SuperSU update and root access lost + Flash mode problem

Just last Sunday when I received a notification to update SuperSU, so as usual I choose to update it. It was installed fine but after that SuperSU stops granting root access permission, when I launch any apps that requires root access example Titanium Backup, XBlast Tool, etc. my phone will restart by itself. When I uninstall and reinstall those apps there were no prompt from SuperSU to grant the access, it like I've lost the root access.
So I want to use flashtool to re-root my phone by using DooMLord method (flash .211 kernel, root using his v18 toolkit, flash .96 kernel) so that I should able to keep all the settings and mods and files on my phone. But another problem, Windows 8.1 cannot recognize my Xperia S in flash mode i.e. when plug in my phone by holding volume down button, Windows 8.1 says the USB device is not recognized therefore I cannot proceed to flash.
So my question:
1) Why do I lost the root access by updating SuperSU? Was I suppose to update it?
2) By using DooMLord method (flash .211 kernel, root using his v18 toolkit, flash .96 kernel), can I keep all my settings, files, data, mods, etc. or should I just do a full wipe?
3) How to setup the drivers properly in Windows 8.1? The Windows 8 trick doesn't work anymore as the drivers are installed but I can't connect in flash mode.
Ok, Problem solved.

Please reply if need more info let me know what ya need im realy hoping for some suggestions
I had this happened to me a while ago it actually ended up either being an app or an xposed module. Do you use xposed?
I had this problem with Cyanogen mod 11 and running exposed framework.
I switched ROMs and now I have no problems.
losing root
I don't use xposed im just using the root66 stock 4.3 rom I have tried different super user apps no help. Im currently using superSU 2.0 (not the one from market) so far its no longer losing root. I uninstalled the superSU app from the market and used the one I found on a different thread in the Q&A forum. thanks for asking about it I will post if it stops working or anything else goes skiddy wumpus.
Thanks guys.
I remember now. It was the Xposed module BootManager that was causing the issue for me. If you don't use that specific module then it might be a module or app that functions similarly to control startup permissions of apps at boot time.

Yes I agree I set the SU request during boot to grant superSU root access so the superSU app would protect SU binary from being deleted during boot.
well crap
Crap im once again losing root on restart/boot I've tried using different root methods to no avail. Could it be the SE for Android still says enforcing maybe my bootloader is locked but I don't know how to check if it is. I have not tried custom roms because I don't know which ones work for the t999l lte.
All of the roms are safe to try. They work fine for most people, but if you have problems you can always flash back to what you have now. (Don't forget to make a nandroid backup).
And the bootloader is not locked btw.
Might also help to flash your stock firmware Via Odin. Have you tried the root66 firmware?

su binary present in xbin but on reboot not executing
Ok im still having the same problem.
I have the su binary installed in the /system/xbin folder but when rebooting from recovery su binary is not detected by superSU but its still in the xbin folder.
This jpeg is when I have full root access is the setuid not present a problem? See errors on second jpeg.
I don't know what info is needed to find problem will someone tell me what info I should gather to help solve problem with su binary (like logcat/busybox version,) thanks
Did you try v1.94 or 2.00? I guess 2.13 didn't solve the problem.

LG G3 v20u root script and oneclick root failed - other options?

Hi,
I have a shiny new LG G3 and need to start installing/moving apps on the SD card to free up space: I have 2GB left after 6 hours ownership.
It immediately updated to v20u software. I have tried running the one-click-root software and the root script in this forum several times each.
They both say they were succesful but the phone is not rooted, nor SuperSU installed.
Is there an alternative method?
Thanks,
James

Flash kitkat kdz, root it, install TWRP, install repacked 20u and you're good to go.
Thanks, but I got it to root a couple of hours ago.
I don't kow why the other methods didn't work, but the one with the file called "Newest root method V03" worked on the second try. Possibly because I moved the SuperSU zip onto the phone manually.
I'm glad I rooted: Titanium backup has frozen lots of bloatware and FolderMount has moved all the apps to the SD card.
Which method did you use? and how did you move the SuperSU files manually? I think I'm having the same problem
i succeed to root this v20u download:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/mnc75ic1x6be353/LGG3-D855-OneClickRootRecovery-V20G.zip?dl=0
let it root it will restart twice (its not rooted yet) the root was not installed successfully but the recovery is install successfully it should in the second restart open twrp recovery automatically then choose in recovery "reboot" than "system" it ask you if you want install "su" install it restart and VoilĂ !! it rooted

Problem with root H811 not recognized by checker/apps

My phone is rooted with TWRP installed using the H811 extreme rom. Superuser is installed and seems to be working correctly for the most part. I'm prompted to grant access to most apps like TiBackup, Greenify, Amplify, and some others I have installed.
Problem is some apps are telling me my device has no root access. One of them is Quick Boot, which is installed with the custom rom I downloaded and installed. Another one is iFont. I don't even know if iFont will work on my G4 but I would like to give it a shot. When I use root checker from the play store it tells me my device has no root access? I tried uninstalling and re-installing SuperSu and it's no different. Certain apps working fine, others not, and root checker says no root access. Any ideas on what the problem could be?
Edit: Problem is fixed. I didn't have SuperSu installed to /system. I thought that would happen automatically if using TWRP to install the zip.
