Galaxy Tab S 8.4" T700x Live demo stock rom - Galaxy Tab S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I need to restore a live demo unit back to factory defaults with all the live demo crap on it. Does anyone have a link to the stock T700x rom that comes with the live demo units?
A link would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Please give me more info on the tablet. Is it wifi variant?, what country did you get it at? I can get you a link if you tell me that stuff.

If you do a master reset, you can get the normal rom.
From there, it's just a matter of downloading and installing the Retail Mode app, which can be found on the Play Store by searching for "retailsamsung".
I believe the password for the Tab S as well as the Note 4 and S5 retail modes is 5444, but I could be wrong on that.

I don't think there's a rom out there. Your best bet is to install t700 rom and then that live demo app. Any reason why u need to send back? Warranty?

Thanks for your help. Found a debloated odin flashable TAR for it which i flashed on to it. Still had the screen saver so all that was left was the demo mode APK package that was removed.
Here's the link to the odin flashable TAR for anyone who may run into the same issue

OK it's not difficult at mate, here what oh do.
1- go to Sam firmware website choose your device and then country of firmware download it.
2-install the firmware with odin.
3-for easy Google download (Samsung retail apk), it will take you to Samsung website where oh download apk and files for your phone.
4-there is very easy instruction on Samsung website at same we page just walk trough and tablet will convert back to factory demo unit.
Any question just ask.

Attempting to move in the other direction
Seeing as this thread still has some life in it... I'm trying to help a friend get a T700 out of demo mode, do you remember how you did it with your? I'm currently attempting to download the stock rom that matches what is on the tablet currently to re-flash it, but the download estimates are multiple hours long, so I was hoping that wasn't the only way out.
Never mind, I re-read the thread and you already said how you got it out. Looks like I'm waiting for a long download, hopefully this one doesn't die in the middle again.
Thanks

[Q] UN-ROOT Galaxy Note 2 LTE Tutorial?

I just successfully rooted my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 using Odin and CWM Recovery.
This is exactly what I did:
- D/L Odin 3.04 and "cwm6-root-note2.tar" and saved them to my Desktop
- Extracted Odin and started the program
- Set my Note 2 to USB Debugging
- Restarted the Note 2 in "Downloading Mode" by holding down Volume Down, Home & Power buttons simultaneously
- Connected usb cord to my phone and computer
- Confirmed that Odin registered connection of my phone correctly on COM port
- Went to PDA, then selected "cwm6-root-note2.tar"
- Then I selected start, or root or whatever starts the process. And voila! Rooted with CWM & SuperUser App.
However, I might be returning the phone so I now need to know how to reverse that process and UNROOT my phone. Can someone please help walk me through that process? Do I need to obtain more files that were overwritten or deleted when I rooted?
Also, I thought, perhaps, I could unroot using the SuperUser app so I chose the option that said something like "Unroot.... etc." All it did, however, was get rid of Super User because when I restart my phone in recovery mode, it still boots CWM-based Recovery v6.0.1.4
Any assistance would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thank you for your assistance. Which link do I download though? Are they all the same? Or do I need to find the link with the country I bought the phone in? If so, I didn't see Korea on that list at all.
Also, when I do this, will the counter be reset to zero?

Hi,
So you rooted a LTE version, can I ask which version did you have (SHV-E250S / SHV-E250K / SHV-E250L)?
Is it meaning the rooting process of LTE version is same as the non LTE (3G?) Note II?
Also, what is the reason of returning the phone? Did you find something not good with LTE?
Thank you.

I rooted a SHV-E250L. The process went very smoothly. Especially considering I'd never rooted a phone before. So, from my experience, it seems to be the same process but don't take my word for it.
The phone is awesome - no problems at all. It was just very expensive and I was having a little buyer's remorse. I'm over it now. I was also concerned about not being able to use it in the US when I move back, which I am still unsure about. I have asked a few developers on here but haven't heard back yet. If possible, I'd like to flash a US ROM on the phone so that I can use it on the networks there and access the unrestricted Google Play Store... so, we'll see.
Hope that helps.

I dont think these will work with your phone. These are for rhe N7100. Going by your recent posts, it looks like you have a different model.

Brian,
I am living in Korea as well and I have a lot of experience with the Korean smart phones.
To answer some of your questions, you can use them in the states with either a Stateside SIM (assuming your phone is unlocked, you can get it unlocked from the store if you're going to be traveling) or a Korean SIM (obvious roaming charges). I don't think the LTE bands are the same in SK and the US, therefore you wouldn't be able to use the LTE.
In my experience (with my SGS1) you won't be able to flash a US or Int'l ROM on your Korean model. The internals might be closer than the SGS1 and it's variants were but I wouldn't do it unless you have the Note2 Korean ROM ready to flash back with Odin in the event it won't boot.
You can get unrestricted Play Store access now. You need to download MarketAccess. Google it. it Allows you to basically tell the phone what network it thinks it's on.
In the event you ever need to unroot your phone, you just need to use Odin to flash the official firmware.
If you need anything else, let me know...

