As most of you know I'm a minimalist but I have to say that even I like this launcher. I've been playing with it for hours straight and really like it. This is the closest I found to having you phone serve you vs installing 100+ apps for every little thing and finding you need yet another app.
Is it perfect? No. Is it gee-whiz animations and transitions pretty? No. Imagine if FB Home was the entire freakin' Universe Home. Play store rating of 4.4 and 10,000 - 50,000 so far.

Looks interesting. I'll give it a whirl.

I was looking at this before, lets give it spin.
Lrod's Optimus G
I can't wait to see more customization or personal features...This is rockin' for a Beta...and I never saw it...Thanks
Will be trying this, thanks!
Definitely sold me by putting Walt White on the Wallpaper (you just got alliterated!)
Edit: an interesting blurb from the link you provided
"Last November, Mozilla announced plans to integrate the launcher into its Firefox OS interface with hopes that it will help to distinguish the platform from other mobile operating systems."
Hi guys, we plan on adding more cool features- some are customization related.
We try to focus on performance and functionality first, though.
Cool
Glad I stumbled on this thread, just started using this launcher and I really, really like it. Thanks! Lol my first post and a member since January 2011, I guess I must like your launcher
I saw this a while back. How useful is it though if you don't have or wanna pay for on-the-go data?

While you may not want to hack your Froyo smartphone to install the semi-wonky Gingerbread keyboard, there's a much more tame mod you can now download directly from the Android Market. MoDaCo's Paul O'Brien -- who did a stint here at Download Squad -- has released the Gingerbread Launcher.
It's a snap to install; just grab the Launcher from the Market (the QR code is after the break), install it, and then tap your home button. You can then choose to make the Gingerbread Launcher the default action.
Paul says the Launcher is "kinda obese," but promises to trim it down to size in a future update. If you've got a little room to spare on your device, go ahead and load it up. So far on my HTC Incredible it's been bug free and looks pretty darn snazzy. "

It does look pretty nice...I'm running it right now, but still trying to figure it out....It's not Launcher Pro though!
hmmm, not a huge difference really, the icons are a little snazzier but I don't like the app drawer as much, seems a little sluggish compared to the stock 2.2.
Ok Im pretty good a flashing roms, good at manuvering through the root of my phone. Ive been messing with probably every rom out for the EVO, but ive yet to figure out how some people make theyre screens look awsome. Im wanting to know if I post a screenshot from a thread on here if someone would walk me throught how to make it look like the supplied pic? Im more than willing to supply my Instant messenger addy Thanks
Theres alot of different ways to customize your homescreen and drawer, theres apps like ADW,Go,launcher pro and themes that are made for your specific rom, hence,my homescreen, courtesy of T-Mobiles theme chooser and Fancy widgets,i also moved a few icons from my drawer to my rosie and added world clock widget.Changed the font with system root tools.

Yah, or ADW or LP with a custom DOCK, Desktop Widgets, for the widgets...
I am a Noob, but I found LCD Density on the Market, I run mine at 183 on the EVO with Myn's Warm 2.2 RLS 5. It tweaks your resolution. So no matter what you put on your screen, it makes it sharp.
Blogging site Xanga just released an app and it's not accessible for anything running 3.0+. As soon as I open the app, I get this.

Is there any way of "tricking" the app into thinking I'm running 2.3 or something? I've spoken to the developer and he said they only had 2.3 devices to test with so until they get something newer, they aren't looking into it. Any thoughts?

Tell them to download 4.0 simulator... crazy replied from the developer
I told them to root their phones and install an ICS rom.

I've found that most developers are pretty good with updating their apps for new versions. Right before the Galaxy Nexus came out I remember my phone/tablet grabbing tons of updates, and usually the update notes would say "Android 4.0 compatibility added".
But there are some developers who have either abandoned their apps completely, or just don't see the need to invest in keeping their apps updated and in tip-top shape. It's a shame, because I feel a lot of them are primarily interested in iOS, and ported their stuff over because of the demand for Android versions, but then don't really think investing their time into the Android version is worth their while.
All a part of the ecosystem I guess. Good thing about Android is that if an app isn't coded to work properly or gets abandoned, there are usually quite a few alternatives.

I was bored and wanted to change the stock look. My launcher was already WP7 style, so I want my softkeys as well. Then I went to Photoshop.
Then: "Hey, Win8 is almost there, why not? And btw, drawing the window is easier than drawing the flag, lmao."
Just sharing with you guys, for whoever likes it.
Note: in case you're wondering, I have 3 more files attached to this post, next to the screenshot below, which are barely visible. And they look that good when used.
The link to your top picture is dead. I was interested in running a Metro UI on my Gnex as and throw my friends off lol. I wish we could get the WP7 lock screen though. I really like it.
Why not just get a window's phone? I never did get these themes

I didn't really "get" them. The drew the softkeys myself.
I confess that I'm really in love with Metro UI. Unfortunately, WP would never give me what I need like Android could. Btw, it almost gets the job done in this way, everybody wins.

Yes, working flawlessly. It's official now.
On first run mentioned that HW acceleration is not supported. What was that crap?
After discarding the message the app works...
