If your able to get it booting & its stable that would be fantastic! I've personally always looked at PA as a rom that's more for something like the Note, but I think the gs3 is just large enough that I want to run with it & reinvent how I use my primary phone. If we get a 100% functional build, I may never look back, but like I said above, I've never really driven it hard before?
I got it booting but I have no signal wifi works though. I'm no dev so maybe someone can help me.
I have no signal cause it made me lose my IMEI
OK so I restored my Nandroid and I have my IMEI back. My IMEI said unknown in phone settings so im guessing that it was just the roms fault not a wiped IMEI? anyway here are some pics and I will upload the build. Root doesn't work as well as pad control but it's a start. Any dev is welcome to take this and use it to try and make it more functional.

Wow Bro, that was fast! I know nothing about developing or porting, but I've just been starting to look into a few threads on the 101. It's definitely nothing that I'll pick up overnight, lol! Maybe if you post the build in development someone will work on it with you? I never thought I'd say this, but TW is running so smooth & has so many nice touches on FreeGS3 that I probably won't flash anything until this is running strong or a super stable Jellybean Rom of any flavor drops.

+1! When we get PA stable, that will get me away from FreeGS3 to check it out. Every day that I use FreeGS3 I fall more I think love with Red's tweaked TW build! I would run this on any device, there are alot of great features in TW now, & Red added even more. I love the tablet style apps though, they are so much more funtional. If I could keep a TW base, but get tablet mode for all my apps then that would be the perfect rom for me. I don't think that'll ever happen, so I'll have to run PA for a week once it's finished & see which I prefer.

I see a few things that aren't perfect just looking through the zip. Wont know more until i get it flashed but this shouldn't be too difficult.
I fixed ril. But it broke boot.
Ril paths in build.prop should be
rild.libpath=/system/lib/libril-qc-qmi-1.so
rild.libargs=-d /dev/smd0
But somehow that breaks boot.

I am sure it is possible, but my time with HOX is slowly running out. After 3 years with this great little device it's time for me to move on.
Here is why I think it can be done: 1 2
I have started patching the hox to the point where I can build the ROM and the kernel, but it does not yet boot.
Everything is here, for anyone to play with. May need just one small patch more ... may need a lot of further patching. I guess a lot!

NO @teemo don't leave the hox you are the last developer here. Where you think to go?
Lol, luckily there is no new device i really like, so I will hang on to HOX for a while. What I want is a phone that doesn't look like iPhone or sammy. M7,8,9 are okay, but I want more than 5 inch and form factor should be something like G3. A9 would probably be fine, but a bit too small. 9X will probably be similar to A9, if I decode llabtoofers tweets correct. M10 might be interesting, let's see. But if it keep M789s display xy proportions it's a no go.
Well, back on topic, time is my worst enemy and it's not getting better. Currently I'm settling with SlimKat, that does everything better than lollipop except occasional freezes on videos. Want to check out AICP or RR or... , but...... time.
Ah, almost forgot to mention, if nothing cool pop up, Lumia could be the way to go. I like the new one.

The lumia950 is indeed amazing!
But stay away from the G3 and G4 they have a giant problem that is called a 2k display...
These new high resolutions chokes up the gpu to the point that smooth gaming/vr are impossible and to the point where even scrolling is laggy.
RR freezes ALOT (it returns after a few mins) and just stops responding to everything(even the power button) especially while browsing.
Have you thought about z5 compact? it got a 720p screen a super camera and an extremely powerfull gpu but it is small.
form factor like an LG... How about a ZENFONE 2?
ps: What is a 9X? never heard of that phone and about the A9 you just said: "something that doesnt look like an iphone..."(even though the iphone looks like an htc and not vice versa )
The m10 will be great if it will maintain its 1080p display.
YOU ARE AWESOME! thank you for everything you have done on this device!
I think too that the one x is a fantastic and damn durable phone(drops frequently never broke and still without a scratch after 3+ years) its just the new phone's batteries are what i envy, (7+ screen hrs vs my 1.5-2 hrs)
I got a spare HTC One X, even tho I'm still a noob at being a dev but I sure learn pretty fast when i'm interested in things.
I'm going to play around with build it for a bit.

There's no sources other than the athena device sources. It says based on lineageos, but without a repo to sync and build it, I can't build it. You can try this: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=962021903579485287

Is the LegendROM ready to be a daily driver? From the few ROMs released so far, they all seem to share a common problem: no audio for phone calls. While I know that issue is being worked on, I need to be able to use the phone for actual calls.
Thanks again to you and everyone else that is developing for this phone!

I only really posted AquariOS to get some logs and feedback on bugs since I can't have my phone down for testing very long until I aquire another for testing purposes. I should have waited to activate it but I got antsy, lol.

I'm a big fan of AOSP builds myself. Nothing against Lineage, but AOSP builds bring me back to the good old Nexus days. A barebones AOSP rom would be awesome.

I second this. Straight AOSP/CAF builds.

I have just the thing for you if you really want bare bones. I did this one for surnia: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-e-2015/development/rom-mainstageos-t3650672
I can build it for this tommorow. You can try this one for now: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=223958 It's not bare bones, but...

Is is possible to port Moto's chop chop feature? On my Moto G4, I really love the chop chop to turn on the flashlight. I have tried various apps from the Play Store that will simulate this on the E4, however, when all is said and done, they are sub-par to the real deal.
Cool if possible. Understandable if not.
Thanks.

That's one source I don't have already, but time permitting, I'll see what I can do. I want to get data working so I can use all these damn roms. I'll start syncing it before I go to sleep tonight. I just did straight aosp-caf, I'll upload it for testing ASAP.

Tbh... I wasn't really expecting. I just thought it would be weird to ask. Call me nostalgic I guess. So please don't take what I requested too seriously. But that is cool to consider. I just wish I could find the proper setup to make a rom for N... All I know is KK and lower because it had a diff format.

I did start this thread for a reason. PM me, I can help you out with building if you really want to. As long as your pc has at least 8gb of ram anyway. You might be able to get by with 4gb and a good size swap space if you set things up right, but at least 8gb is best. It's nice to be able to build yourself.

It only has 2gb of RAM and it is a Macbook from late 2009 converted into a windows 8.1 PC. So yeah... A no go for me. Maybe around Jan I'll get a fresh PC. But for now I have what I have

I hear you, that sucks. I was in pretty much the same boat. Once nougat came I had to scrounge up enough to build my baby this past February.

Straight aosp-caf. https://github.com/AOSP-CAF?tab=repositories I haven't tested it yet, I'm about to flash it now.
Edit: with the sources from https://github.com/moto8937
updated this morning.