Most likely Tegrak will have a kernel for this device before too long. You would then be able to use the Odin software to root the phone. The process is the same for both.

Thank you so much for the answers. I really appreciate it. So, you're saying for sure I will not be able to use this phone's LTE capabilities in the US on any network? If so, that's a huge game changer for me... I wonder what LG U+'s return policy is... I know I can just transfer the phone to someone else here in Korea when I leave and pick up a Note 2 in the states when I go back but I feel like I'd be losing a lot of money since the cost of the phone is spread out amongst the monthly payments here in Korea. Are there any phones that will work work both on SK LTE and US LTE?
Regarding un-rooting my phone, don't I need to get a hold on the official firmware before I can flash it with Odin? Or is it stored somewhere on my phone? All the official firmwares I've seen on XDA are for the N7100 not the N7105. Any suggestions?
Thank you, again, for all your support. You rock!

No problem, glad to help.
I am also looking for the firmware online. I haven't found it yet. PM me your email and when I find it, I'll send it over to you.
All info I have read says LTE is different. The 3G would still work just no LTE.
Idk what LG's policy is, but you could take it to Samsung a/s in the electronics market to revert it if needed.
Good luck. I might know someone who could take the phone of your hands next year if you want to go that route.

Good info here. But what about his flash counter? Will that be reset to zero by flashing stock from via Odin?

Flash counter didn't exist when I was tinkering with me s1. I'll have to investigate. I would imagine there will be a way to revert it. I also would guess the Samsung a/s could do it?

SHV-E250S problem.
Hello SHV-E250S/K/L users.
Does anyone know where I can download an official factory stock ROM for my SHV-E250S ?
I have an IMEI missing issue, and EFS file deleted issue. After wich i have a black notice on the screen and no boot logo or turn of logo, it just switches straight away after pressing the button.
No network or IMEI(((
I just came back from the Samsung official service center, and guess what, they can`t help me. They say i need to flash an original factory rom, i even brought them the two roms i downloaded from the: www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&model=SHV-E250S&pcode=0&os=1&type=1#firmware
And they said that these are not official factory roms, that they are custom, all thaw when i flash with one them, and go to recovery mode, my current binary changes to official. Don’t know why but everything else stays the same:
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SHV-E250S
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: Yes (37 counts)
CURENT BINARY: Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom
DON`T KNOW HOW TO FIX, AND WHERE TO GET FACTORY ROM((((
Would appreciate any help!

ROOT TO STOCK instructions request

Hey guys,
Curious if anyone will spend the time to create a detailed step by step guide for all the people out there who have rooted and flashed roms to understand how to go back to complete stock with the ability to take OTA updates again. I have seen many people ask for this on the forums and have yet to see the same type of guide as seen on other samsung galaxy note mobile device threads on XDA. If I had the understanding to do this I would, but I do not want to steer people wrong. Thanks for whoever takes the time to post this info.
Please include US stock firmware link or file to download for flashing through ODIN!

Decent instructions, I have done these things. The question I have not seen anyone answer is why on every samsung firmware site, there is no official United States firmware for this device to flash in ODIN. They are all other countries. I have flashed the UK one before and it did not boot up. Had to go back to root and a rom to get it working again. I just wanted to set this tablet back to stock for a service request then root it when I get it back.
Thanks for the help

[Q] "Set Warranty Bit : kernel" - Galaxy S4 - Help

Hello Folks,
Nice site you have here I've heard it said that hacking is the new avant garde.
I have a: Samsung Galaxy S4 mini. GT-I9195 4.2.2. I got it here new in Germany a month ago.
A week ago, I tried to install Lollipop and didn't really understand what I was doing. Something seems to have gone wrong.
Now when I switch the mobile on, the Galaxy Logo appears but also a little yellow text message: "Set Warranty Bit : kernel" at the top of the screen. After this the mobile does nothing except display this message.
As I understand it, I should have 'rooted' the mobile first before trying to flash Lollipop via Odin. Correct?
Also, as I now understand it, I should have placed Lollipop on the SD card before trying to flash the mobile with Lollipop. correct?
I'm totally new at this and would appreciate it if someone can help direct me towards getting the mobile working again? And if I could run a better version of software I'd be thrilled!
Kind regards...

