Pretty sure you have to setup your APN's again in mobile network settings. Jellybean will wipe your phone completely if you didn't backup your phone settings before. Check what the APNs are for your service provider,

Hello I'm a new Sony Xperia Ion LT28H user. My sim is sun cellular and its GPRS can't be activated. What are the settings and what should I do to be able to use internet on my phone. Please help me. Thanks!

You need to configure your carrier's apn settings to enable data.

Btw, gprs is not mobile internet, its for ur location.

Settings>more(after data usage)>mobile networks>access point names. You need your carrier's settings though. Google them. Afterwards save the apn and tick enable data.

I think you're thinking GPS. GPRS is normally associated with 2G or 3G which doesn't use HSPA.

You're talking about gps Gprs is an old internet service LT28h uses HSPA+ or LTE

First of all confirm from ur carrier that gprs is activated or not, if yes then go to settings - xperia - Internet setting, it will automatically download the settings

I went to a Sun Cellular service center and they said their system is offline and it seems they are having problems. By the way when u said LT28h uses HSPA, does that mean that other procedures should be done to enable its mobile internet? Does it need a software to be installed?

It doesnt need new software, hspa is 3g internet(gprs is old very slow connection internet). To enable it just add your carriers apn settings

No it doesn't! When you start your device for the first time it tries to download the internet settings from your carrier try to turn off and then on your mible data in settings -> more -> mobile networks :cyclops: take the tick out from "Data enabled" then tick off it again if it doesn't work then write, I'll try to help!

[Q] Problems with LTE

How can I disable LTE. I have tried a few suggestion from this site, and havent got it to work. I am not tech savvy at all.
I went and got at&t service in December 2013 and bought the LG G2 phone and loved the phone. Everything was great with
The phone, data speed and connections until April 12th. I was not able to load any web page, and when on facebook it would
not update the page. It would tell the that I was not connected to the network, when I had all 5 signal bars. I also noticed that it also
now said LTE under the 4G. So they sent me another phone (lg g2) and I still had the same problem, so I then went and got a new
sim card, and that did not fix it either. So they sent me another phone. So now I have the LG OPTIMUS PRO E980 . I also figured out
that the only time I am able to use data is while I am on a phone call. And when i make a call, it changes from 4g LTE to just 4G. So
I called at&t to ask them how to disable LTE and they told me that they couldnt tell me how to do it because they dont support it.
I work from home, and use my phone for work, so this is really hurting me. What isbreally weird is that I have a tower about 1/4 mile
from my house. I am sorry for such a long post. I am not tech savvy either, so alot of whatvyall talk about, I have no clue what
it means, lol. Like rooted, bricked and flashed. HELP PLEASE! Thank you in advance.

Under settings, mobile data, is there a place to select "preferred network type"? I remember it being there.
On cm11 it can be selected, either LTE, 3g, or 2g.

Yes, the option is there, but it is greyed out
and will not let me select it.

Once there click your menus button and add Apn..
Input the info listed below. One of these should accomplish what u want. Oh and make sure after you enter the apn to hit menus and save.

There is an an app that will let you set it to 3g, but it seems to require root on some devices:

On some att phones dialing *#*#4636#*#* can give one access to these settings too.
I am not running stock and not on att, so I cannot test it.

What about APN'S for the LG G2 phone? I have to
send one of the 2 phones back, and I would much
rather keep the LG G2, if I could figure a way out to
not have to use LTE. I really appreciate everyones help
here!!!

[Q] F240K 3G issue ???

I have LG Optimus G Pro F240K version. I am living in Lahore,Pakistan. I have an issue with my phone. I am unable to use 3G services on my device. Whenever I try to use sim internet it shows G sign only instead of 3G. Where as 3G works fine on my Ipad4 with the same sim. Can any body help me to solve this problem. Is f240k is 3G supported or not???

I used 3G on ufone in karachi
Its perfectly working on the device
No issue at all. It got the 3G sign when I am in 3G area otherwise it switched to 2G. Which network are you using?

Yes. 3G activated on my number. Working fine on other set(F200L) and on my iPad but not in F240K...
R u on kitkat or jellybean ???

SETTINGS->TETHERING AND NETWORKS->SET NETWORK->WCDMA ONLY
Do this only when you know you have 3g in your area.

u can also select network manually by searching the networks and select mobilink wcdma (if its available in your area) and dont forget to activate gsm/wcmda
