Make sure in developers options under root access you select apps and adb.

I had this happened to me a while ago it actually ended up either being an app or an xposed module. Do you use xposed?
I had this problem with Cyanogen mod 11 and running exposed framework.
I switched ROMs and now I have no problems.
losing root
I don't use xposed im just using the root66 stock 4.3 rom I have tried different super user apps no help. Im currently using superSU 2.0 (not the one from market) so far its no longer losing root. I uninstalled the superSU app from the market and used the one I found on a different thread in the Q&A forum. thanks for asking about it I will post if it stops working or anything else goes skiddy wumpus.
Thanks guys.
I remember now. It was the Xposed module BootManager that was causing the issue for me. If you don't use that specific module then it might be a module or app that functions similarly to control startup permissions of apps at boot time.

Yes I agree I set the SU request during boot to grant superSU root access so the superSU app would protect SU binary from being deleted during boot.
well crap
Crap im once again losing root on restart/boot I've tried using different root methods to no avail. Could it be the SE for Android still says enforcing maybe my bootloader is locked but I don't know how to check if it is. I have not tried custom roms because I don't know which ones work for the t999l lte.
All of the roms are safe to try. They work fine for most people, but if you have problems you can always flash back to what you have now. (Don't forget to make a nandroid backup).
And the bootloader is not locked btw.
Might also help to flash your stock firmware Via Odin. Have you tried the root66 firmware?

su binary present in xbin but on reboot not executing
Ok im still having the same problem.
I have the su binary installed in the /system/xbin folder but when rebooting from recovery su binary is not detected by superSU but its still in the xbin folder.
This jpeg is when I have full root access is the setuid not present a problem? See errors on second jpeg.
I don't know what info is needed to find problem will someone tell me what info I should gather to help solve problem with su binary (like logcat/busybox version,) thanks
Did you try v1.94 or 2.00? I guess 2.13 didn't solve the problem.

thread closed use thread "keep losing root access"
There are 2 threads on the same issue. Please use Keep losing root access.
I have root access on 3.5.1. I don't know how I actually was able to keep root. What I did was downgrade to 3.5.0 and rooted. What happen was I forgot to turn off system update and I was away from my phone and when I came back it was upgrading so I tried to turn off phone and boot in recovery and I wiped cache and wipe/data /factory reset but when I restarted the phone it had upgraded anyway. But I still had supersu app installed open it up and checked settings and it worked and I downloaded a root checker app and sure enough I still had root access. But it isn't all good the software is buggy some apps don't work and it doesn't show the app picture it just shows and orange box. but anyway I was able to pull the boot and recovery file from es file explorer and here they are.
Mh, but as i understand you interrupted the update-process? Isn't it more a "buggy" half 3.5 half 3.5.1 state?
yeah it is buggy but hopefully somebody can do something good with the boot and recovery files i downloaded.

I am about to get this phone. So I am guessing I shouldn't update if I want to root?
At the Moment you only can geht root working (without problems) in fireos 3.5.0
Maybe we are able to root fireos 3.6.2 in future, too - but not now.

No customs roms either I don't think. I wonder if anyone is working on that?