Hi there, according to my understanding if you have bought the phone recently, the stock version should have been 4.4.2. But anyways, u cannot flash Lollipop via odin. U need a custom recovery like cwm or TWRP for that. Not sure about the "set warranty bit" thing. May be KNOX has been tripped. At this moment i would suggest you to download a fresh firmware, from SAMMOBILE, to your to PC. Then flash it via ODIN. Thanks.

Hello Matesurano! Thank you for your help!

- Yes you are correct. It's is actually 4.4.2
But anyways, u cannot flash Lollipop via odin. U need a custom recovery like cwm or TWRP for that.
- Thank you for this info. I was not aware that this was the procedure. I will somehow look into this method.
May be KNOX has been tripped
- Yes, I believe that Knox has been tripped. Mobile screen reads:
ODIN MODE

CURRENT BINARY: CUSTOM
KNOX KERNEL LOCK: 0x0
KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 0x1
CSB-CONFIG-LSB: 0x30
BOOTLOADER AP SWREV: 2
WRITE PROTECTED; ENABLED
Using Odin I've tried to flash these files but had no luck in getting the mobile to boot up and work.

Check the file names of the rom you are trying to flash via Odin as they do not match your phone model. You are flashing the wrong version of firmware by the looks of it

To this moment there is no official lollipop firmware for the galaxy s4 mini, however you can always use something else like cyanogenmod (i personalidade dont like it).
Here is a download link for KitKat official release.
I CANNOT POST OUTSIDE LINKS ww w.sammobile. com/firmwares/download/46699/I9195XXUCOC2_I9195BTUCOC1_BTU/
Good morning Yilun,
Thank you for your help and your suggestion at SamMobile
When I check that link you gave I see that it is a UK firmware. I am in Germany and see that a 'Germany (E-Plus)' firmware is available for download and since that is the carrier my mobile is from I will go with that one. I hope it will work!
I will not be able to have access to a Windows computer until Friday but will try to flash the mobile then and report back my success.
RuffBuster, I appreciate you trying to help but if you can do give more info next time in the way that Yilun has then that would be more beneficial to the people you are trying to help. some extra direction can go a long way.
Thank you to everyone on this forum
Kind regards,

When I check that link you gave I see that it is a UK firmware. I am in Germany and see that a 'Germany (E-Plus)' firmware is available for download and since that is the carrier my mobile is from I will go with that one. I hope it will work!
I will not be able to have access to a Windows computer until Friday but will try to flash the mobile then and report back my success.
RuffBuster, I appreciate you trying to help but if you can do give more info next time in the way that Yilun has then that would be more beneficial to the people you are trying to help. some extra direction can go a long way.
Thank you to everyone on this forum
Kind regards,
Jona

To much effort for people who do to little reading... you shouldn't attempt any kind of flashing without doing the appropriate research. I spent weeks researching before I did anything with my phone.
And 2 seconds with Google you would have found this website. "Samsung firmware" and voilà the first search result.
Next time don't be lame and tell me what I "should" of done. Just be thankful I answered at all...
RuffBuster, Your answer contained no useful info. If you are not able to actually elaborate on the help you think you are giving then you are not actually helping anyone. Seems like you just want to give half answers to stroke your ego and collect posting points or something. Tell you what though, how about you do yourself a favour and go outside, there is a whole world beyond your phone. Feel free to write something childish back, I promise won't read it.

[Q] Help Needed for Newbie

Hi to all
I have the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 bronze non Wi-Fi. the Tab is rooted and now that I want to update firmware to lollipop it says that my Tab has been altered.
My question is do I need to unroot to get the new firmware and if so how do I do this. All help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Paul
Non WiFi? They're all WiFi. :what:
I take it you're trying to ota. You can update via kies (smart switch) or use odin. The firmware is available at sammobile or Samsung updates or if you're lucky a fast mirror maybe posted here.

Don't waste your time, just use kies or update via Odin. They are both official methods.

Hi Sorry to be a pain but when I connect to Kies I get the message that my device is supported by Smart Switch. When I connect to Smart Switch I can't find how to update as it only gives me the choice to transfer data from either Apple, Blackberry or Nokia devices as in picture. When the device is rooted is not possible to do a factory reset.
Thanks Paul

If you have root or custom recovery you will not be able to update with smart switch you will have to download lolliepop firmware and use Odin to flash it.

Ok thanks for that. Is there a link for the download or is it against the rules to post links to official firmware.
Thanks Paul

Hi been away for a couple of weeks so first of all I would like to thank all that replied with suggestions.
Now I have downloaded the Lolipop file I have a couple of questions.
1) If I now update via Odin will this then make the tab unrooted again once the official Lollipop is loaded. The reason I ask this is because since rooting my device I cannot use my Sky Sports app or my Virgin Tv Anywhere app.
2) If the answer to question 1 is no, then how would I go about unrooting the Tab.
Thanks Paul
Yes, It will unroot your device.
Thanks for the quick reply.

