Kii keyboard??? - Galaxy Note 8.0 (Tablet) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooti

OK, I had at one time Kii keyboard installed, now that I'm fed up with Swiftkey. I am unable to obtain it. Does anyone know where I can get it??

Kii Keyboard apk

Whatever you do, do *not* pay to upgrade it. That's apparently a scam.

Gosh I forgot all about this old thread. Thanks!
I got it back, earlier on. It works great but 4.4.2 has some issues with it.

where to get the nexus one keyboard

I have just ordered my Desire from Mobiles so was doing some advance reading and in one thread it mentioned running the Nexus One keyborad to get speech to text. The only problem is it doesn't say how to do it, one post says read the other thread but without a link. Can some kind sole point me in the right direction as my searches don't find it.
Thanks
Sully
The thing is that even if you get a keyboard with the speech-to-text button, it won't work, because you lack the engine. However, it has been speculated that only the T-mobile version lacks this function, and that the SIM free versions will have it.
The stuff I read showed a video of it working and the handset order is a unlocked version. Will wait and see I am sure it will be one of the things most users want to do.
Thanks for your reply

What engine are you talking about? Everything is done on Google servers rather than on the phone. It worked on my G1, so I don't see why it wouldn't work on Desire.
Karolis how did you get it to work, is there a tut or instructions
Thanks
Sully
I used this on G1 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=624416 but I can't install it on Desire because HTC_IME is in ROM and we have no root.
By the way, here's N1 LatinIME.apk http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=5830176 -- I'll have to try adb method when I'm at home.
I think using that method we should be able to install either IME.
Will report back later...

Thanks fella that is great, Mobiles now don't have stock even though the website shows in Stock so will have to wait a few days for the phone.

I don't have the phone yet personally, but a few people on here have reported that when they try to use the v2t function, they get error messages like "Missing engine" and "Your device does not support this function" (or something like that, I can't remember exactly what they were, but you should find them in the other threads on this subject)
I installed the following app labelled "Verizon 2.1 Keyboard With Voice Input" online. Having installed it I now have voice to text on the desire! It works best just with the android keyboard but it also works with better keyboard. I have not tried elsewhere yet.
I found it on the web site below.
link to warez site removed and then search for verizon
I have no idea about the website but the apk seems to work well. As for the voice recognition. The accuracy for me is good but not great.

I appreciate you trying to help us all out, but that's a warez site and you can get banned for posting links like that...
Interesting enough, there seems to be no moderators on Desire forum

works a treat for me thanks a lot, how do you actually use it to speak in the message app? I can click on the app and talk and google searches. Oh and i have changed the keyboard to Android in settings, it says when you change it "are you sure you want to do this blah blah due to keyloggers etc" and i have enabled voice input.
Ohh didn't realise it was warez soz..
Hey, that is interesting ... Dont you need to have "root" access?

@topic
what happens when you switch the sense off? isnt the sense keyboard removed?
Sense UI and HTC_IME.apk work independently.
I have triend instaling modded HTC_IME as well as N1 keyboard via adb, but it's a no-go for a non-rooted phone
You will be disappointed when you get it i had it on my old phone the Milestone before i sold it and its not that good, doesn't get all the words right and its slow.

Swype

Hello everyone,
I'm not sure if this is where I would post or under the Apps section, but I was wondering if anyone can spare 1 Swype installation for my EVO, I apparently ran out because of all the wiping and such and I was ignorant that there was a limit in the installations. i already sent them an email two weeks ago to reset it, but still no reply.
I really miss Swype and I was wondering if anyone can spare me 1, please PM me, I will be immensely happier with my EVO and your gratitude that's all I want :C.
This is by no means anything else, just need Swype. Thanks everyone .

Copy it to the root folder of your SD card. Navigate to it and open it with a file manager like Astro. It should prompt you to install.
Thank you so much!
The installation worked, but Swype doesn't do anything, now I can't write or text
It says the screen size is not the same. I think its the Swype installer saying its a Galaxy
Try this file. I had the same issue, plus expiring versions... I found this one in another post and it may by-pass the issue of expiring. Give it a shot.

