Fresh 0.5.3 "and voice search not working

With fresh 0.5.3 it doesnt seem to allow me to run voice search.. and when i hold the search button down all i get is "You havent enabled the quick compose, please enable it in handcent settings"
I think fresh removes voice search. you should be able to find in his thread
Just open up astro file manager (it should be included with the rom or it can be downloaded from the marketplace) and browse over to "fresh-removed-apks" find google voice in there and install the apk. Your voice search should now work.

Click to collapse
I have tryed a few. When I say open camera, the camera opens. When I say open Gmail it opens. But if I say open browser it just opens a google serch page for open browsers. So I guess you will just have to try different commands till you find what works.

[Q] Trying to reinstall s voice....

This message should be in the "Jedi Invasion Rom" section but I don't have enough posts to post there. Hopefully someone here can help me out. I recently installed the jedi invasion rom which doesn't include s voice but i miss a couple of the features of s voice like being able to take a picture with a voice command and turning your alarm off with a voice command. Anyway, i'm trying to reinstall s voice and have tried a couple different files downloaded from different areas here like the one from here which i'm not allowed to post their urls yet.
I understand these to be flashable zip files so i boot into recovery and flash from there. Everything seems to go without any errors and i get success message but when i boot up the phone there is no s voice in the app drawer. I do see it in titanium pro but can't figure out how to launch from there. It says it resides in /system/app/com.vlingo.midas.apk
When i click on the apk it asks to install but i still can't access s voice anywhere.
Anyone?
thx
Fixed
I figured it out. The fix for me was to locate the app in Titanium Backup Pro and click on it. Then go to Special features and "open system details". This opens the app info and i was able to enable s voice. whoo hoo!

Google Assistant Smart Home Commands do not work (Lineage 16)

Hi,
as title says, Assistant shows only web search results on commands like "Turn off lights" instead of actually switching off lights. Did anyone else experience that and solved it?
What I did so far:
1) Searched web, some users report that but no solution found that worked for me - like this users report:
- https://support.google.com/assistant/thread/2139293?hl=en
- https://support.google.com/assistant/thread/766567?hl=en
2) It used to work with Lineage 15, but not since Lineage 16 (maybe its related with Lineage).
3) I've searched the forum and did all the recommended steps, none of them solved the issue:
- Change Language to US (I'm on German)
- Join Beta for Play Services & Google App, Uninstall/Update to Beta App (based on tutorial here: https://beebom.com/how-enable-google-assistant-any-android-no-root/ )
- Clear Caches, TWRP Cache Wipes
"OK Google" works (brings up voice input), voice commands like "Set alarm to 7" also works, but anything related to Smart Home doesn't - all commands end up in an immediate web search.
Google Home App is installed, all devices configured and working via Home App Buttons (e.g. switching off lights).
