Hi, I have some problems running my fire tv with 5GHz wifi. Sometimes it lose the 5GHz wifi and i have to restart my fire tv until it finds the signal again ( i have to restart 10 times or more to find the 5ghz signal again). I have tried different channels on the router, but no one seems to work.
I know that there is nothing wrong with the router as i have 6 different devices attached to the 5GHz wifi (on channel 48) and it works perfectly.
Sorry for my english i hope u understand.
Anyone ? im running the latest custom rom , but i have the same problem on stockrom.

Hello,
I cannot connect to my AP on 5 Ghz
It sees it, it asks for password, but then disconnect and reconnect endlessly
Any idea why
Cheers.
One X does not support 5GHz wifi. I see only 2.4GHz in official spec
Oups, I thought it could as i can see it
Switch your router to 2.4, and it will work
I thought it was 2.4ghz only cos of the specification too but i can connect to my 5ghz frequency on my Netgear WNDR3700.
I can see and connect to my Netgear 5Ghz WNDR4500 no problem at all.
You guys can tell me what parameters do you use for your 5ghz ?
Thanks.
My router is fairly new, just bought it 2 months ago. I didnt change any of the settings, just plug & play. Even didnt change the router password.
The problem is with Linksys router's wireless .
even in my house we used to have a Linksys router , kept on disconnected when over 3 devices are connected to it , keeps on disconnected every 2-3 minutes really.
changed the router , and everything is smooth now

WIFI Channel 44
WPA2 AES encryption
Up to 300 Mbps speed setting
5Ghz a/n network types.
That's all the settings that i've configured, although it works out of the box with stock netgear settings too.......

I have seen some places (specs) where is doesn't show the 5GHz, but the phone supports it.
Not able to connect with 5Ghz WiFi AP

I have tried to double check this spec on the HTC offical website and it does indicate this phone supports WiFi 5Ghz, as it is with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n
htc.com/us/products/htconex-att#tech-specs
however, i have tried to link with a DLink router, DIR-857, and it sees the 2.4Ghz SSID and could connect without any problem, however, not able to see 5Ghz SSID though, i have also tried to set no security and with different channels but seems not have any lucky to this.
i am wondering is there any particular setting to the phone or router double checked with customer service but seem not really help, only ask me to change and try with another AP or router.....
I'm connected to my 802.11a AP with no problems at all. Ditto for 802.11g. I don't have 802.11n here so no idea if that affects it or not.
I didn't need to do anything special on the phone. The AP is a Cisco AP1242AG and it has the usual configuration with WPA2-PSK.

Bought brand new I9195 and it only connects to 2.4Ghz, and would not connect to 5Ghz wifi.
We had I9190 and it was connecting to N 5Ghz wifi just fine. My S3 still connects to N 5Ghz fine, all PCs connect to 5Ghz fine, and only speakers connected to 2.4Ghz.
Anybody know what is the problem might be?
Phone have been updated to latest official version of software (via settings menu) and still no 5Ghz connection. Tried before update and still no connection.
need help please.

I've got the same problem. Anyone an idea to fix this
Tnx
Go into the router settings, and select a different 5 GHz channel. Most likely a lower one will work.
Thank you, it works now
Hello!
So I've recently bought a TPLINK ARCHER D5 router to use for my home network, all devices (laptop, consoles, android tablet etc.) can connect to internet correctly on both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz wifi except my lumia 930, the weird thing is that my phone works with other routers, like the one I previously had or at work but not with the Archer D5.
At first, it displayed a "No internet connection" whenever i tried to connect to my wifi, i fixed that by reserving an ip address for my phone, changing dns to google's and enabling DMZ (dunno if it helps though). But sometime my phone randomly disconnects and shows "No internet connection" and even if it shows Connected, I still can't access the internet through the browser or any other application.
Tried rebooting the phone, updating the device to all sorts of available builds and removing wifi encryption but to no avail. please I need some help solving this issue!!!
Currently running build 14379 and experienced this issue on previous ones too (10586).
Thank you!

Try using only 2.4GHz and choose a channel between 1 and 11.
I tried disabling 5Ghz and keeping only 2.4Ghz on channel 1, doesn't change anything! Also removed encryption, disabled WPS and tried other encryption mode such as TKIP/AES/WEP still nothing.
Have you tried updating the router's firmware?

Yes updated it to the latest available version Archer D5(EU)_V2_160517 but the issue remains. My phone works just fine with other routers and my home router works fine with all the devices in my home ... it's kinda confusing.
My oneplus 3 wifi is very bad. It stays for a while but then shows a exclamation point next the wifi sign. My router is nkt bad because other people wifi are still working while my one isnt. Any suggestions?.

It was on channel 11 for my router settings
*bump
Anything new yet i can use to fix?
Use a Wifi analyser to look at the use of channels in your area and change your Wifi router to a less convoluted channel.
Is 5ghz as bad as 2.4ghz?
alright i changed it to channel 11. it worked for a while but then the problem occured again. Is there a option on my router i can change for it to work. my other devices work well but this phone.
Hi,
I'm on my second P2XL (Panda). Both have had issues where they constantly and apparently disconnect on Wifi.
I have a Virgin Media superhub 3 (tried turning 5ghz off), also a TP link range extender plug. Seems to happen on both devices, it disconnects when I'm right on top of the Superhub router.
Any suggestions?
Thinking it must be the router, any suggestions?
would it be worth renaming either the 2 or 5ghz ssid?
I am a wifi newb and have the hub set on factory settings.

I think you are correct on the issue being with the router, and since the repeater gets its signal from the router the repeater is likely not to blame. Changing the SSID would not help. I would first ensure your router (and repeater) is up to date with the latest firmware. My Netgear router comes out with new firmware 2-3 times per year fixing bugs. TP link offers new firmware but not very often. Another solution may be to change the channel the Wi-Fi is using. Usually set to auto, you can change both the 2.4 and 5 Ghz band channels. It could be interference from your neighbors is causing an issue. There are several Wi-Fi apps you can use to find the least congested channels in your home. WiFi Analyzer is one.
If your router is up to date and still causing problems on different channels, you should consider replacing it with a well supported model. No doubt you have used your phone on other Wi-Fi AP's and not had a problem. If you've tried the above with no success, do some research HERE to find a new router.
This is on the Android fanzine sites.

FIXED - For me, my router was pumping 2.4 & 5 ghz as same name. I renamed the 5 ghz, forgot connection on phone and connected to the "new" 5ghz.
No drops since.
Think the phone was getting confused when it was at the far reaches of the 5ghz connection.