Thanks a lot! It now works! <3
SlideIT keyboard
I hear everyone talking about Swype, which isn’t even out yet when I’ve been using SlideIT for a while now and LOVE it. I’ve used the Swype beta and I gotta say, SlideIT just works better. Its dictionary is better, it’s word prediction is better and it’s way of choosing alternate words is better. Instead of forcing you to choose from a popup menu, it makes its best guess then gives you an unobtrusive menu of alternate words to choose from in case it got it wrong. Please, try SlideIT, it’s a superior keyboad and it’s already available.
with mic?
is this the new swype version with the microphone by chance??

[Q] Swype please !!!!!!!!

I have updated to 2.2, and lost Swype, i have e mailed them, but they never seem to reply, anyone know a workaround ? I registered, but have lost my password.
I have used the search function on here, but found nothing. Please help me !!!

I'm sorry I can't help with Swype but can I suggest also giving Swiftkey a try?
I find it faster and more accurate than Swype (accuracy could be just me) as it can predict your next word quite accurately. All you do then is select the word rather than typing anything. Clicking one word is faster than swyping the word out?
It's available free on the App Market and the latest version also has Speech to text input
I had to uninstall it then reinstall it again using the "Swype Installer" found in the apps screen.
Worked fine after that.
all sorted, thanks anyway guys.
just an FYI, i've found that every now and then, it kinda runs out. so when swapping roms you get a copy of swype that's not fully functional. running the old installer again isn't enough and you have to get a new beta mail sent out and install it from scratch.
that worked for me. (just in case someone tries what worked for the OP and it doesn't work).

SWYPE Expired again?

I saw a thread earlier today that had said swype expired yesterday.
well my swype expired again. Is there an update we do again? second time this happens so idk.
Mine expired too. So I downloaded the installer from the swype website and installed the new version. You ARE on the official beta, right?
I heard Swype hacking is like warez on this site now... No but seriously I am in the official beta. It wasn't hard to get in, it took like a week after I signed up for them to let me in.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
there was a thread earlier with plenty of links. not sure if its still around or not
yeah looks like it was removed. when in doubt..... google it. i'm back to using 1.6whatever and it works fine. We'll see in a few days.
Does anyone have a download link? Thanks this peaking sucks!
Sent from my EVO
Yea can someone PM me the link that works for the new swype. Its very hard to text now.
download links not allowed !
and LOL @ people screaming its hard to txt lol
well it isnt hard
but really inconvinient when you get used to just texting with one finger
someone please pm me aswell mine expired! can't live without swype now
Go to goodandevo.com they have links!
Infected Htc Evo
it didnt take me long to get an official invite either so it wouldnt hurt to just sign up and get it out of the way and be prepared for future updates.

lucky you. i' ve gone through two in the two weeks time i've had my Evo. I've seem to have found one that works. We'll see for how long
I'm in the beta and my Swype seems to stop working every 2-3 days lately. Have to uninstall it and reinstall via swype installer each time. Which of course makes Swype forget all learned words... .

Lucky you, I tried to get into the beta in July and have not received anything back, I did just retry and didn't seem to get a confirmation email or a page saying I was successful, is this how it is suppose to work?

[REQUEST][Q] Need Dev Help with Samsung Keyboard

Attached is the Keyboard from the Samsung Galaxy S2 Philipino edition, which works much better than any other keyboard I have seen yet. This keyboard is very similar to the iOS keyboard as Apple does not have the same patents there - so I hear.
Anyway, I cannot get it installed on the Epic Touch as it tries to replace the original and then says Application not installed.
1. Can any developer rename the program to something else? How about "Sammy Keyboard"?
2. Can any developer get this to install correctly on the Epic Touch? Not sure why it doesn't, but hopefully someone much smarter than me can figure it out.
I attached the keyboard and 2 other files from the OEM ROM that may or may not have anything to do with the keyboard.
Thanks in advance and I hope someone can figure this out.
Here is a video of the keyboard in action...should be around the 4 minute mark.

Would love to see this working, although ShapeWriter has been doing well since I recently installed it to replace Swype.
+1. I'd be willing to donate a buck or two to a dev willing to do this!
