Right after I turn on the screen there is a slight stutter when I rotate the screen between portrait and landscape. It goes away after I use the tablet for a minute or so, but it sometimes comes back after I exit an app and happens every time I first turn on the screen. I'm using the OTA update not the flashed one, and I performed a factory reset already too.
I'm getting the same thing
Just flashed the official OTA and noticed that this showed up....

first i thought it was launcher pro's fault, but after changing launcher and rom release i'm pretty sure it's something else i haven't tracked down yet.
just after a reboot phone works as usual: screen lock runs after 30 seconds or by clicking the power button
after a while (days or even hours sometimes), the screen lock does not kick-in anymore: the screen just turns off and when you press the power button the phone is already unlocked.
i noticed that when the phone is in this "lock-bug" mode the notification led constantly shows a faint red light (you can barely notice it in the dark because it's really faint).
tested with:
launcher pro
go launcher
factory rom 2.21
blurless 2.34
I used to have the faint red light on after flashing a new rom.
It disapeared after I changed display setting to not automatic brightness.
It seems that the faint red light is the light sensor.
But I know nothing about your screen lock problem.
I have run into the same thing. I have not yet noticed the light, but I've had the screen lock stop working on my phone twice (I bought 3 phones 5 days ago for work). Like you, a simple reboot fixed the problem. I also tried toggling screen lock in the settings, and setting up a lock code, to see if the screen lock would start up. Both of my times, the first I noticed the issue was when I received a phone call and didn't have to swipe to answer, but that could have just been coincidence.
It isn't really a big deal for me or the employees, but it is a nuisance.
Happened to me as well, twice. First time it was just annoying that I had to reboot, second time it drained the s**t out of my battery in three hours.
So it's a bug allright.

same here.. it just stops working.. any fixes yet?
Hi there,
After installing the XXDLH6 ROM of Jelly Bean on my GT-I9300 it works fine when it starts up. After a while however when my facebook app is opened and the screen is turned of by the time out, when I return I can't see the pictures anymore after clicking on them. You see the picture for a few miliseconds and the screen turns black. When you rotate the phone you see the image transition from portrait to landscape and then the screen turns black again. If you then press back the timeline shows again.
Some apps have the same problem (backgammon free). It starts up and the screen turns black. The application runs fine in the background it's just that the screen is turned off.
Tried clearing cache, closing app and restarting but once the problem starts it takes a reboot to solve and then it starts over again after a while.
solution anyone?

Is anyone having dimming problems with there screen? For instance, when I'm on the browser, and want to swipe the screen upward with my finger the screen dims out right when I slide my finger without even messing with the brightness slider. It happens even on FB. The only way to bring up the brightness back is to turn off screen with the power button and back up or move the slider on drop down.
Anyone having this similar problem? Thanks.

I have issues where the screen doesn't adjust based on ambient light.
I am assuming you dont have auto-brightness turned on, do you have the same issue when it is on?
I haven't tried that. Bit its the screen that dims down by itself when I touch the screen. I did a factory reset when I was NF4 and update to NF9 and the problem is still there.

I don't know if this is the same as yours, but few times, when screen is close to it's time out, it dims to tell me so, now if I want to keep screen on I would swipe or touch it, most of the time it will go back to normal, but in very few cases, count down timer will reset, so the screen stays on, but the brightness doesn't come back, screen will stay at low power and I need to double click power button, to turn the screen off and on to get back proper brightness. It's very rare, haven't seen it since my update to NF9 week ago, but I've seen it. No big deal since it's rare and easily fixed with double click. If your problem is not time out related, then I have not seen it. Either way I would speculate it is software related, somehow screen brightness register is improperly or not updated at all. It doesn't bother me at all, but if it was I would probably try factory reset after full backup.
I seem to be having an issue with the screen turning on at random. I have Always-on screen set to ON and tilt-to-wake set to OFF, but the screen will turn on sometimes seemingly at random and multiple times in a row. I have done Factory Reset a couple of times and it does not help.
Is there anyone else with this occurance and is there a fix for it?

I have this issue too. I've tried several configurations and it keeps doing it.

Any apps that send a lot of notifications or any notifications that are automatically dismissed/very briefly show up? Can't think of anything else that would wake your watch.
No, not on mine.

I have the exact same issue. At first I thought it was tilt-to-wake having poor gesture recognition so I turned it off. However I noticed without touching the screen it would turn on and then turn off after the stand-by time. To verify that was the case I left it sitting on my desk all day and observed that it would in fact randomly turn on and off. I also noticed that when the issue occurs the battery life decreases rapidly.
Also this issue will continue to occur even in theater mode.
Have you find a solution yet? My smartwatch 3 does the screen turn on randomly and then also touch screen issue occurs, and it makes random touches, swipes going into settings and so on, without touching the screen. I'am on the latest wear version mwd49b.
For more info search on youtube for my video about this problem: Sony SmartWatch 3 screen problem.
I recently began having the same problem. The screen does not turn off after it randomly turns on - I have to manually press the button to turn it off. Needless to say, this tend to run down the battery. I did a factory reset this morning, but the problem persists.
EDITING POST JULY 20:
After factory reset, I actually had the watch doubly connected to the phone, so I have corrected that now. However the problem with the random turn-ons began occurring well before the factory reset. I'm not sure what triggers it, or what stops it, but when it begins to happen, it drains the battery very quickly. The problem only began recently (within the past few weeks), so I'm not sure what changed to bring this on.
A bug in Android Alarm Clock keep the watch active after alarm ring. Just corrected yesterday by an update on Google Alarm/Clock app.
On the phone > android wear app > settings icon on top right > device settings (smartwatch 3) >tilt to wake set to off
So I have a very annoying issue and wondering if anyone else does. I have auto rotate on. If I am on a phone call and hang up it screws p the auto rotate feature and everything is sideways. Only way to fix is turn auto rotate off/on again.
Anyone else have this issue? I did update to the November OTA and still is there. About to factory reset unless someone else found a trick to fix it.

i have an auto rotate issue where if i use the phone in landscape mode for too long (1-2 minutes), the screen "snap" back to portrait and back to landscape. watching videos in landscape is annoying. recording in landscape will cause the video to stop recording when the snap occurs.
i use a third party app called "set orientation" to force it to landscape when i need to, and that solved my issue.
try this app and see if it works for you (it's free)
I have this issue on both on my pixel 2 xls
That's strange, I actually had an issue where I couldn't turn auto rotate off. Well, I could turn it off, but locking and unlocking the phone would turn it back on. Every single time. Until I installed the November OTA. Seems all better now.
My auto rotate shuts off by itself, have to switch back on frequently
