Lifelog doesn't work with smartwatch 3 and google fit doesn't allow to start session, but counts all steps
Is there really internal pedometer in SW3 or not???
Because when I do some steps without mobile phone, there is no change in counting! I have to go with my phone a then I can see increasing number of steps online.

Yes, there is. I am not hooked up to my phone when I go jogging and it is counting my steps...

Lifelog works with Smartwatch 3 now.
And both work counting steps with just the watch. Tested today.
However, doesn't seem to be a way to set "sessions" for the pedometer.
I've been thinking of something like this as a part of a watch face service. I'm still unsure if it makes sense at all, and how it would affect the battery life, but should be possible. Or maybe you mean a standalone app only?
There are already watch faces at facerepo.com with the stepcounter included. But they all show the total amount of all time steps. There's a bug with our watch not showing daily steps. For sessions you will require a standalone app. No idea if such thing is already out.

if you want "daily step" on watch face, you can shutdown your watch every night before you going to sleep and turn it on while you wake in the morning, step count will be resetting to zero.

I totally agree. I disabled Google Fit and am using only Up by Jawbone for counting steps. I can say it's great. Together with Sleep as Android and Ghostrider it makes the SW3 a great and complete activity tracker.

No, it doesn't. I use Sleep as Android to track my sleep, but I must say I would be interested in trying the UP app tracking if they make it available through an update.

Hi guys sorry if this is a silly question but I am wondering if the accelerometer on the Sony Smartwatch 2 is activated on the default firmware. I know the Pebble's wasn't until the recent update. According to reading there definitely seems to be one: https://developer.sony.com/develop/wearables/smartwatch-2-apis/guides/hardware-specifications/ but I haven't found an application that actually uses it.
Is it possible to to use it to track your steps via the accelerometer without having to have the phone in your pocket (but obviously having to be within Bluetooth range)?
Unless perhaps my accelerometer on my specific SW2 is broken.
Thanks in advance!
If you download the examples from Sony for developing for SW2, there is an axample app for the sensor.
Anyway the sensibility of the sensor only makes it suitable for detecting movement and turn on screen accordingly and no much more I guess
It's active. I know of 3 apps off the top of my head that use it. Yes, it can be used as a step counter. I know of one app that uses it for that, but it only works when the app is open.

Thanks for the reply. Could you tell me which app it is that counts steps?
According to the attached picture extracted from the Sony site there is definitely an accelerometer capable of being a pedometer. The app I have (walkmate) only counts my step with my phone in my pocket - i.e. it is only using the watch as a display and not a counter.

hello world ,
first of all I'm really happy with my moto 360, but one thing bothers me . It is the Heart rate moniture . I'm searching and looking around for a app That atomatically checks my heart rate every 5 minutes and uploads the data to google fit. but in the past two weeks I couldn't find anything...
I know that moto body does this but I deactivaded it because I use google fit and think moto body is worthless. I hope someone knows a way or I inspire someone to programm it (in that case I devenetly wanna be a alpha tester : o)
hope to hear soon of you!
I use the moto 360 on Android 5.0.1 and a sony xperia Z3 compact on 4.4.4
u rooted?
how u deactivated the stock moto body app?
I'm not rooted.
First of all when moto body is activated it check your heart every 5 min (so every 5 min it turns on the green led.) if you go to the moto body app and scroll to the settings menu than turn of all the notifications and than it is deactivated. You can check it by looking for 5 min at the heart rate monitor!

I tried it again and sorry it doesn't work any more..
But does anyone now how to get it work for google fit?
(how can i move this treat to the android wear forum not the moto 360)
shoot, I cant even get heart beat to register when the 360 is set to check for it through googlefit.... if i change it to motobody then it returns results in the guage but never get a reading when set to google fit.
But is there a way to make a app or anything for this?

I tried this app for the same exact reason, however, you need to pay to get the features that you want. Also its a huge battery hog. Im really surprised that these features haven't been thoroughly implemented in Android Wear yet. Im really hoping that we can get the moto wellness tracker a backup and restore feature, as i enjoy flashing roms and requires a 360 reset which in turn, erases all moto data.
thanks, great app
*bump*
Since the App got deleted on the Play Store.. Is there any other way to get the Heart Rate from the 360 into Fit?
Ultimately i was thinking about doing it with AutoWear and Tasker to use the Rates also for other things, like checking if you still wear the Watch or combine the Rate with the Active Tasker Profile. Things like that...
I just did'nt found a way to insert data with Tasker into fit yet.

The app just got updated to 0.4 maby your bug is fixed
nah, i'm doing it with Tasker and AutoWear right now.. The only thing that still bothers me is that i can't turn off the screen while Fit is measuring the Heartrate (or at least turn it off, after he executed it) because &screenoff& somehow doesnt work. But at least he also sends the Rate back to Tasker, so that i could interact with it. And this way i can easily check if it is Working, which is the Problem with Clinche which did'nt got my heartrate for 4 hours without me noticing it.
But i still don't like the Fact that i need to use an App on the Watch
Can someone upload heart rate os apk, its no longer available on google store
As the title says, I feel the "active" time is too short, and would like to increase it. Is this possible?

There's an app called StayLit Wear that can change it. I tried it and it seems to work, although i only used it for a day or so, so i don't know if it has any downside.
Yep, StayLit works wonderfully, although it costs $0.99 and this SHOULD BE a very BASIC feature that Google should have provided us with. However this 3rd party app gets the job done and allows you to choose several different timeout intervals depending on what best suits your needs. If you turn off the always on crap, StayLit will actually save you battery power versus the watch always being in dim mode.

I do agree that this should have been included from the get-go, but at least there is something that does it.
Watchmaker lets you set longer timeouts.
As does Intellicom WatchFaces.
Watchface Maker
I use the Watchface Maker app Which costs .99 but also has the ability to keep the watchface on for many different intervals of time. Making the actual watchface takes a little time but it's well worth it.

Thanks.

I suppose it renders it pretty pointless having a weather-centric display that can be up to 4 hours out of date?
Same on facer, I don't see a problem with 4 hours.

You almost do not show the rigth temp in 4H you can read 18° on the watch when the temp is yet 11°. Not same between 11 and 18, so not usefull....

I just found this page with top brand watchface for galaxy watch.
Since MIUI 11, a lot of us apparently have trouble making Notifybuddy work properly on our devices.
As it seems like dev of the app has not time / doesn't want to fix the app for MIUI users, I was wondering what was your go to app for screen notifications.
I tried several that don't work either, so I ended using "always on amoled" (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.newgen.alwayson).
I spent some time configuring it in the most minimalistic way and it does the job.
What are you using ?

I tried that app and I liked it but the phone never goes to sleep if the clock is active...
I'm using True Edge app, from the same developer.
I've opened thread for it too...

This is a valid alternative indeed.
But I must say I like seeing the app notification icon on my screen all the time and glowing edges for a small amount of time (and possibly edge reminder every 5 or 10 min)
