I recently upgraded my device using the [ROM][ODIN] SPH-L710 ND8 (ND8 Modem/Kernel/Bootloader/ROM - Full Restore - Unrooted).
The process went great and I am booted. I have cellular voice (made a test call) but cannot receive cellular data. Updating PRL and Profile fail (Code: 601)Connection Error. I have TWRP backup from before the upgrade. I came from MK3 running CM11.
Thanks for help troubleshooting with me.
Have you tried clearing cache and dalvik in your recovery and then rebooting and trying your PRL and profile update?

Yep. Didnt help. Still no data service.
I restored my CM11 backup (which I planned to do anyways) and I get cellular data. But I am still baffled as to why the stock ROM doesn't get data. I would especially like to know for when I sell the phone and revert to stock ROM for the next owner.
You could always try the dialer code to do over the air activation, if you decide to go back to TouchWiz

Is this something I can do without the help of Sprint cust care?
I am going to try reflashing the stock ROM and see if it works. Will update shortly...
Yeah the dialer code can be used to reset data without customer care, but if you're on TW you can trouble shoot with customer care and you'll have no problems following the steps they would want you to do to troubleshoot
*edit* dialer code: ##DATA#

I tried wiping system, data, cache, dalvik and flashing [STOCK ROM][4.4] ND8 Kitkat ROM but still no cellular data.
I was able to fix it by dial ##72786# to reset data and reactivate phone. Which is what you had mentioned earlier. Now I get cellular data and can update Profile and PLR.
Thanks for taking the time to help me.
No problem, glad I could offer some assistance

So i flashed the new AOKP just how i flashed my last AOKP rom and when i booted back up to log into my gmail, it said my network is not working and it's not provisioned with sprint or something. i can call and text but when i use internet apps etc it says i have no connection and i'd have to get on wifi. anyone know how to fix this?
Have you updated the PRL and Profile?
Wierd, I was on AOKP earlier today and I have had no problems in relation to that.
Perhaps reflash?
Be sure to wipe cache and dalvik too.
from the home screen go press Menu->Settings->System Updates->Update Profile.....let the phone provision...your error message should go away and your 3g/4g data will be enabled...also, do a PRL Update (just in case) ;]

AOKP is not TW based and does not have the update profile and PRL options. You must flash a TW ROM to do so.
I second the opinion that the OP should attempt a reflash of AOKP first and be sure to wipe data, cache, and dalvik.

On AOKP, CM9... You don't. Honestly, I've never had to. I would try a fresh clean install of AOKP, remembering to wipe data, cache, and dalvik.
If you really want to do profile and prl, you'll have to flash a tw based ROM or stock.
Since flashing a CM 10 ROM I've been unable to get data connection. I've tried toggling airplane mode but no luck. If anyone can point me to source that explains the setting up of the mobile data after activating with the carrier I'd be thankful.
Even after manually entering the APN settings it does not appear.
Im using JellyBam 3.20-20121224 and kernel: 2.6.39.4-cyanogenmod

How do I go about finding out the info to enter into the APN?

I guess you can call up the service center and have them send the settings to your phone directly, that ll get saved automatically n after a restart of the device, data can work....happened to me with my new phone on the very first day with stock rom..!!

I flashed that ROM last night also...
Had that problem last night after restoring my paranoid android backup.
I did a full wipe. Cache, dalvik, system, factory reset and than restored my backup and it went away.
Something in that flash stuck around after a wipe. I was really freaked out last night. I never flash tw ROMs and that made me want to never again...

Just flash a d2can rom. Should fix your problem. Ports are not always reliable and it may not "like" your phones hardware.

