How to make Inbox default for emails? - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I finally got my invite for Inbox and every notification I get for emails always opens up Gmail, is there away to make Inbox the default or do I just need to uninstall Gmail? Thanks everyone in advance for the help.

turn off gmail sync.

If you are using gmail 5.0 you need to revert back to another version because gmail 5.0 will basically replace the email app

I cannot send email with gmail now
There was a G-Mail update today. I wonder if that has to do with it. I always have mixed results sending and receiving with G-Mail. Sometimes people say they don't get it until hours later, sometimes immediately. Now I use K9 or Kaiten Mail mainly.

This used to happen to me occasionally. All you have to do is go into Manage Applications, go to Gmail, and clear the cache/data. Then go back into Gmail, set it up, and wait for your mail to reload. You may even have to hit refresh a few times, but it will come back. Then try to send mail again and it should work.
If this doesn't work, what Gmail version are you using? Does it happen to be the transparent one? Or just stock?
Well I am using the Kaiten Mail for now on because Gmail sucks ass

Gmail issues

Just wondering if anyone has been or is having issues with their Gmail accounts? Whenever I use my gmail app, I always have to refresh a few times and then it displays any new mail. Nothing ever comes in by itself. Now my 'synced' account through the HTC mail phone accounts does show up immediate emails.
So I am guessing a problem with the new Gmail app? Should I delete the app and reinstall? Thanks,

Which version of gmail are you using currently?
It's probably your settings. But i'm not sure what you want. Are you saying you don't want your emails immediately or you do?
If you aren't getting them immediately then do you have Background Data and Auto Sync checked? As well as when do you have it set to sync?
2.3.5 version
I am want my emails to automatically sync! There should be no reason that I have to manually refresh my emails every time I log in. I am fully snyced on both of my gmail accounts (bus and personal) so not sure whats up? I just redid some of my sync settings so hopefully that will work.

If that doesn't work you could delete gmail app and search for gmail 2.3.4.1 online. Get the apk and install. Make sure updates are unchecked in market afterwards.

[Q] Duplicate sent emails...

I have noticed that my stock email app is sending duplicate emails. Is there a way to stop this? I know it was happening when I opened my gmail account and there is a duplicate of each of my sent messages....weird.
Is this just a duplicate label? I haven't noticed anyone sending me an email back saying I was sending doubles. Any help would be appreciated.
Are we talking about Google or a third party email?
Either way try removing the account and re-adding it.
This is through the email app. I deleted the account on the email app and went back to using stock gmail. Seems fine now. I don't no why using the email app double sent. Seems odd. Thank you for the help. Any other ideas?

I think (not swearing to it) that if you're using Gmail, you're double booking the email account so to speak because once you enter your google info into the phone, both the play market and the Gmail app are hard at work synching your stuff in the background (along with your user info).
If you want to use the stock email app (for gmail and whatever else), you should freeze the Gmail app to prevent any such conflict.
For instance, I use Handcent for SMS. The phone has a the stock messaging app too. If I don't disable the stock messaging app, I get 2 notifications every time a text message comes in.
I think you're right. Once I dropped the double sending account from the email app, the problem solved itself. I well just use the email app for the rest of my accounts and use the gmail for my gmail. No big deal. Thanks for the input!

[Q] No written Mails sync with gmail app

hey guys,
i'm using the JRN84D: Stock Rooted Busybox Deodexed - v2 (6/29/12) rom.
If i write a message and send it, the app cant send it out. it fools around in the output and doesnt go out.
anyone know the issues for this problem or how i can solve it?
thx.
You should explain better the problem.
Do you use Gmail App from Google?
or some other email app?
It's the widget that doesn't update the "sending" state? Or are u using the app instead, and not the widget?
The last thing, do you have synched "Sent Mail" label from Gmail in IMAP settings?
Try wiping data from the Gmail app, and then resyncing...
I had the same problem. I ended up deleting my Google account and adding it back. That seemed to do the trick.

Delet And Reinstall
Wrong section but I will help you.
I have had this issue when I have been flashing and restoring backups of roms.
Go into your app manager and uninstall the Gmail update or completely uninstall it.
Reinstall Gmail, set it up again and you should be good to go.
Thanks, I got it. Was using transparent gmail app, unintalled , reinstalled an voila!
