Hi, my dad brought the this phone from China (for the second time, the first phone got bricked) and it came rooted with an ics rom. Wifi and the edge network was working,but I could not get 3g or 4g data. (It showed a 'G' on top of my network data bar on the top right). Is there a rom i can download that will allow at least my 3g data to be working. So far I tried cm10 but only the edge network worked and I had no wifi connection. My Baseband is SU640-MDM9200B V10i. I live in Canada and the phone is from China. Who knows what is wrong?
As far as I know the radios are different so that could be the problem.

you have to modify build.prop to correct region so your phone uses the proper radio settings for this region.
i'm not an expert but you can get a build.prop editor on play store, change the region to US i think it's ro.product.locale.region is the entry i think that's what it is on my rom atleast

Thanks for the suggestion, i tried your idea but no luck. I changed the value of that line to US and also CA but it was still giving me edge network.

Lol yeah I did this already. I put the correct APN (the same one I use for my lg optimus 2x that receives data connection). Thanks for the suggestion though, it's the simple ones that are usually the solution. Not this time though

Same problem happen to me when I changed the baseband before set the network mode to "GSM/WCDMA preferred".What I do is to rollback "the initial baseband" and make sure is 3G available.

What is your baseband now?Have you ever changed it?If yes, rollback your baseband using " dd if=/sdcard/baseband.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p14"(baseband.img is the one you used before,v10i,v10f...or else) ,after finish reboot your phone and set your network mod to "GSM/WCDMA preferred". (not sure it will work,just for your reference)

Haven't done anything to the baseband. It is APQ806/MDM9200. Should I just type that line into a terminal I download from Google play.
Extra info: I'm rooted on the newest jb v30c but can't seem to get into recovery I think because it's a secured/locked boot loader.

Before and after I input the code the network mode says 2 things... Lte preferred and 3g only. Either one I choose gives me the 'E' network above the bars.

It means your internet is working fine but something is getting uploaded from your phone
Check apps like Dropbox and such and turn off their uploads off when you need to download things.
Alternatively install an app (like NetLive) that lets you monitor which app is using your internet (download and upload both) more at that particular time so you can turn that particular app off
Yes ur right..I found that when I was connect the internet..many emails were enter on my device..thats why dis problem occours..I cleared the cash,history,data and now its works fine..

Since the benning of the month my network data stop working!!!
I already make a search in the internet, and i change the apn settings for all the forms i find in the internet for my network (TMN Portugal) but all didnt work...
So i eliminate the configuracions and make the download by the starting guide of the sony xperia s by Wi-Fi, but dont work!
Already turn off and turn on the phone but it continue...
The same whit microsim card tired to take off and again put in the phone and dont work...
So i decide to share where my problem, my problem is that i turn on the mobile network and dont show in the top the E simbol or H/3g simbol so i cant connect to network, hope you help me...

I have LG Optimus G Pro F240K version. I am living in Lahore,Pakistan. I have an issue with my phone. I am unable to use 3G services on my device. Whenever I try to use sim internet it shows G sign only instead of 3G. Where as 3G works fine on my Ipad4 with the same sim. Can any body help me to solve this problem. Is f240k is 3G supported or not???

No issue at all. It got the 3G sign when I am in 3G area otherwise it switched to 2G. Which network are you using?

Yes. 3G activated on my number. Working fine on other set(F200L) and on my iPad but not in F240K...
R u on kitkat or jellybean ???
SETTINGS->TETHERING AND NETWORKS->SET NETWORK->WCDMA ONLY
Do this only when you know you have 3g in your area.
u can also select network manually by searching the networks and select mobilink wcdma (if its available in your area) and dont forget to activate gsm/wcmda

Use *#*#info#*#* to make network choice GSM WCDMA LTE
And Use 3845#*180# for hidden menu.
Use LTE only and properly select Band and RAT

Band Channel ko Band 3 per Prefer kro.
Band Selectiom ko Automatic yah LTE 1800, UMTS 2100 and GSM 900/1800 check kro..
RAT mode ko automatic yah GSM WCDMA LTE per slect kro..
Phone reboot kr k settings again check kro.
And u should have correct APN settings to use 2G, 3G, 4G, Data
