There are quite a few due to some great devs.
A couple modified stock roms, and CM11 and CM12 (Lollipop!).
Also a SlimKat rom that seems to have been abandoned as the dev never got it to boot.

so can you get me the modified stock rom link is it will fix disable the write protection problem/

Go to "original android development section" of this forum. You'll find plenty of them there.
However, if you are looking for sense 6 based rom, then better head to the "Android Development Section"

so why i keep loosing root after the devise reboot?

The best ROM for US Cellular version

Hi,
I got my HTC One V from US Cellular unlocked, flashed Slim and MIUI however found neither of them are usable(just for testing and lack of smooth)
Could you please recommand a version of ROM? I know it has 512mb memory. Does anyone have a ROM based android 2.3 or 3.0? Could it work?
Thanks for any suggestions or replies.
By the way, I want to recover to the original rom but it froze at the the start-up HTC logo. Currently, it is working with MIUI V4.3 only.

I don't know of any developer that currently has US Cellular. Development is mostly for Virgin Mobile. And I believe only Curtis Slim Bean had a US Cellular version.
Sent from my Find 5 using xda app-developers app
I'm a little late, but with S-ON you'll have to fastboot flash the boot.img......[echo]
Yes, currently I have to plug usb to reboot this cell phone.

[Q] [help a new htc user with a doubt]

Hey guys, im new to HTC , been a user of sony phones for 2 years.
Now a user of the htc one m8.
i have unlocked my bl, s-off, rooted and also running a custom kernel (ElementalX).
I see that there are different versions of the phone (i mean, GPE and normal).
I have the normal version (sense based), i would like to flash the faux kernel. Can i know the latest available version for the faux kernel that can be flashed to this stock rom i have now?(updated to 1.56.720.6 software number) (Im from India and i can use any sim here)
Will flashing the "GPE" tagged kernels from faux kernel thread brick this phone? (soft-brick?)
Thanks to anyone in advance who would be kind enough to help me out coz this is my first HTC device.

A Sense 6 ROM requires a kernel designed for Sense 6. The GPE kernels won't work.
Thank you for the reply!

Hi, I haven´t unpacked yet, it arrived today. If I find announcements for ROM / Recovery, I will tell.
In this Thread, post 2 is a link to stock recovery:

Custom ROM
Is there any custom ROM for M8DualSIM? It-s a great phone, there is no one who make a good ROM?
I also recently ordered a M8 dual sim. No roms seem to be around. What is the situation for M7 dual sim? If there is none by now for M7, I doubt M8 will receive a custom rom. Don't know how hard would it be to make a rom compatible with dual sim version.
Maybe we should collect a donation for someone willing to make a port of their custom rom for dual sim version

What about that, posted today via twitter:

HTC One M8 Dual SIM receives 4.4.4 update. ROM Version is 3.33.401.6 (645.83 MB)
:good::good::good:
If LLabToofer will cook a ROM on that base, he surely will receive a nice pre Christmas donation, promised!!

Since a couple of days there is a Cyanogenmod version available for the HTC One M8 Dual SIM. I wrote a message about it:
See : forum.cyanogenmod.org/topic/99803-dual-sim
(Well, I have to cut out the hhtp part, to be able to post the link, please put it in front yourself.)
Probably best to continue there, to avoid different threads on this. To cut short: even though there is only an alpha version, it is so much better than LLabtoofer 's version (and HTC's stock ROM) , I strongly recommend switching to it immediately.

Hi, or LineageOS. I am on Nougat 7.1.2,, everything working fine. It's official so gets updated weekly

Flashing CM12, need help (noob here)

Hey guys!
So I have my Xperia M currently running on stock firmware 4.3. Although I am happy with the current firmware with the exception of the low internal storage problem but everything needs to be updated regularly
I joined XDA for the very reason so as to flash a custom ROM for my XM but trust me when I say that you are dealing with a complete noob who is just lost in all the jargon associated with flashing a custom ROM. It means that I will be in need of a detailed guide to help me boot my very first custom firmware :3
Here are some details -
Running stock 4.3 firmware
XM single sim
Bootloader can be unlocked (Need a tutorial to unlock bootloader too)
Device not rooted.
Can anybody help me with this? I'll be happy to read out any existing tutorial threads as such
I was also worried about the storgae limitation within the XM, anyway to bypass it by installing CM12? Also what process do you follow when you take a backup of your device while installing a new firmware?
I am just looking for a stable and beautiful firmware for my aging XM :fingers-crossed:
Thank you for reading!

Yeah it's better than not being able to experience Lollipop on XM
How's your experience with the new CM12?

Verizon M8 with modified SIM Tray IMEI

I bought a used M8 for the price of the M7, it had a locked bootloader, modified 1111111 CID and S-OFF, I updated it manually to MM 6.0 Verizon after installing TWRP
My Questions are
- Can I flash non-Verizon ROMs like an unlocked M8?
- Do you advise unlocking the bootloader as well? Through which means?
- Do you prefer CM14 over Sense 8/7, I love Sense put CM14 looks great! Is S-team/ICE/Lee/Venom ROM more stable than CM14?

The Verizon is known as a "CDMA" version (works on Verizon's CDMA voice network, as well as GSM) versus most other "GSM" versions of the M8.
This means you can install most ROMs meant for the M8, however, you would need to flash the proper kernel to get it working. Or stick to ROMs which specifically support Verizon M8.

Since your intent is to flash custom ROMs, its not a question of whether we advise it or not; you must unlock the bootloader in order to install custom recovery (needed to flash custom ROMs).

CM14 is in alpha. There will be bugs. Can't say firsthand, but another member stated nothing major is broken.
Sense based ROMs take official ROM, and tweak it. Generally speaking, this will be more stable than an alpha ROM like CM14.
