[Q] Black screen - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

Hi there,
After installing the XXDLH6 ROM of Jelly Bean on my GT-I9300 it works fine when it starts up. After a while however when my facebook app is opened and the screen is turned of by the time out, when I return I can't see the pictures anymore after clicking on them. You see the picture for a few miliseconds and the screen turns black. When you rotate the phone you see the image transition from portrait to landscape and then the screen turns black again. If you then press back the timeline shows again.
Some apps have the same problem (backgammon free). It starts up and the screen turns black. The application runs fine in the background it's just that the screen is turned off.
Tried clearing cache, closing app and restarting but once the problem starts it takes a reboot to solve and then it starts over again after a while.
solution anyone?

BUG: screen lock does not kick in

first i thought it was launcher pro's fault, but after changing launcher and rom release i'm pretty sure it's something else i haven't tracked down yet.
just after a reboot phone works as usual: screen lock runs after 30 seconds or by clicking the power button
after a while (days or even hours sometimes), the screen lock does not kick-in anymore: the screen just turns off and when you press the power button the phone is already unlocked.
i noticed that when the phone is in this "lock-bug" mode the notification led constantly shows a faint red light (you can barely notice it in the dark because it's really faint).
tested with:
launcher pro
go launcher
factory rom 2.21
blurless 2.34
I used to have the faint red light on after flashing a new rom.
It disapeared after I changed display setting to not automatic brightness.
It seems that the faint red light is the light sensor.
But I know nothing about your screen lock problem.
I have run into the same thing. I have not yet noticed the light, but I've had the screen lock stop working on my phone twice (I bought 3 phones 5 days ago for work). Like you, a simple reboot fixed the problem. I also tried toggling screen lock in the settings, and setting up a lock code, to see if the screen lock would start up. Both of my times, the first I noticed the issue was when I received a phone call and didn't have to swipe to answer, but that could have just been coincidence.
It isn't really a big deal for me or the employees, but it is a nuisance.
Happened to me as well, twice. First time it was just annoying that I had to reboot, second time it drained the s**t out of my battery in three hours.
So it's a bug allright.

Inverted Screen...Possible Fix...Works for me

When you push the power button and see that your screen is inverted, then.... with the screen still on, hold your phone tight and give it a hard flick of the wrist. This has worked twice for me.
Running Calkulin's 2.6, Overstew's ICS AIO, Launcher Pro
Is this working for anyone running different setups?
can anyone verify that I wasn't drunk when I wrote this? The wife says I didn' t do anything today but get ripped. I told her I helped a lot people...just not her.
I have had the screen invert once... I just rebooted...
I have also had my entire screen go magenta for some strange reason...
The screen "appears" to be inverted... but it isnt... at least not to the phone. unlock the screen with the same manner you always would even though the visual cues are wrong. What ever lockscreen you are on, just do the same motion again. then once in the normal home screen, rotate it around a few times and it corrects itself.
I know exactly what you are saying about being inverted but still fully functional....giving a shake a shake with the snap of the wrist solved the issue without playing games.
Download Spare Parts from the market and set "Window Animations" to "Fast." Haven't had the screen inversion problem since.
i had it one time and and using adw pro all i need to do is rotate my screen and it resets the orientation

Screen starts to glow on it's own???

Hi,
I don't know what's going on with the screen of my one-v...
well I press lock button, so screen goes dark, but after a while it lights up for few seconds showing me lock screen... then it goes dark, and after few second it does it again.
after 2 times it stops, but it is annoying when you put phone on the desk, that it glows so you start to think about coming call or text.
what's going on?
lolsss..
haunted maybe
Sent from my HTC One V
haha well hopefully not
I thought at beginning that it could be caused because of apz running in background but I have double checked - there are not any

have you tried factory resetting?
Are you using an app like Keep Screen?
My friend had a similar problem when she used the Keep Screen app.
Have you received an update?
Try using another locker like GO Locker or Magic Locker. Inform if it happens again.
strange thing, but it magically stopped happening
That may due to your brightness settings which is set to "Automatic" by default.
well it was too early for me to say that problem is gone... it happens again today ;/
I have fixed level of brightness, no apps except battery life working in background... all newest updates installed.
any ideas?

odd screen rotation behavior since lollipop

Right after I turn on the screen there is a slight stutter when I rotate the screen between portrait and landscape. It goes away after I use the tablet for a minute or so, but it sometimes comes back after I exit an app and happens every time I first turn on the screen. I'm using the OTA update not the flashed one, and I performed a factory reset already too.
I'm getting the same thing
Just flashed the official OTA and noticed that this showed up....

LG G3 screen slowly turning white when screen is turned on

Hello, so I am experiencing a huge pain in my butt with my LG G3, the issue is that whenever I press the power on button to turn the screen on my screensaver pops up and looks completely fine, after about 5 seconds a white shadow starts to appear in the background and slowly starts to make certain parts of my screen invisible, but as soon as a lock my phone and turn the screen on its gone but the process starts again. May be a possible led problem or something else? I would appreciate any help I can get before I go and take the phone back to Verizon and see what they say.
What screen saver are u using? Have you tried hard reseting the phone?

Just a normal picture from my gallery nothing extravagant or anything, it's strange there are like dark streaks going down my screen, I cannot capture it on a screenshot so I'd have to post a picture of it.

Hello,
I have exactly the same problem. I am able to use the phone in all his features, but the display presents stripes of shadow white. These shadows disappears when phone gets locked and appears when unlocking after few seconds. How did you solve? Will the guarantee cover this problem?