It will unroot your device but it will NOT erase your data.
All user's data (settings, accounts, installed apps, files) will be preserved.

Ok thanks, will update hopefully sometime this weekend.
Thanks Paul
So I finally updated my tab tonight. Everything went smoothly, Checked software update and it says android 5.02 your device is up to date. Then the first problem I came across was that my Sky Sports app still says that it will not run on a rooted device. Do I need to do anything else to show this tab as non rooted. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Paul

You probably should have unrooted first as there will be some residual files in data. The sky sports app is quite clever at detecting root.
You probably just need to wipe data.

Please use my app Phone INFO ☆Samsung☆, and check for the 'Root Existence' info in the ANDROID tab to see if it shows Yes or No?
There are several ways to detect if the device was rooted. I'm not sure how the Sky Sports app works.

Tab s 10.5 live demo unit.

Hi guys, I've just purchased a live demo unit off eBay and I'd like some guidance on flashing a normal stock rom so it becomes a standard wifi tab.
Is it just a case of booting into download mode and flashing a stock rom from sammobile ? I've read conflicting reports, one said do as above but another said I'd need a custom recovery like twrp to factory reset it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards steve
I doubt a demo unit has been rooted and changed rom. You probably just need to go to backup/restore in settings and reset to factory default.

So a simple boot to download mode and flash a stock firmware with odin?
To restore the factory defaults you don't need to boot in download mode.
Pull down the top menu, press the gear icon and open the general tab, there you find backup/restore, look at the bottom, there's restore factory defaults.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. This is a live demo unit for store use only, so I thought this option would be disabled to stop people in the shop from doing this? I'll certainly try your idea when the tab arrives. Cheers.
If anyone else has any input I'd appreciate all /any advice. I've had many tabs and flashed rom etc...but never a live demo unit and my desk isn't big enough for a 10.5" paper weight
As this is a demo unit I think you'll find you need to flash stock firmware.

I agree, but was thinking should I flash a stock kit kat rom 1st or can I jump straight to latest official lollipop build? Does it make any difference? Sorry for stupid questions but my experience with live demo units is zero. Any thoughts appreciated.

Makes no difference.
UPDATE
Hi guys I'd thought I'd update my progress and would appreciate some suggestions on way forward .
Ok I flashed the latest btu lollipop rom via odin, all went smoothly and tab is now usable......sort of!
No finger print reader....to be expected i guess .
Lots of random apps like crazy taxi etc I can't delete .
Most weird of all is no multitasking button ( left of home button) I mean it lights up when back capacitive button used but won't work/light up when pressed.
So I think I need to install custom rom? Can I use flashify to install twrp? And then from there install custom rom? Do I need to root? If so which way is easiest?
Any help appreciated, I'm really out of practice at this stuff.
Cheers steve
Edit I need root for flashify, which way s easiest to root?
Edit 2 something isn't right as factory reset is greyed out, so I NEED root? And flash a custom recovery?
I'd forgotten the fun I used to have doing this stuff

If you are going to install twrp and root then got to the development thread and install my all in one package or follow the link in my sig.

Last update. Thank you so very much ashyx. I flashed your all in one root and recovery, worked beautifully, I then booted to recovery and did a factory reset.
I now have a fully functional WiFi tab S WITH finger print scanner and working multi task button, best of all I picked this mint unit up for £135 and with your help I got there.
Cheers buddy . Steve
So the shortest way to have SM-T800 is to flash all in one package, right? Can you help me to find the correct 'how to' for that please? Sorry for the stupid question.
@ashyx : where are the installation files of your "all in one package" ?
I have samsung galaxy tab s t800x .This is the live demo unit.I need the files exactly for this ,which one I have to use.By the way which way I wil do a full (rom) backup before starting ?
Thanks in advance.

If you want to convert to a retail unit just install my latest update of twrp 3.0.0-0 in the development section.
Factory reset in twrp then reboot to download and install the stock firmware.

That's what I mean by a retail unit.
A normal unit for regular use for retail sale not demo.
Just download your firmware from SamMobile and follow the steps in the previous post.
Delete retail files
Hey Ash thanks for the " all in one " it works sweetly...donated too thanks for your work in this area, so I have done everything and finished but looking at storage it tells me its 8gb but I thought these tabs where 16 or 32gb.
Do you know if there is a locked partition with the retail files protected ?

It should be.
Flash the PIT file along with the stock firmware this should give you back the correct partition size.

By the way many thanks for your donation support, much appreciated.
