I'm working on an app here, asking for a few suggestions (though I'll assume asking is probably a waste of time here) on UI development. I'm good with HTML, however, I never really learned CSS, nor do I honestly want to go through the tedious mission of learning it when I could use something like Kendo UI. I'm thinking of using that, or using Bootstrap for my app's UI, but is there anything you guys can recommend that'd be easy to get a UI put together pretty quick?

this is pretty simple, you can use jquery mobile or sencha touch. wrap it with phongap to get the apk or ipa

I'll check that out. So far I'm seeing that Sencha is much preferred over Jquery Mobile, so looks like I'll give that a shot!

So, I'm certain that many of us here on xda use deviantART, be it for showing off our own stuff or for getting icons/wallpaper. So, I was thinking, what if there was an Android app for deviantART? Anyone else for it? I have a concept art started and will post it within a week (give or take a day or two). After that, since I'm not a programmer, I'd need a bit of help from a kind soul here at xda. Pics soon
UPDATE 1/3/11 6:16 EST: Main page concept pic added

Alright... I'm making faster progress than I'd thought on the concepts. Anyone interested in developing?
(this post is a shameless self-bump brought to you courtesy of me)
I would just like to share that someone on DeviantArt made a concept as well, but just like yours, it's only a concept.

Yeah, I've seen that... difference is, I'm actually trying to make something happen with this.

Oh sorry, I didn't mean anything mean by it, I really do hope that yours gets made! I would love a deviantart app because the mobile website is not that great :/

Oh sorry, my bad. The Internet is notorious for distorting intended tones, lol
+1 for suckage of the mobile site, it's really awful

I was bored and wanted to change the stock look. My launcher was already WP7 style, so I want my softkeys as well. Then I went to Photoshop.
Then: "Hey, Win8 is almost there, why not? And btw, drawing the window is easier than drawing the flag, lmao."
Just sharing with you guys, for whoever likes it.
Note: in case you're wondering, I have 3 more files attached to this post, next to the screenshot below, which are barely visible. And they look that good when used.
The link to your top picture is dead. I was interested in running a Metro UI on my Gnex as and throw my friends off lol. I wish we could get the WP7 lock screen though. I really like it.
Why not just get a window's phone? I never did get these themes

Would love to get that lockscreen as well

I didn't really "get" them. The drew the softkeys myself.
I confess that I'm really in love with Metro UI. Unfortunately, WP would never give me what I need like Android could. Btw, it almost gets the job done in this way, everybody wins.
As most of you know I'm a minimalist but I have to say that even I like this launcher. I've been playing with it for hours straight and really like it. This is the closest I found to having you phone serve you vs installing 100+ apps for every little thing and finding you need yet another app.
Is it perfect? No. Is it gee-whiz animations and transitions pretty? No. Imagine if FB Home was the entire freakin' Universe Home. Play store rating of 4.4 and 10,000 - 50,000 so far.

I was looking at this before, lets give it spin.
Lrod's Optimus G
I can't wait to see more customization or personal features...This is rockin' for a Beta...and I never saw it...Thanks
Will be trying this, thanks!
Definitely sold me by putting Walt White on the Wallpaper (you just got alliterated!)
Edit: an interesting blurb from the link you provided
"Last November, Mozilla announced plans to integrate the launcher into its Firefox OS interface with hopes that it will help to distinguish the platform from other mobile operating systems."
Hi guys, we plan on adding more cool features- some are customization related.
We try to focus on performance and functionality first, though.
Cool
Glad I stumbled on this thread, just started using this launcher and I really, really like it. Thanks! Lol my first post and a member since January 2011, I guess I must like your launcher
I saw this a while back. How useful is it though if you don't have or wanna pay for on-the-go data?
Hey could anyone help me with my app's icon please?
I have a couple possible icons in the works, but I'm really aiming for a holo ui google icon kind of look. Unfortunately I have no artistic skill whatsoever and in a couple of dead threads I saw designers were more than willing to help amateur app creators create beautiful icons for their apps.
links to icons I have come up with so far: http://postimg.org/gallery/8fkihp36/8aeeb435/
my app makes instant presentations
If you help of course I'll give substantial credit and recommend you at any chance I get.

I don't know if any of you remember the XDA Toolbar extension I made, but it's very old, very limited and only works on one previous XDA theme. You can see it here if you never saw it before...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1339825
I'm now working on a new extension that I'm naming XDA Plus, that will do the things that the toolbar used to do, but will also have a ton of other options. I'm nearly at the point where I'll be able to start testing the extension, but for now I'm looking for people with creative input of things that they'd like to see the extension do. Now this extension will not be performing magic tricks - I can only manipulate what's already there, not add major new features. So with that in mind I'm really only looking for people that have at least a basic understanding of what a forum like this can actually do.
I've started a social group so we can chat and you can post suggestions (and issues, once you have a beta version to play with). It's invite only so just post in here if you're interested in joining. Please don't just post "I wanna join teh club". If you do then you're not the right type of person. Give me some idea of why you'd be a good tester, or give me some good suggestions for features.
I would love to help test it out. I may ask a lot of questions about how things are done...because I iz learning....
