Hi everyone,
I'm asking your help because even after some hours i can't get rid of this wifi issue .
I had the VenomViper 2.5.0 on my phone. It was going well but i was expecting to upgrade.
I went on venom web site and i saw : "IF YOU DON’T INSTALL THE NEW FIRMWARE YOUR WIFI WILL STOP WORKING"
So after few research, I found a firmware on this website http://android-revolution-hd.blogspot.co.uk/p/android-revolution-hd-mirror-site-var.html.
Obviously i decided (like a dummy) to install the last one. I used my twrp recovery. NP
"KitKat (Android 4.4.4 + HTC Sense 6.0)
Download Android Revolution HD 21.1"
And when the phone finally boot on... No more wifi. I tried many things but it's still the same...
So i'm wondering if someone can please help me to fix this issue.
Thanks for all !!!!
That is a ROM that you downloaded and installed, not firmware.
Firmware is under "Firmware collection" on the page you linked. Firmware is flashed with fastboot, not TWRP. Also, s-off is required.
Complete instructions on how to do so here (Method 2): http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/development/progress-fuu-m8-t2813792
Right, so I wanted to install an OTA update on my rooted EE HTC M8. I followed this guide: "Unbrick/Unroot/Restore HTC One M8 to Stock 4.4.4!" on youtube (won't let me post links yet) and after flashing back to a stock recovery and unrooting the phone through SuperSU I attempted to install the OTA update.
I don't know if I did something wrong or the guide just sucked, but now it gets stuck on the boot screen every time. I can still access the bootloader and get into the stock recovery, but wiping cache/system restore doesn't help, I can't flash anything through adb as it doesn't detect my device and trying any commands just hangs on 'waiting on device'. My only option seems to be flashing an 0P6BIMG.zip from the bootloader by putting it on my SD card, but I can't seem to find a RUU that will work with my ORANG001 CID or 4.19.61.3 OS.
I tried a few when I didn't know RUUs were location/carrier specific and it would load the image fine then reboot but still get stuck on boot screen, and I tried this RUU: "0P6BIMG_M8_UL_L50_SENSE60_MR_HTC_Europe_4.16.401. 10_Radio_1.25.214500021.06G_20.68.4196t.01_F_relea se_417809_signed" but I just get a 'Device halted due to Large Image update fail!' error.
I can't find any advice online specific to my issue, and my tech savvy mate who's also owned an m8 isn't available to help out at the moment, so I thought someone on here might be able to help with my situation. I'm going to take it into an EE store tomorrow but I don't know if they will be able to help.

Did you flash anything via fastboot? Did you remember to remove the sdcard after unlocking the boot loader?
Yeah I'm unlocked s on now but can't get past the HTC logo I have no idea what to do. I've been reading but can't find anything on how to just get stock. I did remove the SD card but even with the card in I still get stuck htc logo. Is there a way to flash stock. Please help and thank you very much.
Hey guys, since the 10 finally got the update to 8.0 in Europe I wanted to undo my root and go back to stock. I used this https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-10/how-to/stock-stock-collection-recovery-ruu-ota-t3359297 and this https://theunlockr.com/2016/08/18/u...Backup-Stock-Recovery-and-OTA-for-your-HTC-10 to do it step by step, obviously.
After I restored the TWRP backup version 1.80.401.3 provided in the thread my phone entered bootloop but I still have access to the recovery, bootloader and download mode.
I am honestly at a loss and have absolutely no idea what I have to do from here on. Does anyone know what I would have to do and would be so kind to tell me. I only want my stock, unrooted phone back.
My phone model is 2PS6200 and the CID is HTC__034.
Did you check to see if the RUU is available so you can reflash to stock 8.0?

Yeah I did check and found one https://forum.xda-developers.com/ht...-updated-s-t3376329/post73691127#post73691127. I suppose I would have to flash that and repeat the steps that are shown on the theunlockr page?
I'm still on 7.0 if that didn't quite come out of my issue description. My apologies for that.
I basically wanted to update to 8. because I saw that it came out here in Europe a couple of days ago but since I my phone was rooted I got this "corrupted system files" error.
Some more information for my problem:
- Shows S-ON in download mode
- my phon is on OS-2.41.401.41
Edit: Is there even a way to flash the RUU if you can't get your phone to boot to the home screen? (At least that's how it's shown on the theunlockr guide.)

That's one.....
https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-10/how-to/videos-unlock-bootloader-root-twrp-htc-t3377315
That's two.....
Now download, watch, read and learn.
was running bad boys marshmallow with TWRP 3.0, bootloader unlocked, s-on, unsure of firmware version
google maps would not work properly. rebooted the phone. stuck on optimizing apps. tried troubleshooting, ultimately decided to upgrade to badboyz nuget.
it required firmware, which I attempted to flash in download mode:
4.27.651.4 Signed Firmware from OTA, removed recovery (fastboot flashable): https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=457095661767155280
signed version without recovery... should have been fine for s-on with TWRP, yet it failed, wiped TWRP for stock recovery, and removed the developer flag from the boot screen.... which is as far as it will boot. also, I tried multiple other signed RUU and they all fail giving OS errors. not sure where to go from here. still have access to stock recovery, SD card, download mode, etc
edit
this firmware successfully upgraded, but I still get stuck at htc screen with no dev flag: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=673368273298946816
edit
after letting it sit at the HTC screen for about 15 min, it actually booted. hopefully this will help someone else out.
To update firmware you need the full update, not the ota.

yea I realized that after the fact, it was the first signed firmware suggested for the rom update.
even after that, I must have tried 6 or 7 full firmware that also failed with various errors. someone linked the most recent one in a thread for my original rom and that worked.