thanks for uploading your recovery you saved my phone - i killed my recovery before :silly:
maybe we can make a use of 'Bump!' when they teach the community how to create recoverys like they have (TWPR recovery with locked bootloader) http://www.xda-developers.com/android/bump-lg-g3-bootloader-workaround/
I'm looking for the default wallpaper on the phone can you post that for me? I downloaded the image dump but I couldn't locate the wallpaper.
I did a full format to my phone installed back cm12..
I used to be rooted but now root checker is getting me an error.
"Root is not properly installed on this device"
Tried flashing back s4mini rootkit several times but still having problems..any help?
SEARCH BEFORE STARTING NEW THREADS.
Look in the cm12 q/a thread.
You must flash latest supersu and enable root access in developer options.
I think all these are done but still same problem..and su says some weird stuff about su binaries and android 5....
Factory reset, use developer settings or flash latest update-SuperSU-v2.45.zip
Hi all. I have rooted my s4 mini using kingroot. I have installed adaway and xmod because they were my main reasons for rooting. But i'd like to go a bit deeper now and learn a bit more about rooting as im a novice. But before i can do that ive read that i should create a back up, am i right in thinking a nandroid and a back up are the same thing? Well anyway my problem is ive tried to create a back up using cwm rom recovery but my device is not supported. Ive also read something aboit phils cwm recovery 6 ( at least i think it was called that) but from my understanding i need access to a laptop or a pc to be able to take that route. I dont have access to a pc or laptop at the moment so im just here to ask if anybody can advise me on how i can create a back up for my device. My plan is to learn the ropes using this device as its an old device and when im more comfortable im going to root my galaxy alpha. Any help and answers will be appreciated, im not so great with tech and the lingo but im wanting to learn. Thanks
Unrooted
Well i have unrooted to be safe. My son plays with my phone and i dont feel safe without out a back up or nandroid. I would still like info so i can reroot n get adaway back and xmod for the unlimited lives on candy crush, and sandbox mode on clash of clans. If anybody has any info that could be of any use to me, even just a link to point me in the right direction it would be great.
Try installing TWRP for backups. i am also a beginner but i tried backing up the stock rom, flashing custome roms, And restoring the backups. Done this almost five times a week.
Here are files.

Some important steps from here
http://techbeasts.com/2014/05/08/install-twrp-2-7-recovery-on-samsung-galaxy-s4-mini-how-to-guide/
Forgot to mention that my stock rom is 4.2.2 Jelly bean. I had flashed cm12.1 rom before, which triggered my knox to 0x1.
Thanks il check those out now
Yes twrp is a good recovery...i am using it too and it can be installed without a pc
Davidich could you direct me to a link or explain how i can install it without using a pc. Do i need root to install it or can i create recovery then reroot? Is it as simple as finding file and installing it by checking unknown sources. Then opening up twrp app and applying recovery? Or do i need to go into download mode to apply it? Any answers will be appreciated. Thanks
Well ive rooted again and installed twrp because i needed root access to enter twrp. When i open twrp it asks me to install busy box, i accept the request but it doesnt download. What is busybox? Do i need it to back up? Ive just read something about mounting system using terminal emulator and then that should allow busybox to download. Am i going in the right direction?
Please Anyone give me a backup of stock rom for Samsung galaxy s4 m919

Busy box can be downloaded directly from play store. As for installing a recovery without a computer well that's RISKY. There are apps that can help like Flashfire, Rashr and Flashify. These can flash various things without a custom recovery. BUT they are not guaranteed to work. My experience is with Flashfire by Chainfire. With this I was able to flash a stock ROM without a computer. But the app when I last looked was in beta stage. Also if something goes wrong you will need a computer to fix... If it hasn't bricked your phone. Sooo much safer thru Odin on a computer.
Install TWRP and backup

Yes,i used flashify.First i flashed a recovery.img(downloaded from xda) and when i got a custom recovery,i flashed the last version of twrp.at first yes i get a soft brick because flashed a recovery for i9195L but then i re flashed another for i9195 and that's ok.if you want to try: from here download recovery.img ----> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2589011 ,when you flashed the recovery...flash this one https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347763032 from recovery
I got my AFTV2 rooted and installed the latest and greatest rooted ROM. Got it running and verified root and granted rooted privileges on screen. Now I cant seem to get root access via adb. I still have TWRP and can boot into it. SU is still listed under apps as well. Below is the snapshot of what happens when I type in "su". Anybody that could point me in the right direction would be appreciated. Is it possible to lose root, still see the SU app and boot into TWRP? Or am i missing something in the command prompt? If I did lose root, can I just boot into TWRP and reflash, or even reflash to a previous version of the rooted ROM? And would it be a necessity to wipe as I would flashing a new ROM on my phone?
So after reflashing the rooted ROM, I think I found the point that I lose root access. I run the following in the command prompt to reenable the Playstation Vue app... I found this one a thread in here as a fix. Is there something in here that would trigger root to go bye bye. It makes the PS Vue app work , but no root right afterwards.