You can always go the long way and it may help. Wipe everything from custom recovery (system, data, cache, dalvik, internal sd card) and then go into download mode and ODIN back to stock. Factory reset then proceed to rooting and installing as you wish.
hello everyone. i'm having a problem my phone is running extra slow. i'm rooted on stock, dealing with the official crap 4.3 fw. i tried to factory reset my phone. i wiped the data, cache, dalvik and fixed permissions. after the factory reset super user, internal files and teamwin recovery is still on my phone. once i start installing any apps the phones starts to run like the first gen android. i need help. i would like a complete full wipe that will revery everything completely back to stock.
i've already searched before making this post. i didn't see anything any results that had problems of these files staying on phone.
Odin back to stock. You will need the 4.3 tar.
Or go here

Make sure you format data and system. Factory reset only wipes data, txt, contacts, apps but not system apps like superuser.

thanks for the info. i fixed my problem before having the chance to see you reply. i guess that is the only way to do it on 4.3 while on 4.12 that's all i did to get back to stock it wiped everything including super user. i will bookmark this info for future issues with this crap fw. thanks again for the info.
I'm rooted on my Galaxy S3. Last month I made a backup through TWRP recovery. Yesterday when I restored to the backup, the restore wasnt complete. I tried to restore again and I encountered the same incomplete restore. My customized settings in the apps were gone and some of the apps I had backed up weren't included in the restore. Looks like something got messed up.
I then wiped cache, Dalvik, data and system. I even formatted the phone. I also did a factory reset. This messed up my phone so I installed a new rooted stock rom. So now, the phone is slow as hell and apps arent very responsive. Everything is laggy and slow. And the play store and youtube have slow connection speeds.
What should I do to fix this stupidity??
Did you try restoring a stock ROM via Odin?
I had the same thing happen before. Odin with a stock rom is all that fixed it for me.

Yes I did. But Playstore downloading speed and wifi speed are slow as hell. What do you suggest?
Are you downloading over WiFi or cellular data network? The phone is running the latest rom without root? After flashing, you you immediately go to b recovery and do a full wipe?

Yes I'm downloading over wifi and its slow. The phone is laggy too. Its running JB with root. I tried a full wipe of dalvik, cache and data or system. It doesnt help.
This is really strange because a factory reset usually does the trick.
This may be a redundant question but was the phone flashed with the correct ROM? I see different variations of the T999 on sammobile.com's website.

Hi audit.. Its not a dumb question at all. The rom was the correct one for my phone. Everything was working fine up until a week ago. Its possible that my phone fell and maybe that caused damage maybe.
Not only that but restoring bsckups through TWRP doesnt yield perfect restores. All my restores have not been complete. Customized settings all returned to default and apps were rearramged differently.
Anyeay, just to make sure, how can I do a proper wipe without wiping out my custom settings and apps? Do I just wipe dalvik, cache and system?
You would wipe dalvik and cache only.
Wiping data wipes apps.
Wiping system wipes the rom.

Thanks for a speedy reply. Can you explain why my backuo restores through TWRP dont yield perfect restores? Custom settings return to default and apps are arranged differently.
I am not sure why that happens but I have used twrp on several phones, including the lg g2, nexus 4, note 3, htc one x, and Samsung tab without issue. Maybe you need to do a full wipe before restoring? Does the phone have the latest twrp?

Hi audit. Yes the phone has the latest TWRP. I downloaded it from the play store yesterday.
I got an important question. I backed up my rom a few days through TWRP as I said. Is it possible to open up the backup on my laptop and search for specific pics? I dont want to restore the rom, since as I stated, I have problems doing so. I just need to get those pics. Is this possible?
I am not sure but it is worth a try.
Humour me but is the twrp 2.8.7?

Thats right, current version is 2.8.7.0.
I don't know why it doesn't restore properly. Maybe try re-flashing twrp from Odin? Can't really think of anything else.

How do I reflask TWRP through odin? In doing so, would I risk losing my data, apps, etc? Is it safe?
You download the tar file for d2att, open Odin, put phone into download mode, put the tar file in the pda box, and flash.

Wait, when you say the tar file for d2att you mean the TWRP file, right? Hope thats what you mean because the way you describe it, it sounds like instructions on flashing the whole rom.
Where do I get the tar file for the TWRP app?
